This guy is swinging the in uae. Gets two wickets on two balls, on a hattrick. Has bowled a fantastic over.

If afghanistan has unearthen a pacer this team along with mujerb and rashid can be a strong team from bowling pov

Ends up getting 3 wickets, hopefully gets the MOTM

Looks a proper fast bowler like Hamid Hasaan unlike that fraud china ka copy wala Bumrah

Really impressed by his swinging deliveries, swinging a lot! Would test batsmen. He speaks good Urdu, did he stay in Pakistan?

Can he put Afghanistan on track vs SL?

Exceptional swing bowler. Pace is pretty decent too. I noticed he bowls the fuller length deliveries extremely well. Afghanistan need to take care of him.

Will be seeing him for ISLU in PSL 8. Looks like a good pick

Cricket Australia Statement

Sydney Thunder have terminated the contract of Fazalhaq Farooqi, a move supported by Cricket Australia.

The club referred a matter that occurred last Thursday to Cricket Australia’s Integrity Unit for investigation. Following that investigation and a subsequent hearing and ruling by a CA Conduct Commissioner, the Thunder decided to terminate the player’s contract.

The details of this matter are confidential and no further comment will be made.

Any idea what he had done? The way CA worded their statement, it sounded like there may have been a victim to his "behaviour".

Cricket NSW declined to elaborate on the nature of the behavioural complaint when contacted by AAP.

Cricket NSW CEO Lee Germon said “The behaviours displayed by Fazalhaq Farooqi sit outside our values and it was determined that his contract be terminated,”

“Our focus now is providing the necessary support to those affected by this incident,” he added.

Thunder has not named a replacement yet.

Farooqi has picked up five wickets from four games for the Thunder so far. He impressed on his debut with two wickets against Melbourne Stars and three against Adelaide Strikers.

probably misbehaved with a female

Like Tim Paine.

I guess its probably not as serious as the Sri Lankan player who is currently on bail for rape otherwise he would have been arrested.

I wonder if its racial - i.e he made racial comments.

That's his career in Australia finished. I think that's also going to be the case here and in NZ.

No problem - there is always another league that doesn't care

As Farooqi, who is plying his trade for MI Emirates, was about to bowl the delivery, the ball slipped out of his hand, resulting in five extra runs for Abu Dhabi Knight Riders.

Fazalhaq now in Pakistan with Islamabad United.

Who is he going to replace? Is this another case of having someone for the sake of it?

His latest performances

hes a good bowler. ANd Islamabads bowling line up is very weak.

Rumman Raees and Tom Curran offer nothing.

Hopefully, He replaceds Tom Curran, and Ruman is replaced by Hasan Ali

Zeeshan Zamir might also replace Hassan Nawaz

Fazalhaq making mockery of QG batting line-up

Well-deserved Player of the Match award for Fazalhaq vs Quetta in Game 21

his first over is good enough to be in the shaheen and mohammad irfan category

He is a world class opening bowler like Amir and Shaheen but boy was he taken to the cleaners by Umar Akmal

well obviously Umar Akmal has more international experience.

What a start for Fazalhaq in the 2nd T20I - almost got a hattrick

This guy is shaheen level dangerous in his oepning spell.

Lovely bowler.

He’s just decent. India treated him like a club level bowler. And other international teams destroyed him. It’s only Pakistan dreadful poor batsmen making average bowlers look like Wasim Akram

this thread was made after the guy destroyed Sri Lanka and was moving the ball on a pitch where no other was able to get movement. He is not just decent, he is a very lethal bowler especially when opening the spell.

Should have been man of the series for me. Brilliant display of swing bowling. No batsman in the world at present would fancy facing him during the powerplay.

Got the better of Fakhar Zaman in the 2nd ODI

Fazal the Giant Killer?

Gets the wicket of Babar as well!

Wonder if we can poach Afghani players like England does with their bs “if you have any English heritage” bs rule? 🤔 🧐

Fazalhaq Farooqi is ripping through PNG... he has already took 2 wickets in his very first over

Deserving guy for the Man of the Match award. Took 3 for 16 in his 4 overs.

This is his 2nd Man of the match award in this T20 World Cup so far.

If someone had told me that Afghanistans left armer would be better than ours 2 years ago I would have laughed

Well I guess that shows how depressing low Pakistan cricket has fallen

Fazalhaq Farooqi has bowled the highest number of dot balls (50) in the T20 World Cup 2024 so far.

After getting the thrashing from West Indies, Farooqi is back in form as he claimed 2 wickets against India in the Super 8 encounter today.

i think he kind of deserved the player of the tournament no?

Dont have issues with Bumrah winning it as he came in the crucial overs to save India, but whats your take on Farooqi being a candidate?

Fazalhaq Farooqi's ability to swing the ball both ways is enviable. The Afghan pace sensation has already claimed 3 wickets for 26 runs in 5 overs so far, helping dismantle South Africa's batting lineup in the 1st ODI.

Sensational bowler. Arguably top 3 left-arm pace bowlers in the world at the moment.

Afghanistan pacer fined for dissent at umpire during second Zimbabwe ODI

The incident occurred when Afghanistan faced off against Zimbabwe on Thursday in the second ODI of the three-match series.

Afghanistan fast bowler Fazalhaq Farooqi has been fined 15% of his match fee for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct.

The violation falls under Article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which addresses “showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during an international match.”

The incident occurred in the fifth over of Zimbabwe’s innings, when the left-arm pacer showed dissent when an LBW appeal against Craig Ervine was turned down. Farooqi made the sign to request a review when DRS was not available in the match.

In addition, one demerit point has been added to Fazalhaq’s disciplinary record, for whom it was the first offence in a 24-month period.

Fazalhaq admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by Match Referee Andy Pycroft, and levelled by on-field umpires Chris Brown and Percival Sizara, third umpire Langton Rusere and fourth umpire Iknow Chabi.
