Full quotes :

Darren Sammy has been very impressive and he has come off 2 T20 World Cup wins as captain which is a phenomenal record when you consider it. The way he handled the players was outstanding. You have to get to know your players and players need to know how they exactly fit in and what their roles are. Then it's easier for a captain to pull those strings.

The 4-1 loss in Austalia hurt. I've been really impressed by what I have seen in this PSL and we have unearthed some really good younger players who can carry Pakistan cricket forward. Most of our existing players are very good but we need to slightly change our brand and our style, but we have the personnel there.

We are going into a camp now for the West Indies series and this series is vital for qualification for the 2019 World Cup. We need to be prepared and all these younger players coming in will lift the standard and it certainly will increase the competition for places and that is a good thing and it will give us as the coaching staff some headaches which are good headaches to have because then the standard is lifted. People competing for places has to be a good thing for Pakistan cricket.

Great to see young talent. That it was you need to rebuild a fallen side.

Not really. Shadab, Talat, Usama etc. were already well known. The young players with the most potential are on Lahore's squad and they haven't been "unearthed" yet. They will be the future of Pakistan once they start playing to their potential.

Chief Destroyer We need batters more than bowlers.

it was interesting to hear him, although 40% of his comments were the word 'outstanding'. clearly he has to be diplomatic, and he has to be supportive, so its more about reading between the lines. either which way, it seems there are a few spinners that look interesting, but nothing on the batting front at all. unfortunately in a drought, even the filthy old still water seems appetising, but its good to hear that he is looking to redesign the playing strategy.

lets hope he has the ability and permission to succeed.

looking through the stats, and looking back at the tournament, how would you guys build the best t20 team from the available players?

1. kakmal
2. please anyone other than Shehzad, but lets accept its an inevitability
3. babar
4. Malik
5. ukmal
6. sarfraz
7. imad/shadab
8. second spinning allrounder imad/shadab/if professor everyone drops a spot
9. sohail
10. Hasan
11. rumaan

doesn't look a competitive side to me, but don't think amir, wahab or any of the other bats, now we've lost both openers in sharjeel and latif, make it on merit.

Some good talent has been unearthed. Hope to see them in Pakistan colours soon. Psl isn't going to create players, but it will help lesser known talented players get a chance to shine.

What I see is a battle between Inzamam and Arthur.

Inzi wanting to stick with the TTFs and bringing back the same players again. Arthur on the other hand wanting to try out some of the stars of the PSl.

Is that the reason he wants Shafiq in ODI team and persuading both Misbah and Younis to continue in test?

I decoded a Mickey Arthur interview on another thread a couple of weeks ago.

It's blatantly obvious that he:

1. Wants Misbah out of the team immediately. But is too respectful to directly say so in public.
2. Wants to be rid of the unfit, medium pacers Imran Khan and Sohail Khan.
3. Is extremely dubious about Younis Khan - who has only performed in 3 of the 9 away Tests - but wants him to go in a separate series from Misbah so that there aren't two new batsmen at 4 and 5 at the same time.
4. Wants a fast-bowling all-rounder and a spin-bowling all-rounder in every squad.

To bad this talent doesn't ever perform at international level. You don't find good test players through this dumb and fake T20 Cricket.

Forgive my ignorance as I did not follow the psl closely, but I cannot think of one new decent batsman that is deserving of a spot in the team basis this tournament

Shadab Khan has to be in T20 and ODI squads..... head and shoulders above anyone seen in this PSL2...

Sohail Khan has to be in OD .

He can bowl a decent new spell with new ball. Can hit lusty blows down the order.

I hope for Pakistan's sake Misbah doesn't play the next PSL. What is the point of a 43 year old playing a format which he hasn't played internationally for 5-6 years. Misbah also brings with him a baggage of oldie cricketers like Riffat, Imran Khalid, Asif Ali etc.

We need more youngsters to get a chance.

NO use of unearthing new talent when you can't get rid of old and failed one, that too as captain.

I hope Arthur wins this battle for the sake of Pakistan cricket. Inzi does not have the foresight
