"We have to give credit to the English batsmen for the way they handled our bowling"

"It's not as if the ball wasn't doing anything but Jos Buttler and Dom Bess played a mature innings"

"Tomorrow morning the new ball is due so we will try our best to get them out so we have the small target to chase"

"There is no worry in the team and yes, in the past we have had problems chasing small targets but the team is confident that we will chase whatever target we are given"

"In the Ireland Test, we saw how the young guys showed that even after losing early wickets how we can chase a target"

"The way Amir and Abbas are bowling, it will not be easy for them to handle the new ball"

"We always advise Sarfaraz where necessary and he also asks if he needs our advice"

"It's a bit of both, the conditions have been good for batting as there was a lot of sunshine, and we should give credit to the English batsmen as they first saw off the danger then attacked also"

"No discussion was made about Azhar or me bowling as this pitch is suited for fast-bowlers"

"There isn't much in there for spinners and we have 4 fast-bowlers so we wanted to bring them back again and again"

"Babar has a fracture as the X-Ray showed and the team management will decide [if he has to bat], I hope that such a situation does not arise"

"Everyone [Pakistan players] had a fair idea as to how the Dukes ball swings due to use in domestic cricket and they also know how to ball after its 20 overs old"

"I had been using smartwatch for the past few months"

"Management told me not to use so I stopped using it"

"We will try to get England out so that there is a lead of 150 at the maximum"

Understandable.

Pak has a poor history of chasing. Also Anderson, Broad will feel more confident with 150+ on the board.

Should have kept that to himself, shouldn't let the English know they'll be scared to chase anything higher.

New ball is due early tomorrow. Lets see how quickly can Pakistan get the remaining 4 out.

Eng is not going to set 150+ target unless Pakistan bowls poorly. Pakistan should easily win this test after taking such a huge lead. Eng lost this test on first day itself.

In all honesty if we let the lead get to 150+ despite the new ball in early morning conditions we'll only have ourselves to blame for the defeat.

If England put on another hundred I will be very surprised.

with the new ball due in 2 overs, I would think they want to limit England to WELL below 150

Bit of a strange press comment, for England to get another 100 runs would be great for them and awful for Pakistan because it would make the game competitive.

It’s difficult but if Pakistan don’t get Buttler with new ball pretty much possible. Broad has always been good with bat against us, and wood can bat. I think England will set 120 at least

Pakistan are not the best chasers. Need to take the last 4 wickets ASAP.

New ball in a couple overs, resuming your innings on a new day is almost like starting a new one. I back our bowlers to get buttler and then clean up the tail.

Pitch is real flat now. 150 not being chased will be down to other reasons but PAK will end all eng hopes asap with the new ball.

Won't be easy for England to get to 150. Having to start your innings again against a fresh attack won't be easy.

It will be a repeat of the Ireland Test.

Early wickets, losing openers and than having middle order chase down 80-100.

It’s an open secret. Not as if England don’t know either tbh

Yeah but you don't really go around flaunting your weaknesses...

Imagine Cook comes to the presser tomorrow and says "I hope the ball won't come to me at slip because I reckon I'll drop it" :danish

The best way this test match can end is if Pakistan needs 6 runs, they are 9 down and just before Abbas and Amir are heading back to the dugout, Babar emerges with the cast on his hand and walks out with the Pakistani flag tied to his back in the form of a cape. Green and white face-paint smeared on his face, he walks to the crease where Bairstow and stokes are utterly gobsmacked. Stokes makes a reference to how he injured Babar in the first innings, to which Babar responds by turning back and pointing to the crest on the Pakistan flag. Commentators and fans alike are shocked that babar has decided to show up to the crease despite having a fractured arm. Stokes runs in, knowing that this is the last wicket before they pull off an amazing test victory. Stokes bowls a short ball at 90 mph just like he did in the first innings to Babar which made him injured to begin with. This time, however, Babar steps back, gets ready to hook with all the power in his bruised body, and he strikes the ball so cleanly that the sound he makes out of sheer pain upon swinging his broken arm is drowned by the deafning thunderclap that the willow makes when it strikes the leather. The ball sails for a six, Babar's facial expression indicates that he had no doubt he would be able to drag his team across the finish line, and Chacha cricket is seen singing the Lagaan theme song in the crowd. Babar runs around Lord's, still adorning the Pakistan flag as a cape.

Plan for Pakistan should be to attack both Buttler and Bess. Buttler is an average player and doesn't have the temperament nor the skill to survive long spells in test cricket, he is prone to loosing concentration on most occasions. Pakistan have been guilty to accord too much of respect to him.

Lol, I really hope this doesn’t happen. But ever since he got injured such a thing has been ringing my mind too. 😂

He’s deadly dangerous given the situation if they don’t get him with new ball.

Who says that in a press conference, handing it on a plate to opposition?

The 150 thing.

Massive psychological advantage handed over to Eng. They know as soon as they get close to 150, Pak side would be a nervous wreck getting ready to lose the match.

Eng will easily give 130 plus lead. Likely above 150.

Have you guys notice it is always asad and azhar in the press conference saying that we are not nervous and they end up getting out cheaply. Remembering Azhar saying it against Ireland and we all know what happened

Remember how quickly our tail went down in the first innings. The whole match could be done and dusted by lunchtime.

pak just needs one wicket . rest 3 will fall quick . we can get them out below 100

Broad is a shadow of his former self as a batter. He might slog 20.

I think it more likely that Pakistan will chase 80 to win with two wickets down.

Credit where due to Buttler and Bess but England won't last too long.

Pakistan to chase under 120 most likely.
