I know he's a divisive figure on these forums and people have mixed feelings about him. But say what you want about the man, nobody can doubt that he's an incredibly hard worker, is obsessed with cricket, has earned the respect and admiration of those he's worked with, and puts his head down and gets to work without seeking spotlight and media attention. The major problem in Pakistan circket right now is not selection, it's not coaching, it's talent. And that can only be rectified through domestic cricket. Nobody understands domestic cricket in Pakistan better than Misbah. He's passionate about the need for change, and I feel strongly that he could make a difference. He's a smart man, and exactly the type of person who should be overseeing the domestic structure. I'm confident with his leadership, we would start to see new talent emerge in the next 3-5 years that would be ready for international cricket and address our deficiencies. He's not going to make emotional decisions, he's very logical individual who will study the deficiencies and come up with some plans to fix the problems if he's given the resources and backing by PCB.

Thoughts?

Exactly what I was thinking. A level headed expericened player like Misbah can do wonders for a team like Pakistan if he is part of administration.

Should be inducted back into the system ASAP, otherwise Pakistan Cricket will disintegrate to levels beyond repair.

I think we need to recall him in the ODI team..our team failed to play 50 overs..

Completely agree - he knows the problems in domestic cricket and the substandard nature of the balls, pitches, umpiring and competition.

Instead PCB will carry on recycling puppets like Iqbal Qasim, Haroon Rashid, Intikhab Alam and Wasim Bari.

Why not bring in a fresh face in administration for once instead of retaining the folks who got us into this dire state in the first place ?!

I don't think recalling back him into the team is the answer. That's like trying to treat cancer with orange juice. It's not addressing the root cause of the problem.

The main issue is lack of modern players coming through domestic cricket. Yes we are frustrated that guys like Hafeez and Shehzad and Azhar are in the ODI team but we don't have hidden gems that are being kept out by these guys. Opener problem is harder to fix - we haven't had a decent and solid pair since Anwar and Sohail, but it boggles the mind why we don't have a solid group in the middle order that can rotate strike and hit boundaries when needing to accelerate. We need academies to identify talent, grooming players in domestic, getting faster bouncy wickets, etc. But first step is putting someone in charge who understands issues facing the domestic structure, and giving him the resources and support to fix the problem.

After starting PSL, appointing Misbah to head domestic cricket would be the next smartest thing PCB could do. There is no easy fix to our problem, but this could help fix the issues in a few years.

What we are facing now in the team , the defensive mindset is Misbah's legacy, will take us some years to recover and you want to bring him back, no, FGS
