Noor Ahmed, the 18-year-old Afghan left-arm wrist spinner, hasn't let cricket's biggest stage intimidate him. He may have only played two games so far, but he looks to have the swag and confidence of a seasoned player.

In his first over against Pakistan in the 2023 World Cup, he sprayed the ball all over the place. But, he quickly regrouped and took the wickets of Babar, Rizwan, and Shafique. I think it was his spell that won it for Afghanistan.

In this World Cup, he has taken five wickets at an average of 16, with an economy rate of 4.21 and a strike rate of 22.80. His bowling average is the third-best of this World Cup so far.

He will only get better with age, and it's a welcome dilemma for Afghanistan to have, considering they already have Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Rashid Khan, and Mohammad Nabi. The only thing missing for them is a slow left-arm orthodox spinner.

What do you make of him?

Yup. He is very good.

Afghans have so many spin options that a potential future superstar like Noor can't get to play all games.

Good signs for AFG.

What do you make of him?

There are slow left arm orthodox spinners of very good quality in Zia Ur Rehman Akbar, Sharafudin and Nangyalai Khorote, but they are not part of the squad.

Nangyalai Khorote may replace Nabi in the future as he can bat as well.

What a bowler he is.

All he needs to just slow down his pace a bit so he can get more turn from the surface.

He is going to be a future star after Rashid.

Afghanistan has alot of spinners in their domestic cricket.

This guy is a mirror copy of Rashid Khan but from the other hand. If Rashid Khan was a level 9 monster, this guy is level 10

Afghanistan can say Shadab jaise har galli main hote hai .(In Peshawar or Kabul don’t know lol).
20 years on, and You guys are still hurt about that comment? lol

Needs to slow it up a little. Won't get purchase on most wickets at current speed.

Yes, I agree. Noor Ahmad has the potential to be better bowler than Rashid Khan. Fantastic Spinner!

Noor Ahmed was brilliant for Gujarat Titans in last IPL. He grabbed everyone's attention with some really good performances.

He is a really good bowler and he had the wicket of Maxwell in today's match as the on field umprire gave the decision in his favor but the hawk-eye surprisingly showed that the ball was just bouncing over the stumps.

Somebody had to tell him to bowl at the stumps when he bowled to Cummins. He bowled everything wide. Cummins kept leaving.

Really good bowler. Still has the occasional 4 ball an over but really threatening with the other 5.

Hes not as threatening as Kuldeep or even Shamsi. He doesn't attack the stumps enough for my liking, his deliveries usually fall outside the off stump which is not a threat to the batsman. Hopefully he will get better with experience.

Spinners take time to develop. He's going to be a real handful once he hits his prime.

All said and done you can't fault him if fielder drops a catch. He was the one created the chance if i am rig ht.

MLC 2024: DARYL MITCHELL RULED OUT DUE TO INJURY, TEXAS SUPER KINGS SIGN NOOR AHMAD AS REPLACEMENT

Daryl Mitchell has been ruled out of the 2024 Major League Cricket (MLC) tournament due to injury. Texas Super Kings have signed Afghanistan left-arm spinner Noor Ahmad as the replacement.

Mitchell was picked by Texas Super Kings as an overseas signing ahead of the second season of the competition. The New Zealand cricketer will undergo a rehabilitation programme for his injury.

Noor Ahmad has played 96 T20 matches and has taken 97 wickets in his career, including a five-wicket haul. The 19-year-old has represented Afghanistan in 10 T20I games.

He bowls like Rashid Khan. Similar action.

Afghanistan keep on getting these great spinners. Good to see.

Representing Texas Super Kings in the MLC 2024, he picked up 3 for 27 in his 4 overs against San Francisco Unicorn. What a young and exciting talent Afghanistan has at the moment. Left-arm chinaman who can spin the bowl and can take wickets, brilliant bowling.

Noor Ahmad finished CPL 2024 in style, taking 3 wickets in the final ending as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker and earning Player of the Series honors.

Great spell by Noor bhai

If you wanna talk about upside, this kid has the greatest upside of all the young Afghan spinners. He is way more talented than Mujeeb and not a gimmicky bowler like AM Ghazanfar and Kharote, who will get found out eventually. In white-ball he will be a constant threat for teams for years to come.
