[VIDEOS] Ahmed Safi Abdullah - Left-arm spinner playing for Islamabad United

Love ISLU's tradition of promoting young PAK talent.

Thank you, Misbah.

So many players by ISLU - exact opposite of other franchises, especially in earlier PSLs.

What an excellent debut

1 wicket and 8 runs to help IU win a thriller!

Quotes from his presser

Of course there was pressure as i was playing in such a big game but i had belief as we had played practice games and the team members had told me to make it good debut"

"I had a lot of trust on my partner as well; I had told him that if we take the the match to the last ball then we will chase the target"

"Yes there was pressure initially as we lost some good wickets early such as Luke Ronchi who was in good form; Later on when Ingram played a good over against Samit Patel, then we felt that we were back in the game and we felt that if we took a little time on the crease we can play good shots and also chase the runs"

"There was time when we had one wicket left and 25-26 runs left to win but we were both praying 'darood shareef' (praising The Prophet pbuh) and had belief that we could win - I told Musa just one thing, that just play the ball and if you middle it we can chase down the runs"

"The last few overs they bowled, they seemed to be trying to save runs and were not trying to get us out; When they tried to save runs, they bowled some bad balls and then Musa played well and hit some good shots which helped us win"

"When we were playing, the voices of Islamabad supporters were very weak but when LQ were doing well there was so much noise that we (as IU players) almost felt like we were playing in a different country"

As humble as one can get! Let's see if he does more in psl

a much needed pick by Shadab khan
Obviously undoing the mistakes of the first loss

Safi was immense under pressure and even scrapped home in the end
Safi should have shared some kind of gong for sure for his heroics

Did he turn the ball in this game? Seems like people were complaining about the amount of turn he gets...

Only given 3 overs by the skipper today.

Another in a long line of young spinners who do well in the PSL but nothing exceptional to propel them to the team or really get noticed.
