my guess is he's only playing there so as to be close to the team, in case someone's injured and they call him up... no needs to worry about visas or travel or acclimatization

otherwise, can't see why he would be playing club cricket

Nah, he was there last year too. The standard isn't great but not that bad either. However, it is too for him, there are pros in every team but he is like the Bradman of the league.

Decent innings but even if he scored a triple century in UK club cricket don't think it would really result in him getting a Pakistan call up unfortunately for him as this standard is even lower than Pakistan Domestic Cricket.
coy0607 makes a good point actually, if one of our batsman gets injured then he may be considered as he's already in the country.

What is this standard of cricket :danish

This is my level of cricket....

County 2nd XI and some semi-professionals together with some very good youngsters.

Lancs league is one of the best leagues in the UK.

Many great players have played in it over the years.

So it's not quite under XI cricket you are alluding to.

Fawad already has impressive FC and some international career, this club cricket inning does not mean anything to him or us.

It’s club cricket. Nothing to shout about. He can’t even get selected for county cricket

If I remember my history correctly, wasn't it the Lancashire League where Fazal Mohammad also made quite an impressive mark during the late 1950s? I believe the standard of cricket would at least be of a high quality standard if the league has a historical precedent of roping in established international players.

It is club cricket. I have even played club cricket. Anyone can play club cricket.

poor guy, he is has to be the unluckiest player in the history of cricket. No Other country would treat their greatest first class batsman like this.

That's his level - should stay there and keep playing club cricket or domestic leagues.

Sadly, not good enough for international cricket, and we have much better, younger, more dynamic options in Babar Azam, Imam, Saad etc.

asifp please do not ignore objective facts just cause you like him.

Someone who can be tied and bogged down so easily at international level just isn't good enough.

If he was as good as we all say, why has no county team reached out to him? Surely he’s in England and they could sign him up. I think he’s just over hyped on Pakpassion

and this is based on what exactly?

sadly he is not good enough. His stance is worst ever and he can't survive with that ugly stance in international cricket. He can play all the leagues he wants but should be nowhere near national team.

Viv Richards and Steve Smith have also played in this league.

There are qualification requirements for County Cricket - you may want to read up on what they are first.
