Been impressive and hit another 50 today for his side in KPL 2

Ended up on 68(44) but quality of shots is very impressive.

Yes, definitely has been impressive in this tournament. He has some decent shots, has the ability to rotate strike as well and seems to have a good head on his shoulders.

Not sure where has he been in the system previously but, surely needs to be selected for upcoming National T20 Cup in my opinion or at-least 2nd XI for one of the regions.

Dare I say it he looks like a young Ind or SL player. Well balanced at the crease and has shots around the park of both feet.

Threw his wicket away today. A young player with ambitions and brains would have batted for the full allocation to win the game. I hope he isn't another Imran Nazir- a talented but brain dead player

That six vs the spinner is so absurd. Superb talent and the player of the tournament for me.

Yes we will arrange.

so 41(16)!

He has a nice flow of the bat. It will be interesting to see how this guy develops in the future.

I have not seen his name for any of the six regions to play in the next domestic calendar. Maybe I’m missing it or maybe domestic cricket is beyond saving.

He is just 17 years old but might get added onto a domestic squad now or maybe the second XI.

Had never heard of his name and good on whoever found/selected him for KPL.

KPL is turning out to be a good talent filter. Last year we got Zaman Khan and this year we get this guy. Hopefully this guy can get a PSL contract in a year or two just like Zaman got one. A young power hitter can be a good fit for Multan.

I thought I saw his name for northern as Hasan Nawaz. Hopefully it’s him If he’s not selected then what’s the point of domestics.

I hope it’s him. Good on Northern for consistently providing us with decent batting options recently.

Seems , an exceptional talent & hats off to the one , who discovered n selected this guy. Heard he is playing some club cricket in Islamabad. Definitely he ll b hot pick , provided he repeats same in CA, PJL, or National T-20 cup. BY THE WAY ITS RARE WE FIND GOOD YOUNG BATTER FROM NOW WHERE , HAVING FAST BOWLING IDEATED CULTURE.

This is why these leagues are good, they can skim good talents from average one's, provide a platform to unknown names, catapult a young man's career which otherwise would take years to develop.

One or two good talent per year is more than enough from these feeder leagues.

List year it was Zaman khan this year hopefully Hassan Nawaz.

Even in india there are feeder leagues:-

1 TNPL, tamil nadu
2 KPL, Karnataka
3 Maharaja Premier league, Karnataka
4 Saurashtra premier league

Nobody talks I'll of them rather these are used by talent scouts, eg Sharukh Khan from TNPL was picked by punjab kings in the IPL.

He looks pretty good from the clips. I think Northern have picked him, so hopefully more chances for him.

How is Asad Shafique still playing T20 and scoring big runs?

Says a lot about the quality of bowlers in this league

Asad Shafiq, Ahsan Ali and Shehzad are 3rd, 5th and 6th position!!!! You can clearly understand the quality of this league.

To be frank Asad Shafiq looks a lot fitter now then he used to. He has lost a lot of fat around his face and body and he looks like an athlete. His power game is also a lot more improved. So I am not surprised he is scoring runs in t20 now as well.

He's always been a gun LOI player in domestics. It was a surprise him & Azhar were picked in test squads by Waqar Younis (given there were diabolical bans on Yousuf & YK that year) despite been mediocre in First-class.

He turned out to be a timid character in internationals. His ODI appearances were some of the worst display of minnow-level batting.

Has been selected in the preliminary squad of Northern and will be part of their pre-season camp as well.

Selected in Northern First XI. let's see how he performs at top circuit. It ll b verrrry interesting

if he can replicate these numbers in national t20 I wouldn't be surprised if he finds himself around the national squad. pakistan are desperate for hitters, seems to have more shots than some in the national team at the moment.

He isnt a hitter he is defo young..lets not make everyone sloggers look at haider who i think has underachieved big time

Haider Ali will achieve his potential when he realises he’s a proper bat rather then an ugly tape ball slogger.

Also a good fielder!

Catch during #NORvSINDH in Nat T20 Cup

Beatiful catch.

He has natural talent but will need to play for next two years before he can become international level player.Needs to learn a lot about the game eg shot selection, strike rotation and building an innings. He wants to hit every ball out of the park. This won’t work against top class bowling attacks.

I was optimistic that we had a real talent on our hands until i saw him today. No brains, its as if Imran Nazir had come back

I agree he played without much brain. But let’s not be to harsh on a 18 year old who is playing domestics for the first time. If he continues to play like this after a while then there is not much hope.

I am desperately hoping that i am wrong and you guys are right

think your being a bit harsh, if we looking to develop t20 hitters, id rather a youngster come in, be over aggressive and then work out his game rather than try to convert a naturally less aggressive batsman into a hitter.

He’s almost charging towards the bowler every ball with a huge front foot stride. He needs to be more balanced at the crease to avoid facing difficulties with short stuff

This is the culture in Pakistan and why players play for their own runs. If they play aggressive and get out, they're called stupid & brainless.

If the goal is to play a modern T20 game, then it involves going hard at the opposition from the get go and often slogging wildly, especially in the powerplay. That is the best time to slog when all the fielders are in and even mishits can go for boundaries.

Don’t mind that at all

Imran Nazir is dearly missed today in the modern game

There is aggression and there is brain dead slogging without any process. I hope my fears are is misplaced and he is the talent we hope for but having seen this sort of player many times, they don't develop and become another in a long line of wasted talents.

KPL sixes by Hassan

Big Money Playah!

Really liked hearing from commentators that so many of the fans actually came to the match just to see him play today. You need this kind of talent in domestic cricket to bring back the crowd. 10 years ago our stadiums used to be full during national t20 tournaments, now people barely know if it’s existence.

Reminds me of a young Shoaib Malik. He used to bat the same way during his earlier years.

For PTV in second innings Hassan Nawaz scored 83(123) against SBP in President's Trophy 2023-24.
