Man enters a wildlife preserve and is killed by a crocodile. In revenge nearly 300 crocodiles are killed.

Indonesian villagers brutally slaughtered close to 300 crocodiles after a man was killed at a breeding farm, authorities have said.

Armed with knives, hammers and clubs, villagers reportedly killed 292 of the animals in revenge after the man was attacked after entering the farm.

Very true, if we are talking about 200 years ago. But of course British society has evolved since then, and now the focus is on protecting wildlife on distant continents, and no one can argue that killing 300 crocodiles in revenge is something that only an undeveloped society would dream of.

I would advise near ones not to enter a wildlife reserve full of dangerous reptiles if I valued them that much.

that was not a wildlife reserve, but your point is understood, that if someone brings upon his death due to carelessness, they don't deserve sympathy.

As for me, happy that these hideous creatures were inflicted the same pain they inflict on their prey.

It says it was a wildlife preserve in OP. Was the report inaccurate? I get your point that these crocodiles inflict pain on their prey, but they can only use teeth to kill and eat food to survive. If they had stun guns to sedate their prey first maybe they could follow our more humane methods.
