Security forces killed four attackers who attempted to storm the Pakistan Stock Exchange building in Karachi on Monday.

Initial reports said that four attackers entered the building after 9am and opened fire. A grenade attack was carried out at the entrance. At least two civilians were killed in the attack and multiple were injured.

Police and Rangers' officials arrived at the scene soon after the attack and killed all four attackers, Sindh Rangers said. A clearance operation is underway in the vicinity.

Weapons and hand grenades have been recovered from the attackers.

According to rescue services the number of casualties may increase. Edhi Foundation's chief Faisal Edhi is also at the site along with rescue services.

Police surgeon Dr Qarar Ahmed Abbasi said that five to six injured have been brought at Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi for treatment.

Sindh Inspector General of Police Mushtaq Mahar demanded a report of the incident from the DIG South.

Sindh Governor Imran Ismail condemned the incident.

Gunmen have attacked the Pakistani stock exchange in the southern city of Karachi, killing at least two people and injuring others, local media report.

The assailants stormed the building after launching a grenade attack at the main gate to the building.

Latest reports quote police saying a number of the gunmen have been killed and the attack is continuing.

It is not clear how many assailants are involved or who they are.

The Pakistan Stock Exchange said in a statement that the situation was "still unfolding".

Its director, Abid Ali Habib said the gunmen made their way from the car park and "opened fire on everyone".

People inside the building were being evacuated from the back door of the building, Geo TV reported.

KARACHI: Police said all four militants that attacked the busy Pakistan Stock Exchange Monday morning have been killed as four security guards and a police sub-inspector were martyred in the attack.

The militants launched a grenade attack at the main gate of the building and attempted to storm the building after opening indiscriminate fire. SSP City Muqaddas Haider said that seven injured persons had been shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.

The PSX building and surrounding areas were sealed by law enforcement agencies. People inside the PSX building were evacuated from the back door.

"An unfortunate incident took place at the Pakistan Stock Exchange," said Abid Ali Habib, Director Pakistan Stock Exchange. "They made their way from our parking area and opened fire on everyone."

He said that the militants had stormed the Railway Ground parking area and fired outside the PSX ground. They made their way to the main gate of the building and stormed it after trading fire with security guards.

Habib said that the firing by militants caused panic among the people in the building.

He said that the militants had stormed the Railway Ground parking area and fired outside the ground of the PSX, adding that the firing by militants caused panic among the people in the building.

Speaking to Geo TV, the Inspector-General Karachi said that the situation was under control and all militants had been killed in the attack. He said that Rangers and police officials had entered the building and were conducting a search operation.

According to the IG, the attackers were reportedly wearing clothes usually worn by police officials while they are off-duty.

At least two attackers are seen disembarking from a blue sedan with weapons amidst sporadic firing in an unverified amateur video of the attack being shared on social media.

Police said the militants conducted the assault with sophisticated weapons and were carrying a bag that probably held explosives.

"All militants involved in the Pakistan Stock Exchange attack have been killed," said Sindh Rangers.

CTD's Raja Omar Khattab said that police would try to find out details about the car used by the owner. CCTV cameras are being monitored by law enforcement agencies to obtain clues.

LEAs have seized AK-47 rifles, hand grenades, magazines and other explosive material from the attackers.

The RAW are capable of launching a grenade attack in the heart of Pakistan's commercial capital? Seriously? And the ISI can do nothing but watch?

I didn't know the RAW had such a phenomenal reach that they can strike at the heart of Pakistan with such impunity.

Sad for the two innocent civilians who lost their lives though. Such collateral damage is simply not acceptable.

They've been getting pretty good at killing the terrorists and ending the terrorist attacks fairly quickly in the recent past. 4 terrorists is not a small number, and to get rid of them quickly is quite difficult.

Indians acting innocent again. This is one skill they've wonderfully mastered, along with boasting about themselves and their country.

Seems like there was also an attack on Lahore airport and the Chinese consulate in Karachi

The problem I still is that, when an attack happens in India, they shout all over the media and internet about Pakistan. I am talking about specifically the Indian state. Meantime, our state barely ever mentions India. It's been over 10 years since India started doing large scale frequent terror attacks in Pakistan, and barely anyone in the government has spoken about it. We know the NS government had business dealings in India, hence he was likely putting his own personal interests first as opposed to Pakistani interests.

But IK has barely done this either. Pakistan needs to relentlessly talk about Indian sponsored terrorism and repeat it where-ever possible. Do not mention Kashmir at the same time. Just talk about state sponsorship of terrorism India has perpetrated within the non-disputed territory of Pakistan. The way they tried to associate us with terrorism, make sure the same happens to them.

At least seven people have been killed in an attack on the Pakistan Stock Exchange building in the country's financial hub of Karachi, officials said.

The dead include a policeman, two guards and the four attackers, rescue service chief Faisal Edhi told Al Jazeera on Monday. Seven others were wounded, including at least two policemen.

The gunmen attacked the building with grenades and guns. The building is in a high-security zone and also houses the head offices of many private banks.

"Two [attackers] were killed at the gate, and two of them went inside in an injured state and were then killed there," Edhi said, speaking to reporters close to the site of the attack in Karachi's main business district.

Abid Habib, director of the Pakistan Stock Exchange, was in his office when the attack started. He told the local media he is holed up with 20 other staff members as paramilitary officers clear the building.

"At 10am (05:00 GMT), one car came inside the building [complex] and by force they entered the building and randomly started firing," he said.

"There was gunfire... and suddenly everyone was rushing to the windows to see what is happening. Because the firing was close by, everyone was very worried and we closed our outside doors."

Local media aired visuals showing law enforcement agencies clearing the area after intermittent gunfire and explosions were heard from the premises.

More than 1,000 traders and staff were present in the building at the time of attack, according to the reports.

Fortunately Pakistani security forces were skilled enough to take out the 4 terrorists within minutes prevent a large mass killing

100%. Almost all tribes, 48/49 out f 50 have put down arms. Only one or two haven't and openly admire India.

Also India is the same nation which helped forment trouble in 1971. That goes beyond anything we have ever done to them.

If China puts them in a position where we can take advantage, like Siachen, we should take it. I still want peace with India more than anything and I hope to see it one day but its not happening under the BJP Hitler.

Security forces killed four terrorists who attempted to storm the Pakistan Stock Exchange compound in Karachi in a gun and grenade attack on Monday morning.

According to a police statement, one sub inspector and four security guards were martyred in the attack. Three police officials have been injured, the statement said. One citizen was also killed in the attack.

Police surgeon Dr Qarar Ahmed Abbasi said that seven bodies and seven injured, including policemen, have been brought at the Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi.

Initial reports said that four terrorists, a little before 10am, came out of their vehicle and threw grenades at the compound's entrance. They then opened fire and attempted to enter the compound but were killed by security forces.

Police and Rangers officials arrived at the scene soon after the attack and killed all four attackers, Sindh Rangers said. A clearance operation is underway in the vicinity.

Police said that advanced weaponry, hand grenades and explosive material has been recovered from the terrorists' custody. Security forces are also examining a "suspected car" parked outside PSX.

Additional inspector general of Police, Karachi has directed to tighten the security of all important offices and trading centres across the city.

PSX Managing Director Farrukh Khan termed the attack "unfortunate" and praised the security forces for their timely response. While speaking to Geo News, he said the number of people in the compound was lower than normal — usually close to 6,000 — since many employees were working from home due to Covid-19.

He said that the terrorists were intercepted outside the entrance and only one of them had entered the compound, and that also "only a few steps". None of them entered the trading hall or the building, said Khan, added that trading had not stopped and was still continuing.

The attackers were armed with grenades and automatic rifles, police said. They launched the attack by opening fire at the entrance of the Pakistan Stock Exchange and attempted to enter the compound but were killed by security forces.

Rizwan Ahmend, a police official at the scene, told AP that food supplies were found on the bodies of the gunmen, indicating they may have planned a long siege, which police quickly thwarted.

Inside the stock exchange, broker Yaqub Memon told AP that he and others were huddled inside their offices while the attack was underway.

Sindh Inspector General of Police Mushtaq Mahar demanded a report of the incident from the DIG South.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah condemned the incident, saying that the attack was "akin to an attack on national security and economy".

"Anti-state elements want to take advantage of the virus situation," he said in the statement.

He lauded the "prompt action" by police and Rangers and directed all law enforcement agencies to be more vigilant.

Sindh Governor Imran Ismail condemned the incident, saying: "We shall protect Sindh at all costs."

The security worked, they literally prevented them from entering and killed all four gunment, I don't believe any civilians died, that's impressive considering there were about a thousand civilians inside. This is an example of great security, Idk what you expect them to do.

At least seven people have been killed after gunmen stormed the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) in the southern city of Karachi, firing indiscriminately as they entered the building complex, rescue officials say.

Four attackers stormed the building at 10am (05:00 GMT) Monday morning as trading began, carrying hand grenades and firing automatic rifles.

All four attackers had been killed by police and security forces responding to the attack, said Faisal Edhi, head of the Edhi charity and ambulance service which serves the city.

"The attackers had hand grenades with them. Two of them were killed at the gate, and two were killed further inside the building complex," said Edhi, whose office is located opposite the PSX in Karachi's main commercial district.

"We were hearing explosions going off [from our building]," he said.

The dead include the four attackers, a policeman and two civilians, said Edhi. Seven others had also been wounded in the attack, he said.

The Baloch Liberation Army armed group claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement released while the security operation to clear the building was ongoing.

"Majeed brigade of Baloch Liberation Army today has carried out a self-sacrificing attack on Karachi stock exchange," read the statement, emailed to Al Jazeera.

'We are all terrified'
Witnesses who were working inside the building at the time of the attack described hearing heavy gunfire and explosions as the attackers entered the complex.

"We are all terrified," said Abid Habib, director of the Exchange. "There was gunfire and everything, and suddenly everyone was rushing to the windows to see what is happening.

"Because the firing was close by, everyone was very worried, and we closed our outside doors."

Security forces responded to the attack, and paramilitary Rangers were clearing the building, Habib said.

Video footage of the attack - shot by an office worker in a building opposite the PSX complex and obtained by Al Jazeera - showed four attackers dismount from a car and take up positions at a security barrier to the building, firing at security guards.

Trails of blood were splattered across the stairs and an adjoining corridor of the building, two other videos and images sent by workers inside the building showed.

The PSX is Pakistan's main stock exchange, with more than 2,000 employees normally working in the building for the Exchange and associated trading companies.

Employee turnout was lower on Monday due to the coronavirus pandemic, with many companies opting to allow their workers to work from home, said Habib.

Trading on the PSX continued uninterrupted throughout the attack on Monday, traders and equity analysts told Al Jazeera, as the stock exchange operates through an online system.

Even if they were inside, the gunmen would still fire from outside. And yes there's one civilian fatality but it could have been more if there was poor security, they prevented a mass killing a la APS.

Pakistan attack: 'Gunmen killed' in raid on stock exchange in Karachi

Gunmen have attacked the Pakistani stock exchange in the southern city of Karachi, killing at least two people and injuring others, local media report.

The assailants stormed the exchange after launching a grenade attack at the main gate to the building.

Latest reports quote police saying officers have killed all four heavily armed gunmen and are combing the area.

Militants from the Baloch Liberation Army say they were behind the attack.

Ethnic Baloch groups have fought a long-running insurgency for a separate homeland and a greater share of resources in Pakistan's Balochistan province.

Pakistan has suffered years of militant violence, mostly by Islamist groups, but attacks such as this one have become rare in recent years.

'They opened fire on everyone'
Monday's attack began when the militants armed with automatic rifles threw a grenade and then began firing at a security post outside the stock exchange.

"They had come in a silver Corolla car," Karachi police chief Ghulam Nabi Memon later told Reuters.

Guards fought back, killing all four attackers, the authorities say, but police officers and security personnel are feared to be among the casualties.

It is not clear if more assailants were involved and a search of the premises is continuing. The Pakistan Stock Exchange said in a statement that the situation was "still unfolding".

Its director, Abid Ali Habib, said the gunmen made their way from the car park and "opened fire on everyone".

Reports say most people managed to escape or hide in locked rooms. Those inside the building were being evacuated from the back door, Geo TV reported.

The stock exchange has offices for hundreds of financial institutions and is situated in a high security zone along with head offices of banks and other businesses.

It's money. Simple and mundane money/dinero.

In Altaf/MQM's case nothing idealistic.

No proof at all except AH saying Pakistan was a mistake, asking for Indian help....he could be snogging Modi in public and you'd be asking for proof.

You're as bad as the BJP paid trolls, I didn't before but now you're on my ignore list. You join Joshila, PMLN and their cohorts on it. Welcome.

Tbh it could be anyone, there are groups in balochistan and inside sindh as well the tribal areas near afghanistan that could have done this but one thing is certain, the common thread is India. India has and will support ethnofascists in pak.

Yes, this is India. Anything to do with BLA, which is all but dead except for the one or two tribes who openly beg India for help and the fact Yadav was caught in Balochistan...anything to do with BLA is India.

Right, and thats why in any high profile building like a stock exchange it wont hurt to have some security inside like police/rangers inside the building. Imagine if there were like 20 of them instead of 4. They might have been able to take hostages. But with that said the security did a good job.

Whats the solution for those one or two tribes?

Salute to the security forces who neutralized the terrorists.

“There is no power on Earth that can undo Pakistan.”

Pakistan Zindabad!

Whats the solution for those one or two tribes?

There is no solution, per se.
They are free to praise India as long as they don't break any laws.
Just ignore them and move on.

Yup. Overtime they will lay down arms as well. But this move has to be repaid. If we can take advantage of China blocking India in Siachen we 100 percent should. If it was any leader than Modi I wouldn't say this but the BJP Hitler needs to be shown his place.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan condemned the terrorist attack on the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Monday, saying the whole nation was proud of the soldiers who bravely fought militants off to avert massive casualties.

“Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan condemns the terrorist attack on the Karachi Stock Exchange. The security forces bravely fought the enemy and thwarted the attack,” PTI’s Shahbaz Gill said in a tweet.

Gill added the whole nation was proud of its brave soldiers. “I have extended my heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs and pray for the recovery of the injured.”

Four terrorists were killed by the police around 10am today after they opened fire and killed four security guards and a police sub-inspector.

Armed militants stormed the PSX compound in a sedan and attempted to enter it from the parking ground side, according to initial reports and eyewitness statements. They were seen shouldering backpacks and carrying automatic weaponry in an amateur video captured by an eyewitness. The equipment, arms, and ammunition recovered from them indicated that they had come prepared for a long siege.

Not a single terrorist entered the PSX building: DIG South

It was a terrorist attack, there's no doubt about it," said DIG South. Since security was beefed up, all four terrorists were not able to enter the building, they were stopped outside," he added.

The DIG South said that the blood being shown on media, inside the PSX building, was of a security guard and not the militants who had attempted to enter the building.

Kharal thanked security agencies for sharing intelligence about a probable attack which helped thwart massive casualties. He said that if it were not for the security guards who laid down their lives in the attack and the police as well as rangers personnel who acted swiftly, the situation could have gotten out of hand.

Once again commending the efforts put in by the law enforcement agencies, Kharal said that trading had not stopped for even a second whilst the attack took place.

KARACHI: Politicians took to Twitter to strongly condemn the Pakistan Stock Exchange attack that took place on Monday in which four militants were killed and four security guards along with one police officer embraced martyrdom.

Sindh Governor Imran Ismail strongly condemned the attack on the Stock Exchange and said the attack was aimed at “tarnishing our relentless war on terror.”

“Strongly condemn the attack on PSX aimed at tarnishing our relentless war on terror. Have instructed the IG & security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators are caught alive and their handlers are accorded exemplary punishments. We shall protect Sindh at all costs,” he tweeted.

Sindh chief minister called for an immediate inquiry report into the attack while appreciating the timely action taken by the police and rangers to thwart off the attack.

“Chief Minister Sindh has directed all law enforcement agencies to be more vigilant,” a tweet from the CM House read.

The CM House further added that Murad had said a detailed inquiry should be held into the attack and the report be submitted to him.

PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz said the attack of this scale which was planned and executed was “unsettling”.

“Salam to the brave sons of soil who foiled a major terrorist attack that could have been catastrophic. The fact that an attack of such magnitude was planned and executed is extremely unsettling. Bad news,” she said.

“Nawaz Sharif had worked so hard to eradicate terrorism but under Niazi, the law and order situation in the country has started deteriorating again. This government is failing in every field,” she tweeted.

“Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan condemns the terrorist attack on the Karachi Stock Exchange. The security forces bravely fought the enemy and thwarted the attack,” he tweeted.

Gill added the whole nation was proud of its brave soldiers. “I have extended my heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs and pray for the recovery of the injured.”

“Well done Sindh Rangers. However, reports coming in say fice people have died and many are injured. My prayers for the families of the affected. Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un,” he tweeted.

Aseefa Bhutto Zardari saluted all the brave officers who fought back and killed the terrorists.

“Strongly condemn the cowardly attack on Pakistan Stock Exchange in Karachi. Salute our brave officers who fought back and killed the terrorists. Reports still coming in about loss of innocent lives, praying for the victims of the terrible attack and their families,” she said.

Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un.
May Allah grant Jannat to all of our Shaheeds that died today. You could see it coming after the Ladakh humiliation at the hands of the Chinese.

RIP to dead innocents and no mercy to terrorists. I urge some here to first show respect and then continue ranting and putting your POV.

If you keep nurturing venomous snakes they turn and bite you one day. It happened earlier with taliban an opinionated group.

Now it’s BLA. With ccp China in tow if you capture all rich natural resources of balochistan I think they feel they have to fight back. It’s very evident how they are oppressed. But this violent way of revolt is not helping anyone and should be nipped in bud. Chinese will be least bothered they kill their own people to achieve something.

I think it’s time for Pakistan leadership to talk to balochis and not oppress them more.

Four gunmen attacked the Pakistani stock exchange in Karachi, killing at least two people and wounding others before police shot them dead.

The assailants launched a grenade attack at the main gate to the building and opened fire but police say they failed to make it to the trading floor.

Staff inside took refuge in locked rooms and many were evacuated. Security forces are searching the area.

"The attackers came in a silver Corolla and were stopped by police at the gate outside where the exchange of fire took place," Sindh police additional inspector general Ghulam Nabi Memon told BBC Urdu.

Guards fought back, killing all four heavily armed attackers, the authorities say, but police officers and security personnel are feared to be among the casualties.

Mr Memon said the attackers did not manage to enter the main building and grenades, explosives and other weapons were recovered from them. The Pakistan Stock Exchange confirmed that no militants made it into the building.

Its director, Abid Ali Habib, said the gunmen made their way from the car park and "opened fire on everyone".

Images from the scene show the bodies of a number of men on the ground next to large amounts of ammunition and weapons. It is not clear if more assailants were involved and a search of the premises is continuing.

Reports say most people managed to escape or hide in locked rooms. Those inside the building were being evacuated from the back door, Geo TV reported.

Trading continued without interruption.

The stock exchange has offices for hundreds of financial institutions and is situated in a high security zone along with head offices of banks and other businesses.

The exchange says it has up to 8,000 people working there on a normal day but numbers were down because of home working during the coronavirus pandemic.

Why are Baloch groups fighting?

The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) is one of half a dozen armed resistance groups in Balochistan and has launched previous attacks in Pakistan.

In 2018 its members tried to storm the Chinese consulate in Karachi, killing at least four people. All staff inside the building were unharmed.

Last year the BLA attacked a five-star hotel in the port city of Gwadar in Balochistan. The hotel is the centrepiece of a multi-billion-dollar Chinese project and was selected in order to target Chinese and other investors.

Separatist militants in Balochistan oppose Chinese investment, saying it is of little benefit to local people.

The BLA originally sought political autonomy for the province but has gradually evolved into a violent armed separatist movement and is listed as a terrorist organisation by Pakistan, the UK and the US. Widescale abuses and repression by the Pakistani military have been documented over decades in the province, which is difficult to access by journalists and human rights groups.

Balochistan is a sparsely populated region, and the BLA and other militants have sanctuaries there and in adjoining areas in Pakistan. They also are believed to have hideouts in south-eastern Afghanistan.

The province remains Pakistan's most impoverished area despite being rich in gas and coal reserves, as well as copper and gold. Baloch nationalists have long accused the central government of exploitation, and denying the province its due rights.

Well done to the security forces. It takes years of hardwork to earn good repute and all of that can be taken away in an instant.

This is with the security situation of Pakistan currently, it has taken years and still ongoing to bring the positive image of Pakistan out and had there been a major disaster today then it would have shed a dark image on Pakistan's security situation which would have then taken more years to overcome.

Sometimes its not enough how much we praise our security forces in this sort of situation. It doesn't need to be Rangers even the guards guarding the entrance of PSX should be praised a lot more. We do not know what happened but something tells me the guards at the entrance were heroic and they should be thanked.

I also want to point out that there is absence of posters and constructive discussion from this thread. But something also tells me that should this attack been a major disaster this thread would have been multiple pages by now. This is what our society has come down too, we all want to contribute fuel to fire but no one has time to contribute on progressive outcomes.

Reminder:

According to reports, there is evidence to suggest that in the past, BLA leadership had visited and stayed in India to seek medical treatment, often with a fake identity.

“It is known that the Baloch sardars like the late Akbar Bugti and Ghaus Bukhsh Bizenjo maintained warm personal ties with various Indian political figures,” reported The Hindu.

“However, visits by militants are often under assumed identities unlike those by prominent well known leaders,” it added.

Real life hero.

The Baluchis have been robbed by the sardars. I think it's time IK became more active in Balochistan and put an end to these crooks, who have stolen trillions from the poor of Balochistan.

I hope the families of the poor security guards are financially compensated for their irreplaceable lost. I urge all on here to read fatiha for all these heroes.

The food supplies has got me thinking the terrorists were prepared to do some major damage. Salute to our security forces for their bravery and efforts.

The only person courageous enough to take stern action against these Baloch Sardars was Musharraf. That’s how they need to be dealt with.

Also the ordinary ppl across the country needs to be freed from these Sardars, Tribal leaders and Wadera shahi. Without this the underlying frustration of common ppl wont go away and country wont progress.

Totally agree, the Sardars in Balochistan, the Waderas in Sindh and parts of Punjab need to be destroyed. The common in those areas mostly lives in servitude to these thugs.

When there are similar attacks in India, like in Pulwama last year, when people ask the same questions how it is possible for Pakistan to do this and that, I don't see many replies then. Make up your mind. You can't always have it in the way you want.

Inna lilahi wa inna illayhi rajioon. May Allah provide patience and strength to the families who have lost their loved one today.

Could have been much worse had there not been timely intervention of the rangers and security personnel. Brave souls!

this is crazy, but given the tensions in the humsaya mulk, no surprise either, and the efficient response of the security teams suggest there was preparedness.

full props to all involved, this could have been a very ugly situation, but it was handled superbly.

RIP to the victims and glad the terrorists are put in their place.

I hope it’s clear for people what a terrorist is and there are no false equivalence drawn here by calling them freedom fighters and compare them with Mandela, Bhagat Singh etc here like it’s the case for few other terrorists.

Oh I see inserting all the keywords here “Modi and RSS and BJP and Yogi and Hindutva” are responsible for this.

So based on my understanding you seem to think Modi has this remote were whenever he is in trouble he just clicks the remote and there is a terrorist act in Pakistan. You are telling me there is no conflict in Balochistan and everything is rosy there?

By the way no defense for this act. To me a terrorist is a terrorist. Good for the Pak police or army or whoever that handled the situation

BLA's links to India are pretty clear, to be honest.

China condemns PSX attack, reaffirms support to Pakistan against terrorism

(Karachi) China has condemned attack on Pakistan Stock Exchange that claimed lives of seven people including security guards and police official, media has reported.

In a statement, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China stated that it condemns the terrorist attack on PSX in which innocent lives were lost. It added that China will continue to support Pakistan on its stance against terrorism.

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) was under attack on Monday after four terrorists laden with sophisticated weapons stormed into the building from the parking area.

Some eleven persons including two civilians, four security guards of PSX, and one Police Sub Inspector embraced martyrdom, while four terrorists have also been killed in the firing and hand grenade attacks.

The India-linked Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed the responsibility of attacking the PSX building.

The organization has also issued the list of the terrorists involved in today's attack. Members included Tasleem Baloch, Shehzad Baloch, Salman Hammal and Siraj Kungur.

President Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan, Governor Sindh Imran Ismail and Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah condemned the attack on PSX, saying that the attack was aimed at tarnishing Pakistan's 'relentless war on terror'.

In all fairness this is a valid point (to some extent). In the end it all boils down to when exactly is a struggle genuinely a freedom fight?

Is religion the only and valid criteria for defining a ‘Qom’? If not, is the partition of India based on a valid argument?

Anything else people will carry on being hypocrites and just looking things from their own perspective.

Om Shanti to the departed.

I must say the damage has been reduced significantly because a similar situation in 2008 resulted in way more casualities in Mumbai. Respect to the brave security people at KSE. Stay safe.

Yeah, just like ISI was capable of holding the Taj hotel in Mumbai for 3 days.

It is an established fact that India is behind this attack. BLA is openly backed by India. They tried to attack Stock Exchange, and instead Stock Exchange went positive in response. A display of Pakistani resilience. We need to hit back and let it be known to chaiwala that his actions have repercussions.

All 4 terrorists killed in attempt to storm Pakistan Stock Exchange compound in Karachi: Rangers

Security forces killed four terrorists who attempted to storm the Pakistan Stock Exchange compound in Karachi in a gun and grenade attack on Monday morning.

According to a police statement, one sub-inspector and three security guards were martyred in the attack. Seven people, including three police officials, have been injured, the statement said.

The attackers, armed with grenades and automatic rifles, launched the attack and attempted to enter the PSX compound, which is in a high-security zone that also houses the head offices of several banks.

Security personnel, including police and Rangers, intercepted the attackers and killed all four of them, Sindh Rangers said. A clearance operation was conducted later.

Police said that advanced weaponry, hand grenades and explosive material was recovered from the terrorists' custody. Officials of the Bomb Disposal Unit also arrived at the scene of the attack and scoured the site, including a "suspected car" parked outside PSX that may have been used by the terrorists, for any explosive material.

The Karachi additional inspector general of police directed officials to tighten the security of all important offices and trading centres across the city after the attack.

Rizwan Ahmed, a police official at the scene, told AP that food supplies were found on the bodies of the gunmen, indicating they may have planned a long siege, which police quickly thwarted.

Inside the stock exchange, broker Yaqub Memon told AP that he and others were huddled inside their offices while the attack was underway.

BLA is openly backed by India, India is directly responsible for this attack. We need to hit back.
