As Safehands46 might be able to testify, its Imrans bday today as opposed to the commonly perceived bday 25th november. So heres saying happy bday to one of our best cricketers ever.

Oh in that case uh oh. U see i was pretty sure that 25 nov, his official bday, is not the right date and that his real bday is 5th oct. FP backed me up on this as well but u're his relative u know best. Sorry folks nothing to see here, come back in nov :P

Few would dispute that Imran Khan, who was born today, was the finest cricketer Pakistan has produced, or the biggest heart-throb. As such he and TV completed the popularisation of the game in his country which Hanif Mohammad and the radio had begun. Thousands, if not millions, who had never dreamt of bowling fast on heartless baked mud suddenly wanted to emulate Imran and his lithe bounding run, his leap and his reverse-swinging yorker. He also made himself into an allrounder worth a place for his batting alone, and captained Pakistan as well as anyone, rounding off his career with the 1992 World Cup. He played hardly any domestic cricket in Pakistan: instead he just flew in for home series from Worcestershire or Sussex, or rather from the more fashionable London salons. Post retirement, he embarked on a career in politics.

A few weeks back, i saw a few photographs of Imran taking sun bath in indian industrialist Godrej's bungalow at Mumbai. he was very fit. i was wondering how old he was because u can see the biceps/muscles and a flat abdomen. was surprised to find he is 56.the most inspirational captain Asia ever had!Long live King Khan! not many PP'ers like his politics, u may have your own reasons. but i feel, v dont have (m)any such leaders in india.not many would spend their life time earning in building an hospital or mobilise resources utilising all his contacts.

56 years old now. But still looks like he is in his 40's. Ofcourse it is well known he himself has had a hair transplant, he dyes his hair black and lol i have even heard he uses foundation at times to hide his wrinkling skin.

What is more unbelievable is that he still looks fit? He has not gained an ounce of weight since he was last seen in a sporting outfit in 1992. He has really looked after himself all these years, he still takes time out to jog. Gotta hand it to him. Some players can really learn from him.

Seeing Waqar now after retirement is shocking. He has really let himself go.

I've met him in person. He don't use foundation, his wrinkling skin was very well visible.

Saw hiim 3 weeks ago - virtually 6 ft away from him.

No make up to hide wrinkles - hes looks his age - but you feel that he could still fit into his cricket whites from 20 years ago, and still be fittest
in the team!

Id be tempted to replace Afrifdi for Imran...

I actually shook hand with him as well.

Well, you can replace anyone for Imran, please spare Afridi because he'll be playing beyond the perceptions of human mind with his hero Imran Khan.

BTW, Imran bowled with a tape-ball on 22nd Nov in Minto Park, Lahore while playing cricket with ISF Lahore members.

1992 WC win still feels like yesterday and Pakistan cricket is yet to find a player and leader such as Imran Khan (got close with Younis Khan, but, do not want to reign on Imran's parade)
