Waqar Younis, Dav Whatmore and many other past coaches - What were they actually doing as coach?

This clearly shows that the past coaches in Pakistan cricket were not strict but were probably soft on these players, which is why a slight anger from Arthur made Umar Akmal go crying all the way to the media.

It makes me wonder, were the coaches scarred of players and only interested in the pay? Because if so, then Arthur has really done a good job by placing his foot down.

Yes. Waqar complained about umar Akmal and Shehzad multiple times publicly and in confidential reports

But the board was unprofessional and leaked those reports so these two clowns were never properly punished

Waqar identified this problem eons ago.

And we could have saved ourselves a lot of trouble and drama if the recommendations were carried out back then

Not using abusive language with players means that they weren't strict enough?

Kids like Umar grew up watching players like Waqar who himself was ill disciplined, played politics and had ego problems.

Wish someone like Arthur had taken similar decisions in the 90s (putting the team first). No one should be above the team even if he is a combination of Viv and Don.

Im not talking about umar akmal here, what im talking about is our coaches, who were not strict enough to implement their order and were taking home big pay cheques. Or some of them sit on tv and critisize.

Their soft attitude allowed players like umar akmal to develop such ego that today if something is said to them they go crying to media or board

Yes they can enforce them.

If you dont follow the coaches order, then kick the person out of the team. A coach should place his basic requirements from player on the table, and if that requirement is now followed, then not even afridi and misbahs request should be accepted.

Arthur gave umar akmals fitness as a requirement, umar didnt fulfill that, he was out of the team in a very embarrassing fashion. Mid Tour.

What waqar and others would do is that, we are selecting you this time but please follow what i told you later on.
And the player says yeh and yeh and just doesnt botger.


Recently PCB spent alot of money om that karkul camp that took place. Anyone who attended that camp should had followed a fit ess regime himself after that.

The purpose of such camp isnt to make someone fit overnight, the purpose is to put a person in the habit of doing fitness trainning.

These players should had developed that habit and followed it.

But hey, pcb itself doesnt care that they spent money on the kakul camp.

I really hated the statement that Sethi gave today, that had umar came to him ge would had done an inquiry on arthur.
