What Lahore Qalandars could have been....

what Qalandars need to realise is that while it is awesome and great to get new talent coming in, they cannot pump in 4/5 newbies in the tournament at one time... 1 or max 2 shld be the limit. the rest either need to be established domestic players or even u-19 veterans....

If we see how Zeeshan Ashraf, Haider Ali, Ahmad Abdullah, Umer Khan and Aamir Ali Khan have played, its because of their experience of the game at either u-19 level or domestic level.

Qalandars shluld have brought in Dilbur Hussain for sure and maybe Muhammad Faizan and thats it ...

They should have gone for some domestic players... maybe taken the likes of Umar Amin, Zeeshan Malik, M.Harris (the u-19 guy), Saud Shakil, Hassan Khan, ZAFAR GOHAR (yes he was available) into their squad

For sure, need to get rid of Haffeez and Fakhar.... Haffez is past his utility date at the turn of the decade and Fakhar's 1 useful deed has been done in the CT17 and to top it up, PLATINUM ? really?

could have gotten likes of

Harris Sohail could be taken in Gold.... fail to understand how people discard him. For me he is the best pakistani batsmen in the team at the min. Rank him above Babar but he ufortunatly due to his injuries and laziness doesnt get it done). again would be ideal

Rile Rosso in platinum, picked by multan but multan 1st pick was moeen ali and qalandars, had they not taked fakhar zaman already, would have had 1st pick of platinum round 2 and could have gotton Rile Rosso.. perfect middle order batsmen.. would have been ideal

Taken Alex Hales and that, with Lynn, would have made a fearful, probably best and most destructive opening combo , parallel to Roy/Watson or just above tht

Taken Styen-Gun ... would have been ideal for like of Harris Rauf and SSA and Dilbur Hussain to bowl with the legand of 2000z and 2010z .....

so they could potentially have had

1) Lynn
2)Hales
3)Harris Sohail
4)Rile Rosso or Saud Shakeel or Umar Amin
5)Rile Rosso or Saud Shakeel or Umar Amin (2 of the 3 need to play)
6) M. Harris
7)Sohail Akhter
8) Zafar Gohar
9) Styen Gun
10) Harris
11)SSA

This could have been the team... really dont know what they are thinking

3 pacers of extreme quality
an excellent sla.. would have played the whole tournament
the dazzling opening partnership
2 extremly intellengent middle order players who can play at any pace .. Harris Sohail and Rile Rosso

Umar Amin , aggressive, intellegent deserving with Sohail Akhter to provide tht punch

Harris, the keeper, an excellent batsmen as well

Zafar Gohar and Styn can hit a few as well

David Wise and Samit Patels and Dunks could keep ur bench strong .... but this could have been it

They need new ownership because they are the source of Qalandar’s problems. The current owners do not appear to be interested in winning matches, but are more concerned with providing entertainment and meme content.

People can bash the coaching staff and the players all they want, but they did not select themselves.

As long as there is no change in ownership or there is no change in the attitude of the current owners, nothing will change for Qalandars.

You have got 4 platinum players in Hales, Lynn, Rossouw and Steyn. I dont think its allowed as only three can be picked by each team.

Other than that I agree that LQ could have selected a much better squad and even the coach.

Sometimes changing the name of the franchise helps.

They should change it to Lahore Nationals or something more and more of the population can connect with.

Branding etc makes a huge difference in mindset.

Totally agree , They are most popular without winning ,They have lot of sympathy. They are earning a lots due to sympathy of cricketer viewer and general public with them.

would personally drop Lynn and play the remaining 3 .. and have Umar Amin, Harris Sohail and Rile Rossow in the middle order... Sohail Akhtar can open... he was doing wonderfully well in last year PSL before for some stupid reason he was asked to bat down the order

Need an experienced bowler.. the whole point of PSL type leagues is to give chance to bowlers like SSA and HArris and Dilbur to play in match situations with an experienced bowler...SSA is the leader of the pack for pakistan but he is 19 or 20 and hasnt played mcuh.. he wont get tht experience in internationals but could have used an elederly hand here

Got it. Point well made. Problem for LQ has always been its management and they need to sort it out and maybe add proper analyst or two in the staff.

3 are too many to try in an big game... these 3 with Sohail Akhtar ... maybe too much

would have played 2 of the 4....Sohail Akhtar...Dilbur...Faiza..Maaz .... only 2 of these....

Sohail Akhtar shld open.. thts the only slot he can bat... useless down the order..but can b very effective upfront
