Spider cam and buggy footages can be amazing if shot properly. These innovations make the game more watchable and give it the modern touch. More power to such tech just as long as they don't get in the way of the players or distract them. Smith was being a bit excessive here though, I don't think many batsmen focus on such a wider field of vision when the bowler is running in.
 
Innovation is all good.

Its the gimmicks thats annoying.

I hate it when instead of showing replays properly (like a simple camera view from the bowlers' end), they show 360 degree shots.

Another gimmick I hate is when commies talk to players during game time (in T20 leagues) and ask the STUPIDEST questions ever.
 
Personally I think the likes of the buggy cam and the drone cam give amazing angles and shots. Not sure how Smith has scored all those buckets of Test runs in packed crowds when a buggy moving at mid-wicket boundary puts him off.
