What is the Difference Between A G1 bat and a Players grade

Do bat makers select players bats purely on its cosmetic appearance or do they select them by their performance? Is there any difference in performance between these bat grades? because i was thinking to buy a Slazenger v1200 Elite/Ultimate. The Elite model costs around $350 and the Ultimate costs about $420.

Some do and some don't. I bought an MB Malikg Limited Edition, it looked pretty good, 14 grains. Then bought Hammer Vaper core, it was expensive but okay ish grains and okay ish appearance. People in my team love my MB, but they are a bit too heavy, even for me. If you aren't about brand and what not, i'ld prefer MB, Larson and other Indian/Pakistani cheap bats that actually play well. If money ain' t your problem, go for the higher one.

All marketing gimmicks, I do like straight narrow grains however most defining aspect would be such as how the bat was pressed etc.
