So far, he has failed to click in PSL 2020 and become a liability for QG, what are their options?

Admins, please add a poll.

  1. Keep Ahmed Shehzad at Number 3
  2. Bench Ahmed Shehzad and release him at the end of the Season
  3. Drop Ahmed Shehzad down the order

Option 4 release him now and don't let him play any form of cricket. Rubbish batsmen.

He is an utter embarrassment. I have no idea why they keep picking him..

He's bad, but not as bad as Shan Masood getting picked!

And made the captain too.

:)))

I seriously believe this guy is an age fudger. He burst on the scene as a 17 year old and people called him the next coming of Sachin. Only a handful years later he’s not even 20% of what he showed. Definitely 4 to 5 years older than what his “official” age is.

You will be hard pressed to find a Pakistani cricketer who is not an age-fudger.

I would vote but there isn't an option of releasing him which should be added.

One of the best performers in the history of PSL. Deserves to play every game and be fully supported by coach and captain to come good.

Doesn't make sense why Shehzad is preferred over Ahsan when the latter was part of the national team a series ago. Need to see more of Ahsan.

True. I get it’s been a custom but how can the players and their coaches live with that. You’re 20+ playing against genuine U19s and think you’re a future star. Our people really are pathetic.

Clearly Ahsan is more deserving than Ahmad Shahzad in Q Gladiator squad:kohli

They should continue to back him, and stop batting him out of position.
Shehzad is better than Kohli

Hahahha lol

Did you see those sixes today?! Very few batsmen in the world can play shots like that. Maybe only Shehzad, Warner, Umar and Faf, not even Kohli

We have a young gem, but no one is able to support him properly. Just need to groom him and give a few proper chances

Big difference is Shan has insight into his own limitations, a half decent IQ and has demonstrated an adequate sense of responsibility.
Hes not cut out for the T20 format but i have no doubt he will improve quite a bit with time.
Shehzad is an absolute lost cause. Cut from the same cloth as UA.

Ahmed Shehzad in PSL 2020: 7, 12, 11 and 12

Shan Masood in PSL 2020: 38, 21, 8 and 61

Please savour this humiliation and slap on the face as long as it hurts. :jk :vk2

well, at least Shehzad is consistent - that is a big positive and much needed in T20 cricket. Masood is all over the place

I rather have Shehzad's consistency over Masood's competence

Shehzad is too handsome and stylish to sit on the sidelines.
Regardless of performance Quetta much not drop him!!

Not play him for the rest of the season and then release him for the next PSL season.

Unfortunately, his replacement would be ahsan ali, who is worse.

Better to stick with shezhad than playing ahsan.

For the time being, they should stick with him, because his replacements are .... you know. At the end of the season, they should try to trade him with LQ, in exchange of Shaheen, which I am sure LQ will accept.

PSL 5 output:

7 matches
61 runs
12 highest
8.7 average
95.3 strike-rate

In an interview earlier today:

"First of all, I believe there is no excuse in life. Whatever position you in life, you got to do that. Especially in franchise cricket, you're paid to play well. In our team composition, I was fitting in at #3.

"But I've been opening the batting throughout my life since I was young and for QG I've done quite a bit while opening the batting. So it was a new challenge for me, I've been giving my 100% and unfortunately, it couldn't pay off.

"It was a challenge for me but there's no excuse in life."

He is talking as if QG made him play in the lower order all season.

You went from opener to #3.. you're still in the top order. Why are you treating this like it's an enormous challenge that you never thought you'd face being a cricketer?

He's giving ridiculous excuses and then ending it off by saying that there are no excuses in life.

He might have a career as a youtuber, vlogger, tik tok, or even something on tv b4 its too late for that..Shezzy time to salvage, no excuses...

Khurram Manzoor scored more runs in his first innings than Shehzad in whole PSL.

These numbers would be poor even for a number 11 batsman.

No love lost.

Pakistan is cursed, it has players like UA who have natural talent but zero work ethic in terms of improving his fitness. Then it has players like AS who has zero natural talent but fantastic work ethic in terms of his fitness. We just can't find players with the perfect balance.

He’s here to stay. He knows too many higher level people. I just saw video of Viv Richards saying ‘he is one of the most talented players I’ve come across’.
What do people see in this guy? Zero talent.

Quetta were bound to lose with Shehzad and Sarfraz in the middle order, two useless batsmen.

Khurram Manzoor's effort in the last game, just rubbed salt in the wounds for Shehzad, so many chances, so much faith - utter embarrasment

Its very hard to get rid of a performing seasoned player but they have to let him go:vk2

He is very talented (see his past record) and very hardworking (see his Instagram video's) - just lacking some confidence.

If they make him captain next season, that will spur him on to greatness. Just look at what happened to Shan Masood

I remember in the early 2010s, I thought that in LOIs Ahmed Shehzad, Nasir Jamshed, and Umar Akmal would be our future, world-beating top 3 comparable to what Rohit-Dhawan-Kohli became. Man that was a pipe dream :rp.

Tell Ahmed shehzad there’s always kfc. He’s a wasteman now, no respect and no commitment

He can't complain regarding the lack of chances at PSL5. He and Azam got ample chances but flopped.

Doing well in the Sri Lanka Premier League, top scored for the Kandy Warriors with 56. Getting some praise for holding the innings together on a difficult pitch.

No place for Shehzad in Quetta or any other team as he does not secure a place in PSL 7.

No Shehzad and also no Shinwari. Hopefully this is the kick up the backside these two need to refocus on there careers and progress there careers.
