I remember at one stage SA had a gun bowling line-up in ODIs which consisted of Steyn, Morkel, Philander, McLaren, and Tsotsobe, and the likes of Parnell weren't even fit enough to make it into their squad.

While I last heard that McLaren is now sort of ineligible due to the fact that he joined MCL, and Tsotsobe is involved in match-fixing scandals in the Ram Slam, why were they dropped in the first place?

McLaren is in the Karachi Kings squad. Top bowler, but often went missing with the bat.
Tsotsobe was pretty mediocre tbh.

Still remember when Afridi launched McLaren out of Jo'Burg :)))

Lonwabo is fat and is a DJ, i met him at joint this past summer I wasn't impressed with his deejaying skills either. Poor attitude destroyed his career. Last i checked he was under investigation for match fixing as well.

He has a few good seasons where he was racking up solid numbers in ODIs

He looked innocuous with the ball and honestly wasn't much with either presence or skills but for a good period of time he was giving great returns and made you wonder how he was doing it

Just checked his record. 25 ODI bowling average with an economy of under 5. Great numbers!

In the last 5 years, South Africa has fielded quality all-rounders such as Ryan McLaren, Wayne Parnell, Chris Morris, Andile Phelukwayo, David Wiese, etc. While Pakistan was fielding rubbish such as Anwar Ali and Bilawal Bhatti.

Both Tsotsobe and Mclaren were on the receiving end that day. :afridi

He was a very good ODI player could have been great if he worked hard enough. Tsotsobe is built like a fridge, he's a big unit.
I'm not sure if you watched him play but he was anything but innocuous. His height was a big advantage, even with a lack of pace and on flat decks he got batsmen to hop around a bit and had great variation.
He only needed to develop a mean yorker or at least have the confidence to bowl it early in his spells rather than wait for the slog overs. On too many occasions when he was attacked upfront he refused to bowl it, only bowled it later usually to great effect. Attitude or lack thereof destroyed him.

Tsotsobe picked 15 wickets against Pakistan in 3 or 4 matches.

Yes it's always against Pakistan :-) .
We are proud sponsors of getting players back into form, or get there career starting, lost count how many instances we have managed to arrange that :yk3
