Good. Hopefully more Pakistanis can get signed by English teams.

Whilst his national country drops him. Wahab Riaz is a world class talented bowler!!! He is better than Rahat Ali, Mohammed Abbas, Ehsan Adil, Sohail Tanvir, Umar Amin, Aamer Yamin COMBINED!!!

you forgot to add Wasim, Waqar and Shoaib..:srt

Well well! Great news! Very happy for him. One of the best t20 bowler going around.English batsmen be ready for 150ks Yorkers.

If he's motivated he'll be the leading wicket taker

More likely, he'll get phanti after phanti

Wahab is a good bowler but very inconsistent. I think his playing days for Pakistan has ended though.

Derbyshire sign Wahab Riaz for Vitality Blast

Derbyshire has signed Pakistan fast bowler Wahab Riaz for this summer’s Vitality Blast.
The experienced left-arm quick will be available for the county’s opening 10 matches, subject to final approvals, before joining Barbados Tridents in the Caribbean Premier League.

Riaz has taken 197 wickets in 167 Twenty20 matches to date, with an average of 21 and an economy rate of 7.1. He has also played in 27 Twenty20 internationals, claiming 28 wickets.

In total, he has made 132 appearances for Pakistan, taking 213 wickets with best figures of 5-46.

The 32-year-old has featured in some of the biggest Twenty20 competitions in the world, including the recent Pakistan Super League and the Caribbean Premier League. He also has previous experience in county cricket having represented Kent, Surrey and Essex.

Riaz will begin his spell with Derbyshire against Lancashire Lightning on Friday 6 July at The 3aaa County Ground and finish with the home fixture against Birmingham Bears on Friday 3 August.

Cricket Advisor, Kim Barnett said: “Wahab is a quick and highly-skilled fast bowler who will bring a wealth of experience to our Vitality Blast campaign.

“He has played in some of the biggest competitions in the world and represented Pakistan at the highest level.

“We wanted to bring in a proven bowler who can complement the crop of talented bowlers we already have and we’re delighted to secure Wahab for the first 10 games this summer.”
Riaz added: “I’m really excited to be joining Derbyshire for the Vitality Blast. They had a terrific 2017 campaign and from what I’ve heard they want to progress further this year.
“I hope I can play my part in a successful side and use my experience to help the squad in any way I can.”

He can play as much county and leagues he want. We shouldnt have him back in the Pakistan team other than the test squad where he might be of some use.

Good luck to Wahab in shaa allah he does great and wins his place back into the team.

Wahab figures of: 2.3 29 1 from today's game :yk

Better but no wickets today

3 overs for 15 runs vs Worcestershire

Hope to meet this legend when am there for the midlands derby in August, a bargain for Derbyshire really :))

so far decent outings for him. Derbyshire doesn't look a good team on paper. Hopefully he picks up some wickets in upcoming matches.

Wahab 2-20 off 4 today v Lancashire. Way better economyR. Derbyshire also opted to play him at num 3 - managing 16 runs. All in all one of his better performances so far

Good performance today. He is not a new ball bowler. He should be used in middle and death overs.

Hopefully, Wahab can keep this up, I've always liked Wahab. The passion with he used to bowl with, bowling every delivery as if it was his last. If it wasn't for his horrid economy he could've been a real force to be reckoned with. He had that never give up attitude that I've always loved, I pray for him to become a better bowler.

Should be a must in the test matches at the UAE later this year. We need him to bowl long spells there in the heat. I don't think the likes of Hassan Ali can do that in the UAE right now in test matches.

Wahab now knows he has Shaheen, Shinwari, Ruman, Hassan, Amir, all fighting for the fast bowling slots. Hopefully this fires him up to perform otherwise he will be left behind

Yes. I’ve always wished he was a good bowler and had some brains. Would have been an ATG :(

Wahab Riaz came in at No.3???????? :yk2

WHAT??????

Viki batting well??????? :broad

Now I have heard everything

Credit where it's due - he's done well in the last 3 matches for Derbyshire.

he is doing well as expected. He has batted at 3 twice in the tournament.Good to see him doing well. Hopefully he comes back in t20is and tests.

During his 2011 days he was known to have some decent batting ability, also shown it in the 2015 world cup but his batting form has went downhill until in this tournament.

Derbyshire are delighted to be able to extend overseas fast bowler Wahab Riaz’s stay at the Club and he will now be available for 12 Vitality Blast group matches.

The Pakistan international had initially signed for 10 fixtures, but the Club has secured an extenstion that will see him remain at the Club for two additional matches.

The fast bowler’s last match will now be against Worcestershire Rapids on Thursday 9 August before leaving to join Barbados Tridents in the Caribbean Premier League.

Riaz has taken nine wickets in eight matches with the Falcons at an average of 23 and an economy rate of just below eight an over. He has also scored 71 runs with a career-best 42.

Twenty20 Captain, Gary Wilson said: “We want to keep continuity within the squad and with an important week ahead, we’re delighted that Wahab will be extending his spell with us.

“Wahab is enjoying his cricket and was keen to stay, and it’s great news that he will be here for two more games as we look to seal a quarter-final spot.

“We’re grateful to Barbados Tridents for allowing Wahab to remain at the Club for the additional matches.”

Riaz will be feature in two more home games during this stay at the Club, starting with the fixture against Birmingham Bears on Friday 3 August.

Had excellent bowling figures of 4-1-17-1 and for context, Nottinghamshire ended up on 166-5. Great bowling by him.

His batting has improved a lot. But then again these are just T20 leagues.

These performances could see him back in the Pakistan squad soon.

Wahab Riaz impressing for Derbyshire. His last 5 performances:
4-27-3
4-17-1 & 53 runs
3-19-1 & 42 runs
4-34-2
4-26-2

He’s doing better there than what I expected.I’m not a big fan of his but he has done well since the PSL.

That 3rd wicket was a beauty. Alwyas thought that he should target the stumps more

He has always had the ability to bowl breathtaking deliveries but just lacks consistency and game awareness.

At times he is like Mohammad Sami in that he just runs in and bowls, without too much thought or patience.

True. The problem is he is 33 and has played over 100 internationals. If he hasn't learned now, then...

Was out for 15 off 12 balls and had bowling figures of 4-0-39-0 as Derbyshire lost to Northants.
