Only the England team knows if they were playing for 2nd to get the 'easier side of the draw' or if they wanted a win to keep the momentum going. Have to say, it looks weird how we brought Welbeck on when we needed a goal and not Kane. But I think for squad morale it is right to give everyone a chance in a game like this where it doesn't mean much as regards to qualifying so my vote goes to yes, he was right :) It's coming home!

Yes,it was the right decision. You have to keep your best players fresh. It also helped give some game time to other players.

Should have rotated the full backs and central midfielders as they are the position which involve the most running. The rest of the team was building rythem together so why change it ? I would rather face Japan than Colombia.

well Belgium took the hard way and have gotten here to the semis, England now need to justify there result aginst Belgium by beating sweden and croatia, otherwise it would be something Southgate will always look back at.

Yes it was the right decision. Allowed him to rest his top players and see what his bench warmers could do. It paid off handsomely.
