So proud of the massive win against our arch rival, i literally had tears of joy. Congrats everyone for this well deserved victory.

But what if, Bumrah's foot wasn't over the line and Pakistan had lost Zaman early and then struggled their way to set a target of 240-250. Do you think Indian batsmen - especially the top 4 - would have performed better or would they still have been mercilessly brutalized by pakistani bowlers ?

What are your thoughts ?

If Fakhar was gone early, we dont really know what would have happened, would we have crashed (the boys surely didnt look to be in that mental zone) or would we still have made 300+... woulda coulda shoulda, at the end of the day we won, and thats what matters.

enjoy the win

In that case I think Babar would've made a big score, albeit not at the same SR. He was looking good today and got out slogging. He wouldn't have slogged if Fakhar got out so early.

Probably best to keep to what actually happened rather than what didn't happen. If Bumrah had not overstepped then maybe Pakistan would have made 400. We will never know.

Hahah I like this thinking.

Don't think, it would have mattered - India's top 4 didn't get out to score board pressure; rather got out to almost unplayable balls or being out foxed. Not to mention fab 3, who would have got out to those balls probably even if the target was 39 while UV was mesmerized by the kid, with ball turning both ways. Even MS was beaten by pace in his attempted pull. Pandeya connected few when the game was lost & Sarfy carrying on spinners - at 72/6, had he brought Amir & JK for couple each, don't see Pandeya carrying long enough to take score past even 100. These are few special days when almost everything clicks for the bowling unit & it takes 10 balls to knock one innings.

if we lost Zaman I think we still would have got 300. Hafeez was hitting so cleanly, Sarfraz still to come in. Babar wouldn't have lost his wicket hitting out as he'd have to stay in most likely. Pretty much everyone contributed bar Malik, and when 6 out of 7 batsmen fire, you're gonna make a decent score.

India were always going to find it tough to chase even 250 with Amir's spell which knocked down their 3 best batsmen before the 10th over was completed. Not to mention had it'd been 250 target, Sarfraz would have brought in his better bowlers on rather than leaving them to the end, so I don't think Pandeya would have had the opportunity to smash the spinners as much.

If Amir was as fired up, it wouldn't have mattered. India's top order would have still been blown away.

However, I don't think Dhoni would have gone for the pull that got him out.

The Bumrah no-ball definitely sent the match in a different direction. The change in Fakhar's expression and demeanour was 180 degrees.

But the main point is:

That was one setback.

If India were unable to recover from one mistake, then they were not good enough and Pakistan relentlessly had something better to offer as a counter.
