"Was offered $1million, 2 Mercedes, 4-Kanal house, apt on Fulham Rd. to fix a match" : Shoaib Akhtar

<iframe src="https://streamable.com/s/mn62v/hrzemw" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; fullscreen" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Very convincing...

Liar, did he not inform ICC then ? he should be investigated by PCB now, he is just a cheap, showy person.

The hosts face is so epic. She has done so well to not burst out laughing.

This guy was a liability when playing for Pakistan and is a bigger liability himself outside of cricket.

Someone should do him a favour and section him.

If there was an award for bad acting, Shoaib would win it on that clip.

Anyone can tell he's making up this ** as he speaks. I think he's become a habitual liar. He just makes stuff up like that without realizing that he's lying through his teeth. It's a part of routine for him.

he exaggerates but he aint lying, easily half the team, i don't need to say who, everyone has an idea, pre asif butt and amir getting done were fixers and everyone knows it.

A lot of people bashing him over here are just upset that he is talking about it. Had it been someone else, no one would be bashing him.

Besides his past anecdotes have been corroborated by Saqlain, Razzaq, Yousaf, Azhar Mahmood, Afridi and Co.

Everyone knows he is not lying. They are just upset as to why is he so successful in retirement

also cos he talks with the freedom of someone who knows no one can sling any match fixing allegations back at him, when a lot of peoples favourites cant. :irfan

One thing that can be said about him is though he has NEVER been linked to or accused of match-fixing.

Some of the things don't line up.

He has the guts to beat up a bookie but couldn't muster up the courage to file a complaint?

If you read his book, he mentions that he reported Manny fixing offers to the team manager as per protocol but the team manager was too scared to do much about it.

He mentioned that fixing and book making is so rampant in Pakistani society, once the PCB maali approached him, offering to cut him in the slice of the pie. He threatened to get him fired if he dared to ever approach him again or if he found out that he had been approaching other players in this menace

That's the thing. His reasoning is that because he stayed away from the menace, his name never ever came up in the bookie market or the media or in an inquiry but the same cannot be said about so many players who played in the 90's, no smoke without fire

Perhaps he did report it to the ICC but they didn't follow up his complaints or there wasn't enough evidence.

Interesting.

If true, I can understand Akhtar's frustration even if he isn't the most eloquent person.

The team manager and/or ICC really let the sport down during the 90s and 2000s. Their inaction (for whatever reason) has allowed the virus to spread into the 2010s and beyond.

The more he talks, the more trouble he could be in with ACSU.

Rashid latif has tried working with then and said they are a farce and not really interested in removing corruption from the game

People on here can’t have it both ways; maverick who is also civil.

Akhtar is raw but he is passionate and has 10X the balls of any other so-called Pakistani cricketer.

People say that Pakistani players fix because they are poor but this guy was also not well-off.

It’s about character and not income.

Agreed.
And for all the "antics" after retirement, he was the last bowler we had who at least had the guts to walk up to any batsman and say a few words.

Miss the fire and aggression in our bowling. Way too timid now...

This thread epitomizes Pakistani society. Reaked with insecurity and unable to accept and tolerate the success of others

Judging by the reactions above, I must advise him to keep at it. When you have a lot of haters, you are definitely doing something right. Also Mamoon should be the last person to criticize him given that his behaviour is the same

The irony.

My only intention of making second comment on this thread is to say something to all the people who are insulting Shabby here

And my comment is this -

'SHAME ON YOU'

You call the most honest guy in Pakistan cricket a liar. Maybe you only deserve a bunch of honest match fixers who keep embarrassing your nation on world stage.

And you say Shabby was a liability? The guy won test matches for Pakistan single handedly in scorching heat and while playing on dead wickets. All the top teams would give anything to have this so called 'liability' to play for them and India would literally roll out the red carpet and make him a King as per constitution just to have the sheer joy of worlds fastest bowler playing for them with all his passion. It's a fact, Indians respect Shabby way more than Pakistanis ever did.
Savak Monsee i am glad few of you guys are supporting the lone warrior. Keep it up. Bhaijaan's with you.

Why are people surprised and shocked and knowing Shoaib beat up a bookie. The guy beat up Asif and Afridi who are both international athletes.

Asif and Afridi went on record to say Shoaib slapped Asif and then hit Afridi too.

He made himself a warrior to bowl fast and beat people up when they do injustice to him or annoy him.

More quotes :

"Let me give some more breaking news. One million dollars, 2 S-Class Mercedes, a 4-Kanal house and an apartment on Fulham Road in England, to fix a match. I said the offer is really good... then I locked the door and beat him up (the person who made the offer)"

"Later, he was then caught by the PCB and they asked him who is involved in fixing, he said Shoiab is, they asked whats the evidence, he said look at my face, Akhtar's beaten me up"

"After that he didnt bother me but he had others involved in this [fixing]"

"The biggest enemies of these young players are in the dressing rooms"

"Wish we had another Imran Khan, we would have turned the world upside down"

"PCB is a 'bakwas' institution - and I have never understood why they could not appoint a visionary as a chairman"

"If I had become a chairman of PCB, I would have made the media a stakeholder in the organization"

"I would have done open trials on a website and then call the deserving players over on our account to train them"

"I would have fired 500 people immediately from PCB; there is hardly work for 50 and we are keeping 700"

"PCB takes such low-class decisions, such lame decisions - I would have had selectors from each province and ask them for their advice"

"We have such a big cricket academy but which Shoaib Akhtar has it produced?"

"I have seen worst conditions in our neighbour's country - they may say things are good but I have seen people sleeping on the streets of Mumbai"

As I read these, I imagined his voice, and him saying these things. Encourage everyone to do the same. Really enhances the experience :))

Jazba
Daleri
Jaanbaazi
Badmashi

Four elements which made Shoaib Akhtar a legend but very few people talk about his patriotism. He is the most patriotic Pakistan ever since Gen Parvez Musharaf.

He always went against odds and was wrongly victimized.

Only real men with above four elements in their personality and patriotism can understand him.

This.

He loves his country.

This guy is a gift that keeps on giving.

Never saw a more straightforward cricketer than him.

He is the most patriotic and corruption free cricketer pak ever had. His fitness issues in his playing days overshadow people's judgement.

Rashid latif has tried working with then and said they are a farce and not really interested in removing corruption from the game

In return the ICC said that Latif and others had no proper evidence.

Add to that, here is my take on all this gand/sauces he is throwing out there with added spice:

1- If I was him and playing in a team full of fixers (as he claimed, everyone except him was such), why he did not try and get that team (from his motherland that he so dearly loves) cleaned up; I mean it is not as if he did not have the example of Latif and Basit before him? Also, in a post-Cronje world, it would have been easier to get support to have his claims investigated (beyond just reporting to his manager).

2- Why he chose to continue playing with the same fixers, when he knew they were fixing every game, how did he figure he would make a difference to the outcome of the match when everyone (but him) was trying to fix/lose the game?

3- I refuse to believe every single person in the team was a fixer, I just cannot take that on the face value; that means Younis and Misbah too, what about Amir Sohail?

Again for the teeny bopper fans, please stop using the hate defence, or that he is so popular etc. being popular on YT is so easy these days, even 5-6 year olds in U.S. (and other countries) have many a fold of fans then him.

They way he listed those things:
1 Million$
2 Mercedes
1 4 Kanal House etc.

You would think that they (the fixers) would be getting world's biggest diamonds or something like that in return for such lavish items. Just insane, and also if he was not that interested, how come he remembers all that in such details?

Have a fever to start with. Watched a random bit of the interview and almost threw up when he calls himself a feminist and that he sympathizes with women.

Akhtar is the most detestable type of human - huge ego, delusional, lots of big talk and yet will grovel at the scent of a few PKR/INR, while hiding behind shameless hypocritical bravado.

Couldn't have said it any better, his fans just can't seem to see through the 'Mask' he is wearing!

Well I've asked Salman why it's not been aired yet.

Let's see.
Salman must have realised that interview would have gotten him in trouble then requested Shoaib not to air it

Why do the interview then? What was the purpose of the interview, to relive everything again?

This guy is a piece of .... he lands in Toronto, couple guys go out to pick him up as friends he start to complain where’s my limo.
Drug addiction corrupted Asif, injury prone he never played for his country.
Accusation of rape against him in Australia in his early playing days. PCB had to deport from mid tour.
Why won’t you explain all that Mr perfect
“I punched the wall and I broke it lmao
Pakistani walls are concrete not drywall

Should have just accepted the bribes.

Would have been better off.

To my friends in India, please, stop subscribing or unsubscribe from his channel so he can return back to earth.

That's unlikely to ever happen.

We Indians are fans of classless, insincere, all-talk-no-walk, hypocrites. Especially when they paint an unreal image of our reality and future.

Just look at our voting patterns :rabada2

This particular one is the most blatant.

I played this shot many times in the net, and the sideways weight transfer for a cross-batted show doesn't allow me to go backwards. Unless I intentionally push off with my back leg.

The giveaway of this act are his glove dislodging bails, and overselling his "move" by ribcage-rubbing when nothing touched it. woolmer's look of utter disdain another sight to behold.

To be fair, it does actually look like an "accident". The backfoot was probably the reason that tipped him over - don't forget, this guy was a lazy cricketer, athletism or additional fitness was not his go to thing so I can understand the tipping over - happend to me couple times when the back foot was not balanced and tiped me over. Also the rib cage rubbing is probably from the ball hitting the ribs.

"Was offered $1million, 2 Mercedes, 4-Kanal house, apt on Fulham Rd. to fix a match" : Shoaib Akhtar

Shoaib Akhtar in an interview with Samina Peerzada:

"The whole world has done it [match fixing]"

"Greed, money, I have seen everything. I have worn clothes worth millions, I swear to God it never brought me peace"

"No one has seen more fame than me in this country. You look to the recent YouTube age and they still love me even though it's been 8 years, I am in their memories"

"Money can never give you inner peace but they look for more money and put their hands into all sorts of things"

"I used to explain a lot to Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif, what a waste of talent"

"When I heard about Amir and Asif first, I punched the wall so hard that I broke the wall"

"I wanted to break their faces and tell them that don't you understand that Pakistan's smartest and most perfect fast bowlers are going to be wasted now"

"There were match-fixers around me; I was playing against 21 people - 11 of theirs and 10 of ours"

"No idea who is a match-fixer and who is doing what"

"There was so much match fixing - Mohammad Asif told me which matches were fixed and how"

"So I said, I was in same match, what was I doing? he said you were doing your best and we were doing what we had to"

"This is breaking news"
He claimed he was playing against 21 players. So he is claiming all 10 members of his own team, apart from himself were fixers. Every single one of them.

Am sure many of his team mates would not be happy with his claim.

don't forget, this guy was a lazy cricketer
inzi is also renowned in match/spot fixing world certified by legal conviction in justice qayuum's report.

Try this at home. Pick up a bat, front footed, fool-blooded swing to leg side, momentum carries you front and left, tipping down forward. Not pulling backwards and upright.

His first instinct is to go for LBW. But atrocious line and length throws off plan. He improvised. Never happened before, didn't happen since then. To any other batsman.

At least Akhtar was offered a bung or 2 to throw a match.. the bookie will feel insulted to approach today’s pak cricketers. They do a pretty good job losing games anyway.

That's why spot fixing was created for inferior-ranked countries and its poverty-stricken players.

With no retirement options to monetize from.

No one takes him seriously. He is a self opinionated person. Talk a lot of rubbish these days.
