[VIDEO] Wahab Riaz catch review - "Looks like they are late, but it's umpire call" : Sarfaraz Ahmed

I am sure the countdown clock showed 1 second to go but what did Sarfaraz make of that? See his reply

Q. The review where Wahab Riaz got out at the end proved quite important. Do you feel like it took too long for Australia to make that review when you were out there?

SARFARAZ AHMED: I don't think so. You know, I'm not see what is the timing right now. But looks like they are late but it's umpire call. I can't say anything.

If it was out, it was out, i think and doesn't matter the result if it's from DRS or not. The onfield could have given out on other days. So, this stuff can go either way. Need to get basics right to win cricket game, not by depending on luck or prayers.

Catches win matches. How many did we drop?
New ball wickets crucial. How many did we take?
Batsman, anchor role. Who played that?
Fielding should be good. Did ours was?

These are basics. We are playing a tournament. It takes a team effort to win the match.

Exactly. Team deserves more criticism than it's getting. Embarrassing performance.

What kind of question is this? The drs timer is literally there so you can see how many seconds they have. Clutching at straws.

But Aussies weren't late, they reviewed when there were 4 seconds left. It was out though as there was an edge, if it was not out it would have been a different case.

Sarfaraz's own review......

Possibly the worst review ever? Bowler was Amir (24.5 ov)

They were late. The timer came on screen a good while after the initial appeal ended and Finch signaled for the review with 1 second left.

Sarfraz was telling Amir that it does not look out but Amir kept pressuring him convinced it was out. So blame goes to Amir more than Sarfraz, even though he was the one who had to make the eventual call.

Sarfraz is a weak captain, he always gets his decisions made for him by thick bowlers. Might as well make one of them captain.

Yeah I noticed that as well. It came at least 5 seconds after the umpire said no.

That's how it is with every review! This controvery reminds me of Judegement Day Iron man match between Rock v/s Triple H...lol.

Aamir really pushed him to take (read: waste) the review.

There were a lot of positives in this game. Chin up guys we played well and I thought Sarfaraz anchored the batting best he could after a needless collapse . At least we have good new and death bowling and now our tail can wag. If only we could catch a bit

You have 15 seconds to take a review, Australia took the review before the 15 seconds . Nothing to complain about.

What's the ruling on when the clock starts? The clock started well after the umpire said 'Not Out'

He should have walked whether or not it was out

We don’t have players like Gilchrist anymore. I was watching YouTube video of Ash’s century, Gilly was the first man to congratulate Ashraful after his century when even Aussies were losing. True gentleman and when he walked out after edging against Lanka that too in a World Cup match. Respect

it doesn't matter when clock starts.. Finch reviewed before clock count 0..
So going by your logic, a player can take a review 30 seconds after the initial decision due to the fact that the clock was not on?

use bit of commonsense.. how do they know 15 sec over or not? looking at clock right? if they want to review they'd signalled T before time ran out..

Why do all such things always go against Pakistan?? Ridiculous really, it feels like Pakistan have been robbed.

The DRS timer definitely appeared to start a few seconds late, but not sure what the exact protocol is. Timer wasn't showing with the other reviews that were taken in the match.

But the players were aware of the counter starting. If it had started before they would have reviewed before with 1 second remaining

Are we really going to stoop so low to find these type of silly excuses why we didnt win .

1.Main reason malik played instead of haris.
2. We cant catch or field .

THATS IT!

Wahab could have been out the next ball. The proper batsmen were supposed to score, but they were busy being superheroes. Especially Malik and Babar. Asif Ali played according to expectations.

No one said it's a reason for the loss. A (non-Pakistani) journalist asked Sarfaraz a question and he gave his thoughts on it, that's all.

It deninitely started 3-4 seconds after the umpire made his decision

However the decision itself was right so cnat complain too much tbh

And weren't Australia - Warner asking umpire if the review time was up for his review?
In hindsight I wish time was actually up and we didn't lose the review

Lol at the people who complain out this.

First batsman should have walked out.

He has 15 seconds and he can take at one second too.

Out is out. If you people have some issues on Finch Review clearly it is not sportmanship.

Amla always walks off the field including when his grill is hit
