Inna Lillahi wa Inna ilaihi raaji'un.

First Irfan, then Sarfraz's Mother's illness, and now Wahab Father's death...really has been an emotional month for the players.

Lahore- January 31, 2017: Chairman PCB Shaharyar M. Khan, Chairman Executive Committee Mr. Najam Sethi and Chief Operating Officer Subhan Ahmad have offered their heartfelt condolences to the Test cricketer Wahab Riaz on the sad demise of his father.

“The Entire PCB family expresses their deepest sympathies to Wahab Riaz on this sad occasion. May the soul of the departed rest in eternal peace and grant the family and the dear ones the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss", said the PCB spokesman.

Really sorry to hear about the loss of his father, may he Rest in Peace. Its been a sad few days for Pakistani cricket team members... Irfan's mother and now Wahab's father.. Sarfaraz's mother was also not feeling well..

Hopefully they are able to get through this time..

This is what our cricketers have to endure. They live away from their loved ones for most of the year. Must be so tough for Wahab to bear this loss.

May ALLAH help him to come to terms with this tragedy. Our prayers with him and his family.

ILWIER
I heard he was a good businessman and had contacts with PML and PCB

Bump!

Wahab Riaz's reaction at the end of the match clearly showed the huge loss his family suffered and what it meant to him to play the final in Lahore.

Wish both teams the best and emphasizes how important it is for cricket to return to Pakistan - the sentiments and emotional attachment to memories related to Pakistan can never be matched in the UAE.

You make an important point. This is why we should support and appreciate our players. They sacrifice a lot to represent our country. I assume that Wahab was not present at his father's passing. That too must be so painful to bear.

He must be present at the funeral as there was no ongoing series and Australia series was completed 5 days before his father passed away. Still it must be very painful as he plays every format and gets very less time to spend with his family, also our home series are played in U.A.E which further reduces there time with their families, must be pretty tough for our cricketers.
