Virat Kohli "Rohit Sharma is the best ODI batsman in the world"

Again my friend argument stays the same, he does not want to be Kohli, he is content with his life. He would care a damn worrying about an armchair critic like you and me. Everybody is successful is their domain, whats this pointless comparison.

Your argument is pointless. Your conflating personal contentment with success.

The greatest cricketer of all time might not be content with his life but the worst cricketer of all time might be.

I will give you an extreme example - if Umar Akmal is content with his life and doesn’t give a damn about his critics, would you say that he didn’t underachieve as a cricketer?

Rohit has underachieved as a cricketer because he has 2,000 Test runs and 6 tons at the age of 33.

It doesn’t matter if he his happy with his life and doesn’t care about his critics and doesn’t want to be as successful as Kohli. The fact is that he is a huge underachiever at Test level.

If that doesn’t bother him then he is not a good role model for any cricketer who wants to succeed in Test cricket.

I am just letting you know that you claiming that he has underachieved would not even make him lose a minute's sleep. Not everyone is Kohli, and people would be putting undue pressure on themselves if they want to be like Kohli. Rohit is a laid back sort of a guy, and does not put undue pressure on himself. As a fan I enjoy his batting, and does not dwell on how he is not the greatest thing in Indian cricket.

And I never claimed otherwise. No player loses sleep over what people say about them on the Internet.

Read the title of the thread. The discussion was moved here for a reason.

Well partially agree, based on raw talent, even Kohli has admitted that Rohit was a hyped and was a better player then him. He was a bit of an underachiever. The problem is that his defense is not up to the mark, and in the start of his career, had a problem of throwing it away. So that does not make him the best Indian batsmen and make your argument flawed.

On the other hand, Kohli has more bases covered when it comes to his technical game. Specially in bouncy conditions, in ODI's its bit of a neck to neck comparison, but no comparison in Test matches.
