Now lets be honest the bowlers selected for the Aus tour are not very good. Plus we didn't select an all-rounder.

So if you were to choose the Test Bowling Attack what would be your bowling attack?

This would be mine

Mohammad Amir
Junaid Khan
Yasir Shah

Amad Butt/Mir Hamza
Fahim Ashraf/Amir Yamin (Batting all-rounders who bat at 6/7)

This would be an ideal bowling attack for overseas. Right now I don't know how we will pick up wickets in the 2nd innings with only 4 bowlers.

So what would your Ideal Test Bowling Attack be?

I'm not sure if Mohammad Asif because of his age or Junaid Khan. So I picked Junaid Khan as he can be a good long term option.

Muhammad Asif
Muhammad Amir
Junaid Khan / Mir Hamza
Ghulam Mudassar/ Muhammad Abbas / Ali Imran Pasha / Amad Butt
Yasir Shah

Mohammad Amir
Junaid Khan
Yasir Shah
Fast bowling AR (Amir Yamin or Fahim Ashraf)
Spin AR

I will bring in Mohammed Hafeez and kick out Sami Aslam (this guy dropped 3 of Amir's catches)

Your going to drop a emerging young batsman for a 36 year old, just because he dropped a few catches?

Plus Hafeez dropped a few as well during the Eng tour.

Mohammad Amir
Mohammad Asif (If Fit)
Yasir Shah
Wahab Riaz
Aamer Yamin

I'd keep Wahab because his action is useful in Australian conditions.

Let's be honest this is not the best Pakistan bowling attack we have seen compared to the legendary ones we are used to.

Amir and Yasir are nailed on certainties. Sohail has performed well and I would stick with him although his second innings stats worry me. That leaves 2 and although I am a fan of Junaid, I don't rate him in the test arena as supposed to white ball cricket. Wahab would be my fourth bowler while I am very unsure on who else to bring in as the talent just isn't there. I am hearing the names Hammad Azam and Aamer Yamin as the fast bowling all rounder but to be honest I have not seen much of them. Maybe Asif for a recall for one of the others but I am struggling to pick quality bowlers and the ones on tour are the best we have- showing that our bowling attack is the weakest since I can remember.

LOL nothing you can say to that!! Amir was a headache at slip in the Eng tour

I agree with the strategy of having two all rounders and three specialist bowlers.
But they should be able to score some runs , otherwise this can be useless.

Asif
Yasir
Mir
Amir
Yamin= maybe not a top class bowler for tests, but will at the very least take the load off of the others and useful batsman at 7-8.

This is just for Aus tour btw, beyond that I don't really know about Asif.

For Australian conditions?

I want six fast bowlers:

1) Mohammad Amir
2) a top-class right-armer - Mohammad Asif
3) a very tall bowler who extracts difficult-to-play amounts of bounce - Mohammad Irfan, for the MCG only.
4) an aggressive guy who can bowl short and quick - Wahab Riaz, for Sydney and Melbourne only.
5) a reserve for Amir - Rahat Ali
6) a decent quick who can bat a bit - Hasan Ali
7) a batsman who can bowl some seam or swing.

I also want Yasir Shah, but because of the 7 left-handers I need a batsman who can bowl off-spin too - either Iftikhar Ali or Mohammad Hafeez.

My attack changes with the conditions at the three grounds.

1. DAY NIGHT CONDITIONS AT BRISBANE

6 Sarfraz Ahmed
7 Aamer Yamin
8 Hasan Ali
9 Yasir Shah
10 Mohammad Amir
11 Mohammad Asif

2. DAY TEST AT MELBOURNE - where you might have to bowl 130 overs

6 Iftikhar Ali
7 Sarfraz Ahmed
8 Yasir Shah
9 Wahab Riaz
10 Mohammad Amir
11 Mohammad Irfan

3. DAY TEST AT SYDNEY WHERE THE SURFACE IS ABRASIVE AND HELPS SPIN + REVERSE

6. Iftikhar Ali
7. Sarfraz Ahmed
8. Yasir Shah
9. Wahab Riaz
10. Mohammad Amir
11. Mohammad Asif

6. Sarfraz
7. Nawaz/Yamin (depending on form and conditions)
8. Ehsan Adil/Zafar/Asghar
9. Yasir Shah
10. Mohammad Amir
11. Wahab Riaz/Sohail Khan (depending on conditions)
