There have been 18 matches and already 13 scores of 180+, 5 of which are scores of 200 or more. With pitches only set to be slower, lower and bowlers becoming fatigued, scores could become bigger and we're only set to see more 180+ totals. There's no league in world cricket where scores are so inflated.

Why is that? Is bowling the issues? And if so ,what will India learn from this? It looks likely they will hedge their best on batting big and hoping the other batting side falters.

And what do other teams learn from this? Load their sides with batting as pitches are largely unresponsive?

The other possibility is to include dibbly dobblers as Patel has had big success so far. Chara as a leggy and Morris with his fats medium and variations have been useful too.

None of this seems to be new, the key in Indian limited overs seems to be bat bat bat...as it's always been. Or is there any space for slower bowlers?

That a team with Kolhi, ABV and Maxwell can be restricted to 120 and that it's not international class.

That Mumbai Indians are going to beat every team in this world 10-0 in a 10 match series

They were playing at very slow pitches.Mi is filled with heavy Hitters.i am pretty sure team like England and west indies will struggle similarly.

Nothing!!! We just don't have it. Apart from Babar (Accumulator), Hit and miss Fakhar and Rizwan we don't have any single decent batsman in our domestic. Unfortunately our players don't have any batting talent to born with.

Mamoon - hello! I only see glimpses of a couple of matches per year from the IPL, but all I can see is this - mediocrity, cringefest!
Poor fielding from second rung Indian newbies, loose bowling from again some overhyped rookies, full tosses, overstepping, edges flying off, fickle fans - poor quality ! there are strategically placed strategic timeouts just after an injury ( tv adverts during the injury followed by tv adverts during the timeout, meanwhile the managers, bookies are obviously setting up things, wink wink ).
This time no crowds, so lets have cacophonic engineered crowd effects along with rank poor commentators. Oh and the regional language commentary options, dont even go there.
The only bright spots are players from international squads but overall quality is third rate.

So what Ive learnt - nothing new. Avoid this Bollywood meets street cricket sheetshow, for life.

Looks like you only see the glimpses that you want to see and tune out all the other bits that do not conform to your ardent hopes and wishes that anything Indian is worse than Pakistani.

If you could view the IPL without nationalistic goggles, you would instead see some of the best players in the world duking it out with dream match-ups and dream team-ups amongst all time great players with some of the best bowling, batting and fielding in the world.

Yeah its so boring.

Jadeja clocking 37 runs in an over is just snooze-inducing. Bowling AB and Maxwell was just another demonstration of poor quality local Indians. Couldn't even take a single catch in the outfield.

Even the foreign players are rubbish. A third rate trundler got smacked by a local all-rounder nobody and conceded 15 runs in the over for another boring super over. Such poor quality.

I was especially surprised by "Poor fielding from second rung Indian newbies". What I see is fielders (both Indian and foreign) running as hard as they can and throwing themselves at the ball to stop boundaries. They know only performance counts, and every one gives their best in the hope of another contract next year.

One day I get to see Rashid bowl to Steve Smith, the next day Cummins to ABD, and after that Bumrah to Kohli. Only in the IPL will get to see the very best play each other day after day.

I didn't really follow IPL, but recently find myself watching a bit every morning.

That should point to a very high level of bowling, better than "international class" :))

IPL 2021, PBKS vs KKR: Punjab Kings spinner Ravi Bishnoi took a stunning catch after running close to 30 meters and putting a perfectly-timed dive to send Sunil Narine walking back in the powerplay of Kolkata Knight Riders's 124-run chase in Ahmedabad on Monday.
