The hosting of the event in Pakistan was historical in itself considering Ronaldinho, Ryan Giggs, Roberto Carlos, Nicolas Anelka, Robert Pires, and David James are bigger names than most international cricket stars (if not all).

This event may go a long way in re-branding Pakistan's image and softening the stance of foreign cricket boards in sending their teams to Pakistan.

But, the topic of discussion here is whether the event was successfully hosted.

-There have been complaints about there being far too few tickets for the game, only around a thousand tickets for the game, which made the crowd look a lot smaller even though there was a great demand for tickets.

-The games were supposed to be 7 a side and free flowing but became 10 a side and too congested.

-The whole event was organised below standard, there was a two hour delay in the starting of the game.

-The roads outside the stadium, especially in Karachi, were completely blocked with people parking on the main roads.

-There was a wall of Rangers circling the outside of the stadium, which was necessary, but even inside the stadium there was a line of Rangers around the pitch.

What could be done to make such events better? Even with all these issues do you think the event was successfully hosted?

I was there at the match. My comments to your points:

More could have been sold and maybe were available as well but the only stands empty were the cheapest ones where you have to sit on concrete stairs

-The games were supposed to be 7 a side and free flowing but became 10 a side and too congested. - Not in Karachi one atleast. Maybe Lahore I dont know. However the pitch dimensions were small due to being a hockey pitch so the game was definitely congested

-The whole event was organised below standard, there was a two hour delay in the starting of the game. True but its a Pakistani specialty. Annoying nonetheless

-The roads outside the stadium, especially in Karachi, were completely blocked with people parking on the main roads. Not sure. I went early

-There was a wall of Rangers circling the outside of the stadium, which was necessary, but even inside the stadium there was a line of Rangers around the pitch. I felt this was over the top as well .Made it seem we were in like a warzone

The stadium was quite full but the stadium itself did not have that much seating capacity. There was a much greater demand for tickets.

Even in the Karachi game the last few quarters had 10 players a side.

Pakistan specialises in delays but for an event with so many world class stars we would expect better organisation.

Even with these shortcomings I feel it's a success getting these players here. If they can come why can't cricket teams for short tours.
