The former ruling party will push for the "restoration of the Constitution and democracy" across Pakistan, with the campaign slated to kick off from Balochistan.

Speaking to reporters in Rawalpindi following a meeting with the PTI founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail on Friday, party leader Asad Qaiser disclosed that the inaugural rally would take place in Pishin district as part of the protest initiative.

The announcement came as earlier this month, the PTI had revealed plans for a nationwide movement against the alleged election rigging, scheduled to kick off on April 13.

Mehmood Khan Achakzai to be named the head of said alliance.

Too little too late.

If the cause is legit, the time to do it was February 9.

PTI should realize by now that no matter how many protests they hold whole system is against them which is the reason they can't bring about any change.

Molana Fazlu party's role is crucial here

A coalition of six opposition parties, under the banner of Tehreek Tahafuz Ayeen-i-Pakistan (TTAP), kicked off its nationwide movement for the rule of law from Balochistan’s Pishin on Saturday.

PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan had announced the initiative after a late-night sitting that continued till the early hours of Saturday morning. The movement will not only hold public meetings but also engage bar associations, university students and other parties to muster their support for the campaign against the PML-N-led coalition government.

Ayub had said that Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) chairman Mehmood Khan Achakzai was nominated as president of the alliance with consensus of the leadership of opposition parties at the hours-long meeting, which was presided over by Balochistan National Party-Mengal chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal.

He had said the movement was being launched against alleged massive rigging in the February 8 elections, with an aim to protect the Constitution and resorting rule of law. The alliance had rejected the ‘government’ established by tampering with the election result.

Sunni Ittehad Council chairman Sahibzada Hamid Raza Khan, Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen Chairman Raja Nasir Abbas and Jamaat-i-Islami leader Liaquat Baloch had also attended the meeting.

The grand Pishin power show was attended by major leaders of the coalition parties.

so PTI decides to make its own PDM..

A PDM without any power lol

Just let this government finish their term. All these opposition motions are always put together to put pressure on the existing parties in government to toe the line of establishment’s policies.
It’s about time politicians realise this and stop getting misused.

Unless this newly formed party has the courage to name the khakis as the chief villian of this rigging, this is just another useless effort and waste of time.

Nobody wants to touch the root cause of the problem - the military's iron grip on Pakistan. Everybody is scared.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan on Sunday vehemently condemned the unjust treatment meted out to PTI founder Imran Khan, stating that these actions were politically motivated and devoid of any factual basis.

Speaking to the media in Swabi, Gohar asserted that the "bogus" cases were registered against the party founder and deposed premier.
Even if this alliance could get IK out soon then that would be a great achievement from their parameter

Gohar vows to continue PTI campaign

"The PTI founder is being subjected to big injustice as fake cases have been made against him."

Barrister Gohar highlighted the admission of the prosecution to the court, underscoring the lack of sustainability in the decisions rendered.

He added: "The cases lodged against him are based on political grounds. The three verdicts were given in five days. We were not allowed to present the evidence."

Khan said: "We have full confidence in the courts as the cases will be ended."

He recalled that the judges used to listen to the case for fourteen hours and only had a break for ten minutes.

He lamented the lack of opportunities for cross-examination and the denial of presenting crucial evidence, deeming these as glaring injustices in Khan Sahib's legal battle.

Despite the ordeal, Barrister Gohar expressed unwavering confidence in the High Court's ability to deliver justice. He pledged to tirelessly advocate for Imran Khan‘s release.

“PTI founder himself remained resolute in the face of adversity, asserting his determination to remain in his homeland and fight for his principles.”

Fazl threatens to run ‘freedom movement’

JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Sunday said his party would save the country by running a freedom movement to abolish the “imposed system” and restore “real democracy”.

“The country is being run by fake assemblies,” the JUI-F chief claimed while addressing via a video link an organisational meeting of his party held at Mufti Mehmood Centre in Peshawar.

Fazl, who claims that general elections held in February this year were rigged, said the JUI-F’s future action plan would be announced in Peshawar on May 9.

The JUI-F chief maintained that his party had always played a leading role against election rigging.

He added that his father and former party chief Mufti Mehmood had led the movement against polls rigging in 1977, the worst manipulation of elections took place in 2018 and the “same drama” was repeated now in 2024.

“Why are those who raised their voice against rigging in the past silent on the manipulation of the elections now?” he asked, apparently referring to his party’s former ally, the PML-N.

The JUI-F chief claimed that those who fought for power gained it by poll rigging.

He continued that his party would never accept “slavery”, in a veiled reference to the ‘powerful circles’.

Fazl warned that those who had kept the JUI-F away from parliament should listen that the party would raise its voice against their oppression in the grounds.

He noted that for the last 76 years, the country had been irreparably damaged politically, economically and democratically.

The JUF-F chief continued that they had stepped out to save the country and launch a freedom movement to restore true democracy by abolishing the “imposed system”.

He said after Quetta and Karachi, a public gathering would be staged in Peshawar on May 9 where the nation would be informed about the conspiracies against the country.

He continued that some forces not only trampled the people’s right to vote but held it “hostage”.

Fazl said as long as the political parties were not on the same page, the JUI-F would run the freedom movement from its own platform.

Fazl pointed out that today Israel and its followers had stepped up their atrocities against the oppressed Muslims of Gaza.

“Innocent children, women and the elderly are being targeted [in Gaza].”

He added that the JUI-F had always stood with the oppressed Palestinian people and would continue to raise its voice against the atrocities they were being subjected to.

He highlighted that India was dreaming of becoming a superpower of the world while Pakistan was struggling to avoid defaulting on its loans.

Fazl said the JUI-F was entrusted to them by its elders.

He continued that the party’s elders had entrusted them with their freedom movement.

“We have to loosen the grip of the forces on the country responsible for its slavery today.”

Lol someone please give him a seat in the NA, otherwise he will run a freedom movement for his seat

Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazl Rehman here on Sunday warned ‘the forces’ that kept his party out of parliament that he would take the matter to streets through public agitation.

“Those, who kept JUI-F out of parliament, must listen that we will raise our voice against their injustices and cruelties on streets,” he said while addressing through video link the office-bearers of his party from Peshawar, Mohmand and Khyber districts.

The meeting at Mufti Mahmood Centre was convened to discuss arrangements for protest rally of JUI-F on May 9 against the alleged rigging in the previous general elections.

Without naming any leader or party, Mr Rehman said that those, who had constantly raised concerns over the rigged elections held in 2018, were silent on the rigging in February 8 general elections.

4,000 volunteers to provide security to JUI-F rally on May 9

He alleged that general elections in 2018 were rigged and the same drama was repeated in the February 8 elections. “Those, who fought for powers, got powers through rigged elections,” he added.

He said that JUI-F played leading role against elections’ rigging whenever it was reported. He added that Maulana Mufti Mehmood had also led a movement against such rigging in 1977.

The JUI-F chief said that their elders had fought war for the independence of the subcontinent and they created awareness among people through Azadi March. He said that they were independent and would never accept subjugation. Since independence of Pakistan, he said, it was irreparably damaged politically, economically and democratically.

He said that they would fight in ‘public assembly’ against the forces that rigged elections as they had come out to save the country. He said that his party would restore real democracy by toppling the government currently imposed on the country.

Mr Rehman also expressed concerns over Israel’s atrocities against innocent Palestinians. He said that Israeli forces were killing children, women and elders indiscriminately. He added that cruelties of Israel and its allies could be judged from the fact that they bombed hospitals, killing patients and wounded people. “JUI-F stands by Palestinian people in this hard time and will raise voice for them at all forums,” he said.

Fazl expresses support for PTI's right to rally

Chief of his own faction of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), Maulana Fazlur Rehman, has spoken out in support of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) right to hold a rally, while also raising objections to the integrity of recent elections.

Fazl's remarks came during a session of the National Assembly chaired by Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Monday, as reported by Express News.

He affirmed, "It is the right of PTI to hold a rally. I support the demand of Asad Qaiser. We also objected to the 2018 election and we object to this (February 8 polls) one too. If 2018 poll was rigged, why the current one is not rigged today?"

The session saw Asad Qaiser, the opposition leader from PTI, raising concerns regarding human rights and advocating for the party's right to organise a rally.

Following Qaiser's address, Maulana Fazlur Rehman took the floor, stating, "The demand of Asad Qaiser is correct and it is the right of PTI to hold a rally.”

He added that while talks with PTI have not yet commenced, his party harbours no opposition to them.

Fazl urged a thorough examination of the country's current situation, expressing dismay over what he perceived as a diminishing role of the establishment and bureaucracy. “The establishment and bureaucracy had no role in achieving this country… where does the bureaucracy and establishment stand today and where are the people?”

He stressed the need for transparency and fairness in the electoral process, cautioning against compromises that could undermine democratic principles.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the conduct of recent elections, the JUI-F chief criticised what he described as flaws in the electoral system. He remarked, "What kind of election is this where the losers are not satisfied and the winners are also upset… the winners' own leaders are rejecting their mandate."

He drew parallels with neighbouring India, highlighting economic challenges faced by Pakistan and questioning the nation's adherence to its Islamic identity.

“Where does democracy stand today? We compromised on the original and sold our democracy… we made our ‘masters’ with our own hands… today, we cannot even make laws of our own will. Just compare India and ourselves… both countries were freed on the same day… today, they (India) are dreaming of becoming a superpower and we are on the verge of bankruptcy… the forces behind the wall that control us make decisions but it us who are humiliated in front of whole world.”

He lamented the failure to implement recommendations from the Council of Islamic Ideological (CII), emphasising the importance of upholding Islamic principles.

“Every individual Pakistani owes Rs300,000 debt… we’ve turned the nation into a crowd. Obtained in the name of Islam, today we have become a secular state. Since 1973, not a single recommendation of the Council of Islamic Ideological (CII) has been implemented. How can we be an Islamic country? We are begging to avoid bankruptcy and the IMF tranche is being celebrated today.”

Earlier in the session, Asad Qaiser had questioned the existence of basic human rights in the country and criticised the imposition of Section 144, which restricts public gatherings. He also expressed concerns about the weakening of the assembly, comparing it unfavuorably to the Majlis-e-Shura of 1985.
