Seems that number of fielders in circle was not as per rules.

Like India would have won from there anyway.

The match was over before that wicket.

Yeah I saw that in Twitter floating around, Indian fans are calling Kiwis cheats and whatnot

So either umpires should have not allowed it, but if they did and called it a no ball, MS Dhoni would still be run out?

Exactly boss, Dhoni would have been run out either way and India would went on to lose the match. Same result

They even said that third man was brought in before the ball..

Would Dhoni take a run knowing it was a no ball and he already got a run and next ball will be a free hit?
Dhoni would run the two so he would get the free hit...

But it means nothing because it wasn't a no ball..

Nz brought third man fielder inside the ring. He was the who ran towards the stumps inorder to collect the throw from Guptill.

No way... With a meager 25 runs needed off 10 balls, I'm sure he would've blocked the free hit too.

BCCI must sue Illingworth & Kettlebrough for robbing them of a clear victory. This unending spree of injustice against India must come to an end #DownWithICC

lol.... fulling fire with petrol lol :P .... its hopeless that Indian fans HAVE to cry abt everything.... even if it was a no-ball dhoni would still be run out ... end of story lol ....

This has settled it.

NOT a no ball.

No. I saw that live and NZ had someone from third-man come inside the ring before the ball was being bowled.

People need to stop and realise the facts before posting stuff like this.

Saw an Indian fan tweet who wanted the match to be played again because of the illegal field :yk

On a serious note legal or illegal delivery it would have been run out anyway.

Even though they just called in the third man and it wasnt wrong field some Indian tweets have got thousands of likes for this and want ICC to look into this. :ua

So India would've wont it but they were robbed.. first Kohli then Dhoni..

That clarify everything, Dhoni would straight away called it and informed the umpires.

Firstly, you can be runout on a no ball so it doesn't really matter.

Secondly, the commentators said that third man is coming in and you can also see him after the ball is bowled, so it was clearly a mistake in the graphic on screen

Stop crying for once.

see Shoaib Akhtar's video on youtube.. he thinks that Kohli shouldn't have been given out..

You'd be better off not watching/listening to that self-obsessed man that has zero idea of how things work.

If you don't understand "umpires call" then cricket isn't for you either.

Saw this video. Was one of the worst attempts at 'analysis' that I have ever seen in my life.

He kept praising India and said the word 'unfortunate' about 15 times, praised Dhoni, praised Jadeja, unlucky etc. The focus was on India for 90% of his video. Just towards the end, he seemed to realise that NZ were also playing so he said a few positive words about Williamson and Taylor.

Now he has done a 10 minute video condemning criticism of Kohli and Dhoni :))) Credit to him for appealing to his 'fan-base'.

NOT a no ball.

How so? The fielder could have come in from outside the circle by the time Dhoni is finishing his first run, right?

Not that I subscribe to the non-sense 6 fielders outside the circle theory. Every team's fan needs something to blame.

It was a graphics error unless Dhoni was following TV graphics then it’s irrelevant

Graphical glitch. Nothing to be worried about, Dhoni counts every fielder and he even told Mehdi Hassan regarding filed placement in warm up match.

If any such thing would have happened umpires, Dhoni and even the dressing room would have already seen and contested it. It was just a graphical glitch in the filed radar which doesnt show live movements unfortunately.

Sour grapes by the Indians. Dhoni thought he could get away with Milking Neesham at the end but did not expect Guptill will pull off a super human impossible run out. Dhoni has been playing selfishly for far too long and it was Karma that he be recognized as the guy whose selfishness did India in the 2019 ODI World Cup

Umpire should be aware of the field and ensure there is enough fielders in the circle and out. But you can't be run out off a no ball anyway.

Congrats Indians, for once you feel how other countries feel from time to time...you were beaten pretty soundly except for Jadeja's effort!

Drink some 'Funtaastic' tea and just chill!

Asian coping mechanism. Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka all suffer from this.

Because some people watched the match live and they saw third man being brought in to the circle before the delivery was bowled.

It was a no-ball. Point fielder was coming in to cover to the stumps, which is there in the graphic.

Anyways, Dhoni would still have been out on a no-ball. Don't think additional run and ball would have clinched it for India with tail left only

I don’t get it. What difference does it make really? He was run out. You can still get run out on a no ball.

Lols Indians also suffering from the pakistani type of virus, trying to find something, something that can make them feel better (or even worse).
NZ have won it, would have won it. The only fight came from Jadeja, first time he contributed with bat when it really needed, but still did not take them home.

Indians think their team is unbeatable. When they lose they start looking for excuses. They were upset with the umpire for giving Kohli out.Now it is the run out.

Even if it was a no-ball, run out would've still taken place. No?

As far as I know, run out is valid if the ball is no-ball.

Useless fans will comment on useless things! We knew India ain't going to win with this team and have to fail somewhere! SF berth was enough and they deserved only that much! If we went on to win the cup then it meant that the other teams in the competition were even weaker than us (not good for cricket) and also India would continue this non-sense forever (handicapped team without a middle-order batting!) Thanks for NZ (congrats to them) and thanks to pitch curators for providing this game and bringing us on the ground (under the ground to be precise!) We should be happy that we have a new World-Cup winner this time (Great for the game!)

Indians are saying dhoni wouldnt have run if he saw that it was a no ball :))

Dude it wasn’t a no ball

This conversation is not happening anywhere except random twitter accounts. All it was was a broadcaster glitch
Mamoon what do you have to say for these conspiracy theories.

It is a non-issue. Even it was a no-ball, he would have been run out anyway. India lost the match when Jadeja was dismissed. Dhoni was never doing it on his own.

Doesnt matter anyway, Dhoni would not have won it from there. He would have tried to hit a 6 with 15 runs required of 1 ball. Dhoni was the reason India lost, period :inti ...
