Waqar Younis suggests a 30-over Cricket World Cup for women, feels 50 overs are 'a few too many'

If anything this match lends credence to his suggestion. How was this match competitive?

Tbh what I am really interested in knowing is how much money does women's cricket generate? Also, is it being funded by the money generated from men's cricket?

So today Amelia Kerr, just 17 years old, scored 232* and took 5-17 in a 50 over match! Waqar Younis was a great bowler but this view is just wrong. Women deserve 50 over cricket.
They are getting stronger no doubt, more investment in women’s cricket has been made by top teams like Australia and England. 50 over cricket will eventually die anyway in a few years time even for men. So the two formats going forward will be tests and T20.
On a personal note i would be more interested to tune in and watch a womens T20 game than a ODI.
Now if you want to call me a sexist then too bad!

I would bet my house on the fact that it is a highly loss making business (specially ODI’s).

ANOTHER record by England, but Women's team today. Highest t20 run aggregate

Women cricketers keep on proving Waqar Younis wrong. Yes this was a T20 match but it still shows the quality is good enough for women to deserve 50 over matches.

How is this probing Waqar wrong? If anything it's proving him right, most teams cannot compete for 50 overs. Only australia England and new Zealand have good women's teams.

Because if teams are this good at cricket, they deserve to play 50 overs and not 30 overs which is a mockery of ODI's

Women cricketers' pay is going up, so incentives are going up for NZ, England, India, and Aus at least. That means in future better and better women cricketers will be coming.

Consider it that do you give minnow nation 30 overs cricket to begin with? Look at bangladesh or even SL, they were losing a lot initially to other experienced team. Now they are competitive and full fledged team.

If you wanna train them good and make them better, you expose them to toughest task. They will reach to that level.

Bro only 3 teams are capable of playing at a high level, maybe India too, other than that they are all low level. You only had to watch highlights of last years WC, so many dropped catches, poor dismissals.

Ok but even some men's teams are not that good. Some of the minnows get thrashed by the big boys whenever the chance comes but they are still 50 over matches.

Some is the keyword. In women's cricket all but 3-4 teams get thrashed whenever they play. In mens cricket there are at least 6-7 competitive teams, with teams like WI able to punch above their weight from time to time.
