Sharp return catch from Fabian Allen. Sri Lanka one down.

Nissanka worked out already, very legside dominant batsman. WI made him play through the offside, and the runs dried up.

SL three down.

Very good bowling. SL going nowhere in this innings so far.

Great hit from Bandara, this partnership gives SL bowlers something to work with.

Winidies game plan worked start with the spinners and take pace off the ball...sri lanka recovered well however if openers took their time and not worry to much about the score they could have gotten better score...that being said windies bowlers were on point today, and exposed the opening pair of batsman well

I do hope sri lanka can win but seems very unlikley ...windies got a lot of fire power in their batting

Firepower and depth, it just needs two batsmen to get going , this can be chased.

Lanka need to get wickets here, they need to bowl their best bowlers and treat this game like a 15 over game

Yeah exactly total is way too small if sri lanka got early wicket their could have been a chance its early but i will say its done and dusted congratz to windies in advance

Also why play Chandimal in T20's where he doesn't excel with a SR of barely over 100.

They do not seem to have many T20 players around.

SL lost just 4 wickets and scored 131 - Had they scored 170 for 9 would have been better and most probably match winning score with their spinners.

West Indies need 65 runs in 62 balls. RRR: 6.29

the required rate is very much under control, just need to get singles here practically.

Gayle needs some runs and this should be the perfect opportunity for him to take them home with run a ball needed.

Gayle 13 from 18 balls

He is very cautious here, he does not have scoreboard pressure

OUT

Lanka making a match out of this small total here , WI losing wickets at regular intervals.

West Indies need 34 runs in 24 balls. RRR: 8.50

A couple of wickets here will spice up the game further here

SIX

This is where WI is a dangerous team , everyone is capable of hitting six at any point

Phew. Holder was denying singles to keep Fabian Allen away from strike and Fabian is the one who hit there sixes to finish off the match.

These WI players can bring out big hits at any moment out of nowhere.

What a game of cricket.
Credit to sri lanka bowlers they bowled well and hasaranga is a champion but unfournatley the total was too low to defend in the end . Windies in terms of batting just have such a strong depth. Credit to windies as well for holding their nerves and finishing the game

The West Indies have held their nerve to win the third and final T20I against Sri Lanka in Antigua.

Sent out to field after losing the toss, the West Indies restricted Sri Lanka to 131/4 thanks largely to the performances of Fabian Allen and Jason Holder.

Allen went on to play a crucial role in the chase in a Player of the Match performance.

In trouble at 112/7, the West Indies needed 20 runs to win in the last two overs. Allen only needed one, finishing it in the 19th by smashing Akila Dananjaya (0/53) for three sixes, sealing the series 2-1.

He finished not out on 21 off six to go alongside his figures of 1/13 with the ball.

The West Indies started the chase confidently, with Evin Lewis and Lendl Simmons putting on 37 runs for the first wicket.

Their fast start spurred Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews to turn to his trump card with the ball, Wanindu Hasaranga (2/13), in the fifth over and the move paid immediate dividends.

The leg-spinner trapped Lewis (21) in front in his first over and had Simmons (26) stumped in his second.

Seamer Dushmantha Chameera (2/23) went on to dismiss Kieron Pollard for a duck in the eighth over and Nicholas Pooran for 23 in the 15th, with Lakshan Sandakan removing Chris Gayle (13) in between.

It looked like things were going off the rails for the hosts in the 17th when Sandakan (3/29) removed Rovman Powell (7) and Dwayne Bravo (0) off consecutive deliveries, leaving the West Indies at 105/7.

Holder (14*) and Allen ensured there would be no more hiccups from there however, putting on an unbeaten 29-run stand to wrap up the match.

Earlier, Allen took a spectacular catch off his own bowling to dismiss Sri Lankan opener Danushka Gunathilaka (9) in the third over of the innings. Jumping to his right, the all-rounder pulled in a tough chance with one hand.

Things got worse for Sri Lanka before the end of the Powerplay as Niroshan Dickwella (4) fell to Kevin Sinclair (1/19) and Pathum Nissanka (5) to Holder. When Mathews (11) was dismissed by Obed McCoy, Sri Lanka were in serious trouble at 46/4.

It took an 85-run stand between Dinesh Chandimal (54*) and Ashen Bandara (44*) to rebuild the innings from there.

While the pair managed to up the ante in the final few overs, they were unable to take Sri Lanka much further than 130, leaving the bowlers with plenty of work to do.

ST JOHN’S, Antigua – Fabian Allen sealed victory for West Indies in spectacular fashion – with three magnificent sixes in the penultimate over of the third and final CG Insurance T20 International on Sunday night. The all-rounder made 21 not out off six balls and Jason Holder provided calm support at the other end to finish unbeaten on 14.

West Indies made 134-7 off 19 overs in reply to Sri Lanka’s 131-4 to win by three wickets, with six balls to spare at the Coolidge Cricket Ground. Allen was named the CG Insurance Man-of-the-Match and West Indies won the series 2-1.

The match was in the balance at the start of the 19th over with the home side still requiring 20 runs from the last 12 balls with three wickets in hand. Allen seized the moment and pulled the first ball from leg-spinner Akila Dananjaya over square leg and out of the ground. The third ball was a full toss and Allen swung it over mid-wicket and out of the ground again. The last ball was clean strike over wide long-on for the winning six.

“It feels really great to hit the winning runs for my team and get us over the line. It wasn’t just to win the match but to win the series so it’s quite a wonderful thing for me,” Allen said. “… I just backed myself in the end. I know I can win games with the bat and I can also win games with the ball. It was a good performance overall.”

Earlier, Lendl Simmons top-scored with 26, Nicholas Pooran made 23 while Evin Lewis hit 21 for West Indies. Left-arm spinner Lakshan Sandakan took with 3-29 while leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga had another good spell of 2-13 from his four overs and was later named the CG Insurance Man-of-the-Series.

When Sri Lanka batted, Allen had impressive figures of 4-0-13-1 with his left-am spin and set the tone for the innings with the new ball when he had opener Danushka Gunathilaka magnificently caught-and-bowled one-handed.

Dinesh Chandimal top-scored with 54 not out off 46 balls. Ashen Bandara struck an unbeaten 44 off 35 balls and together with Chandimal, put on a crucial unbroken stand of 85 for the fifth wicket to rescue the innings from 46-4 in the 10th over.

Upcoming match: 1st CG Insurance One-Day International on Wednesday at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. First ball is 9:30am (8:30am Jamaica Time)

West Indies depth in T20s is just too much. 1 big worry is how hopeless they looked against spin. Teams will definitely target them with spin at the World T20.

Don't even think this was the best Sri Lanka 11 for T20s. But ther were positives for them in this series.

What catch by Allen!

I thought Chris Gayle and Dwayne Bravo retired from internationals. How come they are still playing?

Don't normally care for it, but that was an entertaining T20I series. WI bowled very well, and batting deep meant they were able to overcome a few moments of bother courtesy of the SL spinners on slow pitches.

SL have a decent spin trio, though Akila was very expensive in the 1st and 3rd matches. However the seam department looked weak and their big hitters like Gunathilaka and Dickwella lack consistency and game awareness.

ODIs and Tests should be interesting.
