Following a recent incident in Adelaide, where a Pakistani fan approached the Indian cricket captain for a handshake and then shouted "Pakistan Zindabad." The moment, captured in a widely shared video, has led to mixed reactions about Gill's response.

The moment, captured in Adelaide after the IND vs AUS match, has gone viral—sparking debate across social media. Gill’s visible surprise has been interpreted in different ways: some say he stayed composed and professional, others feel he could’ve responded more warmly or assertively. Was his reaction fair, given the context, or should cricketers be prepared for such cross-border gestures in global tournaments?

This is how Shaheen reacted BTW, when he confronted Indain fans. Huge huge difference.

What do you think—was Gill’s response measured, or did he miss a chance to show grace under pressure?

This is going to follow Indian players now.

Let’s see how Surya is treated in the public when he goes out in UK and Australia

Should be ok in NZ but who gives a rat’s in NZ the most irrelevant English speaking country of all time

Need Michael Cole type commentary for this clip, Gill behaved like a child

????

Gill literally didn't react and walked on.

Lol is this what Pakistanis are hyping up now?

Also see the behaviour of both fans. I think Indian fans are treating with love. I can see lots of laughters. In contrast, Pakistan's fan only meant to bother Surya. During Asia Cup, there was another video when a fan was trying to click photo and in between he said btw im from Pakistan, Suryakumar said lelen and had a brief smile on his face.

Have anyone watch the whole videos? He didn't even know that it was an Pakistani fans

:kp

Pakistani fan is an idiot.

Why engage with them in the current scenario? Also, he is not on the field, he is not representing India in that moment, why bother him and provoke a reaction?

NOW STAY ON TOPIC OR ELSE YOU CAN LEAVE THE THREAD FOR THOSE WHO WANNA TALK ABOUT IT
Brother these threads make no sense.

Literally they are non sensical and their sole purpose of existing is to start a war for the sake of starting a war.

Yet you're claiming that if people fight on this thread its somehow their fault?

The intention of this thread is obviously to tie it back to the handshake controversy but it's getting ridiculous now.

Irrespective of whether Indian posters irritate me or not.

Player isn't in the wrong here. Fan was obnoxious.

They are touring Australia, *** has it to do with you or Pakistan.

The fan clearly wanted a vid to go on social media. I hate these type of people.

Exactly. Just let it go. Nothing wrong in not doing a handshake

Arab athletes dont shake hands with Israelis

Ukrainian athletes dont shake hands with Russians

No point getting so obsessed with such trivial stuff

Fan is a clown. Gill handled it well. Clown was looking for some kind of reaction. Gill gave him none.

These reels-type fans are the most disgusting bunch. Have seen Kohli and Rahul treat them appropriately.

I don't see anything here. It would be interesting if he says pakistan zindabad and then approached for handshake.

Phone camera has instilled bravery into low achieving layabouts.

Nowadays even getting snubbed or embarrassed is a sign of pride for these people.

💯

It's silly from that guy. Gill was stoic and walked away, which is the right response. Looks like done on purpose to get clicks
:facepalm

Remember that Pakistani fan who abused Sarfaraz during the 2019 WC & proudly uploaded the video on social media
