Any thoughts about the HBO's new show? although i know that the first episode has just been aired.

I don't like sci-fi that much but the cast looks solid and the creator Jonathan Nolan has an impressive history both in films and with "Person Of Interest".

Was okay. It's very moody and unnecessarily high concept IMO. Also I'm not quite sure how they can keep this premise going for a season or more.

Looking forward to this.

Heard that it's supposed to be good.

First episode was really good but as someone above said I don't know how they can make a whole tv show out of it

The movie is a classic.

Is this worth watching?

The movie was great, and this looks pretty good as well, but from the reviews I'm reading seems this series is going to involve graphic sex scenes compared to the original, which had the same concept, just didn't shove it in your face blatantly. Shame, because that means it's not good for watching with the family.

First two episodes are amazing. Finally a show worth watching after so long.

Watched both eps and there is not a hint of humor in the show. All the great shows always had some humor in them. This is just gloomy as hell.

Interesting and different.

Enjoyable first 2 episodes.

Interesting plot, very interesting pilot. But I'll watch episodes 2 to whatever they finish at, when I've got time.

They've managed to get Anthony Hopkins and a few other big actors for this, so clearly those big actors see something in the script or the HBO had a huge budget to pull them in.

i assume the first season will completely revolve around evan rachel wood becoming 'intelligent' and will progress no further than that.

Seems rather slow-paced with the storyline progressing quite sedately.

HBO's Westworld

Another gem from HBO, loving this series so far. Anyone watching this?

The highlight of the show is Anthony Hopkins.

It's just excellent. Completely absorbing, thoughtful science fiction considering slavery, behaviorism when societal pressures are removed, and the nature of perception. Top acting, especilly from Sir Anthony and Thandie Newton.

The reveal about the head programmer
being one of the Hosts
was a big shock.

Ive only seen the first 3 episodes so far but i think the spoiler you gave was a bit obvious, to me anyway.

Well, I didn't see it coming. He's the most sympathetic character to me, so that twist was upsetting. There's another one about him coming -
he's a copy of the much referred-to Arnold.

By episode 9, Maeve
is turning into a supervillain.

I expect the finale to be very, very bloody.

Quite a slow burner but it's quality. Like the best shows a good combination of suspense and character depiction. I agree Bernard has been great - won't say much more than that as it seems some people are still not up to date.

for me the repeation in the first epsiode didnt appeal to me. the acting is good though. Has some decent actors. It didnt excite me as I had just finished watching the ongoing series designated survivor

Up to date with this now and if I'm being honest I don't totally follow what's going on, but it's still interesting.

Finally, decided to follow it today. Episode by episode experience has not been good for me as it happened during GOT that some times i forget previous developments because so many characters are involved. Especially, a gap of season which is around 10-12 months makes me forget many things of the previous season. But you can't wait for a program to end in 5-10 years to have a proper viewing :)
I also sometimes think about first letting the complete season finish before viewing the GOT. But the suspense gets better of me.

Strong suspicion that the young blond Park visitor man is actually the Ed Harris character thirty years earlier.

Yep. It is. Keeps shifting between two different time frames 30 years apart.

Right, a few clues such as the different logo, how Delores apperas to recognise the Man in Black, and the 'early' robot version of Delores compared to the later 'replicant' version.

Remarkable series,I was glad I binged watched it(without forums posts or trailers) and although some of the twists could be predicted but overall very well written and as usual amazing acting by Anthony Hopkins.

Like the concept of "subconscious through a maze than a pyramid" some very good writing there. The new audience is able to predict so much that writers have to really be always on their toes.

Just watched the finale.

Wonderful television. I enjoyed the Man In Black's little smile as he realised the hosts could fight back, though it meant his life.

What will happen in season two? Will the hosts overrun the park and set it up as a rebublic?

Lmao don't think so but defn they seem more compassionate compared to Humans,I assumed they would show something of the Samurai world which they "left to guesses" but apparently they are not.

Would be wonderful to see if they can show changes to adapt and the choices they make in terms of how to deal with humans remaining in the facility(workforce) and if they try to change their "cornerstone stories" but for average public that would be boring and we might end up seeing something like "Dawn of planet of AI bots" nonsense.

Already downloaded the 3 episodes of current season but not yet started watching them. Currently finishing the 3rd season of Spartacus

Watched the first two episodes last night. I wasn't sure if I would get into it this time, it has got the potential to go all over the place because of the open canvas, similar to Lost which got ridiculous about halfway through. But I like Westworld, it's got a really strong cast and I can see myself getting gripped again. Always helps when it's something completely different to anything else out there.

What strikes me is how strong the emotions felt by the hosts are - Dolores’s hatred and fury in her Wyatt persona, with her love for her ‘father’, who appears to be a key character this season; Maeve’s love for her ‘daughter’.

Season 2 is out. Can they recreate same excellence again?

I would wait for the season to finish and then watch it all.

Wow what an episode! probably this episode 4 was the greatest so far in both seasons. First 3 episodes of this second season were dull but what a surprise was the 4th one really loved it

Am i the only one left on PP still enjoying the second season of this great great show!

Episode 7 and 8 were super (still episode 4 was the best)

Season Two isn't as good as Season One.

I was impressed by the story of trying to put the CEO's mind into a host, but Maeve's and Dolores's meanderings haven't held much interest.

Am a couple of episodes behind so maybe it will warm up.

I'm really struggling with this season. I have all the episodes downloaded, but only managed to get through the first 4 episodes so far. It's like Walking Dead after the first few series, once it starts getting too convoluted, even if there is the odd good episode you tend to lose interest after a certain point.

I'm in love with this season

Episode 8 is one of the beautiful episode I have ever watched in any TV series

Season 2's best episode was 4, it made you sit up and take proper notice but generally this season is too too convoluted or maybe it is my aging brain but one needs to do homework to keep up with the various strands, perhaps binge watching the whole season is the way to go.

Definitely. Ideas and screenplay is a little complex for one episode per week thing.

It's a shame no one's watching. Do yourselves a favour guys! All other shows pale in comparison.

Final episode watched and I have forgiven the meanderings of certain episodes of season 2. Gonna watch it again to join the dots and admire the setting, some of the landscape shots should be hanging in art houses.

That ending will take a bit of thought.

I’m glad that
Delores got out.
.

A disturbing post credit scene for the Man in Black, suggesting a type of Hell for him....

Tessa Thompson does a really good Dolores. That steely gaze and economy of movement. Wonder where she sent the hosts?

I watched the first couple episodes of this show but never quite got into it. The pacing was too slow for my taste.

Superb final episode and superb season will recommend anyone to watch full season of this masterpiece before giving up in the beginning. I am going to put this show in top tier now with the likes of the wire, breaking bad and game of thrones

so i finally watched the second season - COMPLETE MASTERPIECE - The show just gets better and better what is scary though is when this happens in real.

Cant wait for season 3 with Dolaurous out in the world

The tune similarities of westworld and om shanti om, is it some old tune that is being used in both?

I really struggled to finish season 2 but I agree there was some really good stuff in there amongst the dross. Dolores is a really watchable character, especially her relationship with the constantly confused Teddy.

Westworld season three

A lot to catch up on after the confusing final episodes of season two that first aired two years ago.

Delores is doing industrial espionage to get control of an AI resource, Delores-Charlotte is getting control of Delos in William’s absence, Bernard is hiding out as a butcher somewhere in South West Asia, and Aaron Paul plays an ex-soldier doing crime via an app.

Lavish sets, the usual unsettling music and dialogue ever harder to hear....

I haven't seen any of this series.

Having just finished Ozark from season one to three in 5 days, and then season 4 of money heist in two days, me and the mrs are looking to get in to another box set.

Any good?

i have seen two season and a few episodes of season 3. i can't take it anymore. i will not watch. Got very boring

I liked cameo by Benioff / Weiss / Drogon, suggesting that GoT us another section of Westworld.

this will be interesting considering there leaving the park now. very good futuristic series mixed in with esotericism

It is interesting that a corporation rather than government is trying to stop Delores. Government doesn’t even know. Data harvesting corporations are more powerful than government in the future.

very scary and very dangerous that no government wants to talk about, which is probably the most important topic to discuss but never comes up in any election debate.

Homo Deus was a great book by Noah Harri on the topic.

I’m on s2 right now hopefully they don’t show like 5g conspiracy theories lol

They don’t.

It gets harder to follow. There is a lot going on, with the time jumps back to around 2015 and into the far future.

Thought that was the way it would eventually go.

Yes it’s still really good with twists and turns but no more originality as such eventhough the way it’s been done and directed is still excellent.

Season 1 was the best IMO. The themes of awakening and slavery fascinated me.
