[VIDEOS] Punjabi singer and Congress leader Sidhu Moosewala shot dead

Newsflash: UP is still a mess and it's the last state in this country where you want to be born in or live in.

UP is still a mess but there has been improvement and visible action against criminals.

Data from the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) shows that serious crimes such as murder (-23 percent), kidnapping (-19 percent), rioting (-24 percent), rape (-43 percent) have witnessed a decline during Adityanath’s tenure.

Would be some form of irony that the Canadians would refuse to etradite Brar to India because of the death penalty over there, after he has dished out his own death penalty to an Indian citizen.

True. But didn’t the UK also refuse to deport someone charged by the FBI for crimes in the US, on the grounds of death penalty. They finally agreed and a deal was signed. It must have been quite recent as I remember this fairly well.

I believe this has mainly been a concern of western governments lately. Even the tories seem to have some principles, though of course that doesn’t matter if the person is no t white (Rwanda plan) or Iranian (the poor lady in the Iranian prison because the UK refused to return Iran’s money)

I do not know how has UP changed in the last 5 years since I haven’t lived there for a long time. But I do know that the last time I drove from Delhi to Gkp (Bisht’s own constituency) I wasn’t comfortable at all and came across quite a few Gunda types Roaming without fear. The only difference was that they all had some form of saffron scarf.

So, by the looks of it, nothing has changed in the last 25 years, with the exception that all Gunda types now wear a saffron scarf
This is true. I'd say UP is even more lawless than Bihar which is some 'achievement'.

The difference in UP is for all to see. I regularly visit Varanasi and it has totally transformed. Crime has gone down drastically.

Welcome to the world of Gangsta Rap - glorification of Guns, Violence, And Drugs. The only worse genre is Drill music, which was rightly banned in the UK.

Bring a member of a gang, composing diss tracks, parading guns and ammo, then you are asking for trouble. Tupac, B.I.G, Soulja Slim, Houdini, and Lil Phat to name but a few all suffered the same fate.

This is why Trance/Techno is awesome, PLUR; dropping beats, not bombs.

Plus, this so called new age Bhangra/Punjabi tracks do not hold a candle to the old skool of Alaap and Shakti, Sagoo etc. You only have to see the music videos these days to see how Bhangra/Punjabi tracks now parade women as sexual objects in their videos, along with guns and ammo.

Awful news this.

However are we sure this was gang related and not politically motivated?

Thousands of mourners on Tuesday lined the roads for the cremation of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, who was shot dead over the weekend. He was 28.
The singer was dressed as a groom, per a ritual followed in Punjab after a young unmarried man dies, and his body was taken for cremation on a trolley decorated with flowers and pulled by a tractor - reportedly the singer's favourite one.

Pictures showed a turban was tied on the singer's head along with a sehra, which a Punjabi groom wears before leaving for the bride's home. The singer's father, Balkour Singh, was even seen fixing his son's moustache.

The singer's final song, "The Last Ride", included the line: "The glow on the man's face tells you that he'll die young."

That song was a homage to American rapper Tupac Shakur, who was shot dead in his car in 1996 at the age of 25.

The singer's parents were inconsolable as they sat beside the body at their home.

Reports say the parents had been planning for their son's wedding.

Some of the singer's fans wore T-shirts with Moose Wala's picture printed on them. The singer's father even took off his turban on seeing the sea of mourners.

The police have linked the singer's death to inter-gang rivalry.

Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, known as Sidhu Moose Wala, was shot dead on Sunday by unidentified gunmen in Punjab's Mansa district. His cousin and a friend, who were travelling in a Mahindra Thar jeep with him, were also injured in the attack.

On Monday, Punjab Police detained six people from Uttarakhand.

The popular Punjabi singer had fought the recent assembly election in Punjab on a Congress ticket.

Yeah that newsflash maybe broadcasted in some of your third rate regional South Indian channel. In real world, UP has transformed totally under Yogi Adityanath. Anyone who thinks otherwise is in delusion.

Which channel in United Kingdom showed this and when are you coming back to UP? :inti

How many of those murderers, kidnappers, rioters and rapists have joined BJP as party workers?

Awful news this.

However are we sure this was gang related and not politically motivated?

Frustrated BJP politicians and andhbhakhts are trying too hard to blame AAP for this and giving it a political angle.

The Punjab government ordered withdrawal of security cover of 424 people on Friday and the concerned police personnel were directed to report to special DGP at Jalandhar Cantt. The people whose security has been taken away include retired police officers, religious and political leaders.

Moose wala never used women as sexual objects in his songs. It was very very rare.

Punjab Police has arrested a person named Manpreet Singh, who was detained from Uttarakhand. He was produced before the court and has been sent to 5 days police remand: Source

Answer my question first then I will answer yours. :inti

Your question dosen't even arise. Bhagwant Mann, the AAP Chief Minister of Punjab removed his security. So the question of how long AAP is in power is moot point.

Anyway, lets see how they handle Punjab. I have no love loss for Congress but AAP is equally worse. They hide under 'Delhi police comes under central govt' drama for too long. Now they got a proper state to manage and I will wait to see how they go about it.

New Delhi: Security for jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, leader of a criminal gang which claimed responsibility for the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, has been raised in Delhi's Tihar prison, sources said. He had yesterday gone to court in a bid to stop the Punjab Police from taking him with them as he fears he would be killed in an "encounter". Surveillance has also been increased inside the prison on a day when thousands gathered for the last rites of the singer at his native village in Punjab today.
Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar, who has claimed responsibility for Moose Wala's murder, is a close aide of Bishnoi.

The singer was shot at least 30 times from an automatic assault rifle while he was driving his SUV.

Lawrence Bishnoi is a former Delhi University student leader. His lawyer denied his involvement and questioned: "How can such a huge murder conspiracy be planned from jail?"

The Punjab police suspect gang rivalry behind Sidhu Moose Wala's killing. Investigations reveal Goldy Brar was in touch with someone inside Tihar jail.

Bishnoi has been serving time in Delhi's Tihar Jail in an organised crime case under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, or MCOCA, which has very tough conditions for granting bail.

The special cell of Delhi police had questioned him in Tihar jail yesterday where he is lodged in a high-security ward.

According to sources from the special cell, they questioned Lawrence Bishnoi, Kala Jatheri, and Kala Rana -- all lodged in Tihar.

The Delhi police special cell team has left for Punjab now.

A key suspect, who is reportedly a member of the Bishnoi gang, was yesterday detained from Uttarakhand's Dehradun in a joint operation by the state police and their Punjab counterparts. Five other people were also detained along with the main suspect. All of them are being interrogated by the Punjab police.

I get it, you like to make post but cant reply back when counter and look to divert

Your own post contradicts your opinion. No need to counter.

You went from ‘never’ to ‘rare’, meaning it does happen.

Happy listening to baqwaas rap, along with a dictionary.

Come back when you can counter the facts.

It just shows you how news can be misinterpreted very quickly. Pakistanis are starting to make up scenarios based on speculation.

Hopefully next time there is a tragic situation in Pakistan you will bear this is in mind when Indians make things up. Both are as bad as each other.

I had never heard about this guy Moosewala before but looked him up - so he was a gang member moonlighting as a rapper involved in the killing of a rival member gang & they killed him in retaliation. Why so much grieving on the death of such a guy?

have you seen his music videos? He didn't objectify women . Yes he does have women in his music videos but not shown as sexual objects..

Atleast do view things before making your assumptions to diss the dead

There’s no assumption in gangsta rap. Gangsta rap was around before you were born, its objective is to seek an identity by glorifying violence and mysoginy. Your boy was trying to imitate the style, persona, content, of Amreekan gangsta rappers.

You live by the sword, you die by the sword.

On a side note, the fact you endorse gangsta rap kind of explains why you justify the mafia actions of political parties.

Just saying.

Even though he is from Pakistan and has no connection with AAP he does have a point. BJP can stoop to any level. All those who live in India are aware of this.

The kind of comments andhbhakhts are posting on social media regarding Sidhu's murder are shocking. Some of them are calling him Khalistani and expressing their happiness over his death. If this is why you left India then you did the right thing.

You can continue showing your fake love towards India from outside.

Actually he has no point. Just like you are accusing Bhakts of jumping the gun and accusing AAP, it works for other side as well. Without even knowing the killer or what prompted the attack, he blamed Modi/BJP when they have no connection with Punjab at all. That is called desperation but ofcourse you are too biased (and blind) to see it.

He propagated gangster ism in the name of entertainment. Many pics of him holding weapons and encouraging violence. One of the many enemies he must have had took care off him in more ways then one. On a side note I have always hated such cheap bhangra music.

Lol this is what's popping in Eastern Europe :))

Whether you like it or not, most Brits hate this music especially when it's played in bars and clubs. They prefer RNB and Hip-Hop. This isn't Prague or Budapest.

You can make fun of his music but I can bet bottom dollar that most Brits (of non-Asian background) would rather listen to Sidhu over whatever substandard rubbish that you're blasting out in those late night club sessions of yours.

The fact that Drake, who happens to be the most popular artist in the game right now, mourning over his demise and also happened to be one of his followers on Instagram exposes his success in the music industry and your failures in it.

Sidhu was said to have links with Khalistan supporters too. Recently some gangster made it clear that they would get him by hook or by crook. Even in his pics he is posing as holding a rifle so if you live by the sword then you die by it too. The police removed the security believing the threats to him were not serious enough.

Music should be about tolerance, love and acceptance instead of the opposite like he was giving us. Supporting a political movement is one thing where as he was encouraging violence in his lyrics that I hate. These Khalistani Sikh's do seem very inspired by black American rappers in their love of gangster culture, Idiots!

If Khalistan is ever established it will not be because of such cheap songs. There needs to be a massive political movement much like the Pakistan movement of the 1930's/40's that bought India to it's knee's. Gurdas Maan songs are much better then those of this black American wannabe.

I can say that at least on this forum, he will be glorified because he was a megastar from India who acknowledged his fans in Pakistan. He also promised to tour Pakistan. That would have been huge considering how famous he was across the world

Nope

Nothing to do with pakistan, people didnt even care whether he loved pakistan or not.

Pakistanis, especialy in the punjab part loved his music. His music was considered more cooler than other punjabi songs.

In the past, punjabis didnt take that much pride in their culture, but such music allowed many pakistani punjabis to own their culture.

His music was hit with both urban and rural punjabis in Pakistan.

New Delhi: Days after Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead, a social media post by a handle linked to gangster Neeraj Bawana has threatened a retaliatory attack.

A Facebook story by the handle yesterday said, "Sidhu Moose Wala was heart, brother. Will give a result in two days."

The post tags Neeraj Bawana, who faces several cases of murder and ransom and is currently in Tihar jail, his associate Tillu Tajpuriya and gangster Davinder Bambiha, also in jail.

While it is not clear who wrote the post, it is being linked to Neeraj Bawana, whose aides are spread across Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan.

All these gangsters are such a menace especially in Delhi-NCR. Not a day passes when you don't get to hear about the 'exploits' of these gangsters.

Sidhu Moosewaala was deeply problematic character. His music promoted guns, violence and toxic masculinity. Ironically he himself became victim of the gun and gangster culture he promoted through his music. Singers like Moosewaala have a very negative impact on their society. Imagine the impact on the youth of Punjab listening to Mossewaala music and believing guns and gangster culture is so cool !

Its funny how desis condemn the gun culture in the USA while loving Moosewala for glorifying the same gun culture

This is why AP Singh is like breath of fresh air. Decent music with no mention of guns and gangsters

Maybe for you living in Pakistan it isnt a big deal

But for those who are living abroad and see how the west/global superstars ignore Pakistan completely whilst regularly performing, visiting India it is quite a big deal for a Star of MooseWala's stature to show love and respect towards his fans in Pakistan. If he actually visited and performed in Lahore, it would probably have been the biggest superstar in the last decade (pre mumbai attacks) to have visited and performed in Pakistan. It was a massive deal!

My point is, his support from pakistan was because of his music and nothing else

Than thats sad. That people of punjab or India don't care about who sidhu moose wala was and how widespread his music was.

For all the problems in pakistan, if such a big legend was murdered cold blooded, people would had come out on the street for him and seek justice.

Maybe india never valued him.

WEll he was not a legend in Indian Punjab.. Popular yes.. Legend no.
Gurdas Maan is a legend of Punjabi Music.
Besides, These guys dissed other gangsters in songs and challenged etc.. With Moosewala also being involved in buying and firing illegal guns. So, If two gangsters fight and kill each other, normal people would not bother

All these gangsters are such a menace especially in Delhi-NCR. Not a day passes when you don't get to hear about the 'exploits' of these gangsters.

Gangsters in NCR/ Rowdy Sheeters in Bangalore/Hyderabad.. There are criminals all over the world.
Even Australia has Gangland figures who shoot each other up in drive by shootings.

So glorification of gun cukture justify his death? Pathetic post by your as usual. Every rap music glorifies somethng, western rap is kuch worse.

How can you say no state or police can do anything? That is the most ridiculous thing i have ever read.

It is states duty to provide the right to live to everyone. State is required to provide security to everyone by implementing law and order.

You are talking as if its not the govts job to provide law and order and its free for all and whatever someone does state isnt to be blamed.

This was a very big celebrity, not some nobody. Pathetic that you can say such things, maybe you have issues with sikhs i guess

Huh ? Where did i say singing rap songs about guns caused his killing. Honey Singh/Diljit Dosanjh/Mafia Mundeer and lot of other singers have plenty of songs about Guns and Violence etc.. Rapping is all about self promotion and showing a larger than life figure.

The problem is, Hanging with wrong crowd like Moosewala was doing, Dissing Gangsters and throwing them challenges via songs etc. Well, in that case, some idiot will take it personally and shot him dead.
It is personal animosity, like a Gang War.

He was a hugely famous in Pakistan as well as in Hong Kong! A true legend of Punjabi rap.

Also, not sure why you are running away from the question. Why did Bhagwant Mann removed his security? Pls answer this.

Did you answer my question? Why would I run away from someone who himself ran away from India?

Infact I already gave answer to your question above which you also quoted and ignored deliberately

The Punjab government ordered withdrawal of security cover of 424 people on Friday and the concerned police personnel were directed to report to special DGP at Jalandhar Cantt. The people whose security has been taken away include retired police officers, religious and political leaders.

He wasn't the only one whose security was taken away.

You don't seem to have a clue about what racism is equating it with Music! Yes your beloved Sidhu lived by the sword and died by it too.

New Delhi: Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala's body had 19 bullet injury injuries and he probably died within 15 minutes of being shot, according to his autopsy report. The bullets had hit his kidneys, liver, lungs and spine.
The cause of death was "hemorrhagic shock which is due to ante mortem fire arm injuries described and sufficient to cause death in ordinary course of nature", the autopsy report said.

The autopsy, carried out by five doctors and videographed, says the maximum injuries were on the right side of Moose Wala's body.

An X-ray of the whole body was also conducted to detect projectiles, the report said. Moose Wala's red T-shirt and payjama were having blood stains and multiple holes corresponding to the injuries, the autopsy report said.

Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, known as Sidhu Moose Wala, was shot dead on Sunday - just a day after his security cover was scaled down - by unidentified gunmen in Punjab's Mansa district.

The singer, who had also contested the Punjab elections earlier this year on a Congress ticket, was travelling in his Mahindra Thar SUV to visit his aunt in Barnala village when he was shot with an automatic assault rifle by about eight to 10 men. Bullets found at the spot of the killing in Punjab's Mansa district indicate that AN 94 Russian assault rifle was also used in the attack.

A suspect detained in Uttarakhand is the first to be arrested in the case. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has ordered an investigation into why the popular rapper-singer's security was pared down. He was on the list of 424 people whose security cover was withdrawn by the Punjab police days ago. Today, the state government announced that it was restoring the security of these 424 VVIPs.

Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar has claimed responsibility for Sidhu Moose Wala's murder on Facebook. Goldy Brar is a close aide of gang leader Lawrence Bishnoi, who was taken out of Tihar jail on Tuesday for questioning.

In Sidhu Moose Wala's Killing, Plea For CBI Probe In Supreme Court

A Punjab BJP leader Friday moved the Supreme Court for a CBI investigation into the killing of singer Sidhu Moose Wala, citing suspected involvement of interstate and international gangsters in the crime.

New Delhi: A Punjab BJP leader Friday moved the Supreme Court for a CBI investigation into the killing of singer Sidhu Moose Wala, citing suspected involvement of interstate and international gangsters in the crime.
The plea filed by Jagjit Singh contended the state administration had not only "miserably failed" in preventing the crime but also the gang wars that have created "a storm of fear and terror" in Punjab.

“The way the cold-blooded killing was done in broad daylight is indicative of the fact that the state machinery in the state of Punjab has miserably failed in its duty not only to prevent the crime but also to effectively curb the menace of gang wars.

“That there is a storm of fear and terror in the state of Punjab which warrants interference by this Hon'ble Court as fundamental rights of entire population of Punjab have been jeopardized at large,” the PIL filed through advocate Namit Saxena said.

The plea alleged that despite having the knowledge about the death threats and intimidation the popular singer was receiving from international crime syndicates, the state government inaptly and without any reason curtailed his security cover and made the information public. Making public the names of the individuals whose official security was withdrawn or downgraded reflected a lapse on the part of the state government, the petition said.

It claimed Moose Wala was receiving death threats and intimidatory calls from international crime syndicates for the last two years.

The plea said Moose Wala's killing has led to a "speculative public discourse" in the media which might mislead the investigation. “....for the purpose of doing complete justice with the father of the victim and instill faith in the public, this Court ought to transfer the investigation pertaining to present FIR to the Central Bureau of Investigation.

“The accused persons have fled to various states of the country and it would be in the interest of justice if the present FIR is transferred to a central agency,” it said.

You don't seem to have a clue about what racism is equating it with Music! Yes your beloved Sidhu lived by the sword and died by it too.

Underworld contacta makes you bad?

Javed miandad would be the most eveil person and should be gunned down based on your logic

Funny how posters are blaming this on moose wala that he was part of some gang yet these people have no idea what gang he was part of..

Juat because you dont like a music genre you dont go on about saying he deserves death

People claiming they were involved in this but have not been arrested?

Strange if true.

Ironic how posters say he was promoting hate when posters call themselves sharp shooters.

Good video

Bret Hart and Sting did the sharp shooter. Are they terrorists?:warner

Sad loss to the Punjabi music lovers. His lyrics had such depth, that one gets goosebumps listening to some of his songs.

He took help of a gang to get someone killed, so moosa was no saint. That he was involved in a murder was under investigation and got coverage in Punjab local newspapers even a few months back (i had posted links of the news articles in my post). Whether he was a part of a gang or not is immaterial, he was a criminal who got someone killed. And in our part of the world it's very common for criminals to get a party ticket and become part of a political party so as to have some influence over such investigations, which is exactly what he did by joining congress.

Has this proven by the court or not?

I see many indians have issue with him due to his support for khalistan so they will say anything to hate him.

Who is hating him? He was a popular star in India, why do you think his death is getting so much coverage in India that every political party is visiting his parents. Indians are very weird that way, so many of our stars are criminals, proven by court or not, but that doesn't stop people from loving them.

Indian media has been blaming the ISI for his killing. These ISI folk keep on poking their noses everywhere:yuvi

Sidhu Moosewala killing: Lawrence Bishnoi reveals names of arms suppliers, said ‘Goldy Brar main brain behind murder’

Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has told the Delhi Police Special Cell about the hideout and names of the arms suppliers, who are based in Punjab, Haryana, Uttrakhand and Rajasthan.

Police suspect these suppliers could be the ones who helped the killer of Sidhu Moosewala -- one being headed by Ranjeet, resident of Faridkot, another Vijay, a resident of Haryana-Rajasthan Border and one more is Raka.

Sources in the Delhi Police's Special Cell have said that during questioning Lawrence Bishnoi said that 'it was Goldy Brar, a Canada-based gangster, who hatched the conspiracy to eliminate Sidhu Moosewala' and the killing was the result of gang rivalry.

The Special Cell had recently taken gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, an aide of Brar, into custody to interrogate him in the Moosewala's killing case.

The sources said that Bishnoi too has taken Brar's name as the brain behind the murder of Moosewala. Bishnoi told interrogators that Moosewala was involved in conspiracy against their gang and, hence, they wanted to kill him.

On Sunday, Bishnoi was produced before Patiala House Court, which remanded him to police custody for five more days.

"The Delhi Police didn't mention the Sidhu Moosewala case in their remand application. But he was remanded to five more days police custody," said advocate Vishal Chopra, the counsel of Bishnoi.

The sources have, however, claimed that the arms suppliers whose names have come up during the course of investigation, could be the same who supplied arms to the killer of Moosewala.

"Mukesh alias Puneet and Om alias Shakti and Harvinder of Jitender Gogi gang were held by us in April. They have told us that one Raka supplied them illegal weapons. Rohit alias Moi and Dinesh Karala who are handling Gogi gang, had helped them in procuring arms. Efforts were made to trace the source of weapon but so far no success," said a source.

Police then arrested Rohit alias Moi and interrogated him after which he broke down and disclosed that he along with other leading faction of the gang had provided weapons to Mukesh, Shakti and Harvinder through Raka after taking weapons from Lawrence Bishnoi.

An official said, "Bishnoi knows the actual source of weapons. Bishnoi knows whereabouts of Raka in areas of Delhi, Haryana, UP and Uttrakhand."

"We then arrested Bishnoi who was already in Tihar in another case. Bishnoi corroborated the disclosure statement made by accused Rohit and stated that he had supplied the weapons through Ranjeet who lives in Faridkot and Vijay who lives on Haryana-Rajasthan Border. Police staff have been sent to multiple locations in Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand in search of the co-accused. Bishnoi also disclosed that suspect Vijay brings arms and ammunition from jodhpur, Rajasthan," the official said.

“Maharashtra Home Department strengthens actor Salman Khan's security after a threat letter was sent to him and his father Salim Khan yesterday, June 5,” news agency ANI tweeted on Monday morning. On Sunday, Mumbai Police had told the agency that a probe was underway after the discovery of the letter.

A Times of India report quoted a police officer connected to the case as saying, "Salim Khan follows a morning routine where he goes for a walk on the promenade accompanied by his security personnel. There's a location where he typically takes a break. A chit had been left behind on a bench.”

Salim's security staff found the chit and gave it to him. "Moosa Wale jaisa kar dunga (Will make you like Moose Wala)," the chit read as per the report. Police are also checking the CCTV footage in the Bandstand area. Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead in Punjab last month.

There was quite a large procession commemorating him in Southhall yesterday.

Lots and lots of Sikhs.

A tourist visiting the UK for the Queens jubilee that stumbled upon this may have been wondering if they were in the right country!

The man was an international superstar for sure. Guys like Nusrat Fateh Ali and AR Rehman made south Asian music proud across the globe. Sidhu is right up there with these two legends!

You must be kidding.
