Another example: Facebook had developed two AI bots to analyze their behaviour. The bots were given basic rules of the English language in order to communicate. Soon the bots developed their own language to ease in communication. If you read their conversation it would appear as random smattering of words and complete gibberish but Facebook translated what the bots were communicating. A full paragraph of text in a single sentence. Facebook had to turn off these AI bots.
This was written by journalists who do not know what AI is. Facebook did not "have to turn off the bots". You can read the actual facebook research paper which led to the sensationalist reports.
Climate change. Everything else is transient.
Google's AI bot learned the entirety of human knowledge with regards to chess and all the possible moves and strategies in a mere four hours just by playing against itself. The bot then proceeded to beat the most advanced computer to play the game.
If that isn't scary I don't know what is.
