What position should Asif Ali bat at in T20Is?

Asif looks to be THE hitter Pakistan team needs. Clean hitting down the ground. I think he should bat atleast at 5.

Babar should not come if first wicket falls after 8 overs.

Apart from Babar all are hitters.

Sarfraz, Haris and Hussain are just not helping to the cause.

No, he's not at the right position. Your best player of Pace faces just 18 deliveries.

You could. But it's just T20s, not that serious. Sarfraz could easily take a backseat, but I think it's important he gets practice in for ODIs given he's crucial there. And Malik is doing extremely well at 5 in T20s anyway. And 5 is perfect for him in T20s, at 4 arguably he might be exposed to the new ball/pacers too early.

6 is fine. I think the bigger issue is that opener and no.3 are stalling the run rate a bit. Which should change when Babar replaces Haris, and Talat should improve.

You can always send Asif up the order if we get a good start anyway, use him as a floater.

I'd like to move Asif up to 3 so we can make better use of the Powerplay overs. The key to posting big scores in T20s is how you start. As we saw today if you get to 80-2 after 10 then you have a platform and confidence to just keep hitting in the last 10.

You shouldn't save your big hitters for last.

Hussain Talat has potential but lacks the consistent boundary hitting ability needed for T20s. His run a ball knocks will be a liability if chasing scores of 160 plus. Even today he was fortunate with two drops.

Where he is batting now - 6 is just fine. Obviously, depending on the situation he can always come in earlier or later but I think we should keep him as a number 6 batsman as I think it's a good situation for him - to come in with a platform and add some quick runs!
