I can't think of any other defeat like that for India?

Quite clearly.

Nagpur 2004 comes close. But that was an ATG team.

2012 England played against an over the hill team.

This was a well oiled machine that was thrashed in a heavy spin track.

Hard to pick between this and Bangalore 2017

South Africa's victories in India have been pretty dominant, particularly the ones instigated by Steyn.

i think so this was an Indian team that had been destroying all comers at home. Against a team that hadnt won a Test in Asia in nearly 6 years. And had been whitewashed by a mediocre Sri Lankan team 6 months earlier. India were overwhelming favourites on a turning pitch yet were utterly humiliated.

I think this is one of the worst ever test defeat at home for any test side post 2000 bar BD and Zim, let alone a side who has the best record at home and best run at home, which make it even more incredible.

Every good thing has a bad ending and its going to end that way and will not last for ever

When most Indian fans (especially the ones overseas) will wake up to check the score, they will be like this:

The phrase: 'Choron ko par gayaay morr' comes to mind...and yes, considering the team they faced (very inexperienced with most of them not having any/much of an experience of playing in India), it def looks like one of their worst defeats ever.

This in the wake of 'Best Captain and Bradman Reincarnate' Mr. Kohli in charge should hurt them even more:harby

lol This loss was brutal but it doesnt hurt as bad as India just got owned in every department so no excuses such as umpires, dropped catches etc... I am still picking India to win the series however if they lose the next one then I will change to Aus to win it............

I can't remember seeing a team get owned this badly.

Felt like nothing at all went India's way and they wasted all their reviews within the space of 2 overs.

Yes. Batting, bowling, fielding, drs, umpires, luck like ash playing on to his boot.

Nothing went indias way.

What a humiliation of world number one team and Bradman 2.0 of last month :D EPIC by Aussies. I want to hear something from VAJJI :D

Perhaps India's worst defeat in tests in the history of cricket, this game is a great leveler, it is so full of uncertainties and it has been proven again, this wicket was decent enough for Indians to score 450 odd in one inning and they matched the stats of Durban 1996-97 test playing at conditions where they outbat everybody..... wow

India looked at a loss in all departments. It all seemed to go downhill ever since Australia's last wicket stand in their 1st innings.

Difference here is everyone EXPECTED such a result, that was a very poor Pakistan team, Here on any other day India batters will pile up 450-500 runs but they could merely cross 100 in both inning :P

True, but Aman specifically indicated he hadnt seen a ownage like this and I was merely showing him there were worst regardless of the expected result.. But to be bowled out in the 50s in both innings ? This is Pakistan we are talking about not Bangladesh...

When was the last time Indians lost a test at home within 3 days?

It was comical (tragically) to see Jadeja beat all aussie batsmen atleast once every over and yet end up losing like this .... strangest test match ever

SA have annihilated India on numerous occasions too. Bangalore and Mumbai in 2000 and Ahmadabad in 2008.

But this is probably the most comprehensive of them all. India lost this Test inside a day
I've never seen that in the modern era
