This is kind of an ambigous thread, you mean the car that I can possibly own one day or car that I would love to have if I had unlimited wealth?
1. Favorite car (if I want to own):
BMW 535i

2. Favorite car (if Bill Gates adopts me):
Lamborghini Aventador

I'm thinkin about buying a Dodge Viper, but Idk if that's too douchey for a college kid. Wanna stay humble.
Bro that comes across as hella douchy.. unless that is the imagine you are going for. Also your insurance would be through the roof if you own such a car at your age.

What do you think:

2009 model of the 1 series, diesel with a stunning 63 mpg ! the efficiency is amazing. 71K milleage, is about £5K
Tbh that looks like something an old man would drive.
Or a married man with kids.
Not a youngsta beauty like yourself.![]()
I personally own the 2014 Civic and I think it is a wonderful car. Wouldn't talk about my dream car because I won't be able to afford that.
However, I do have a 2009 Mark X in my family and it is the best car I've ever driven.

Are you looking to buy or have bought this?
Its actually quite a good deal (I converted the pound amount to Canadian and checked autotrader for 2009 1 series beamers)
However, 71k might be an issue, since within a year or a bit more than that you will cross the 100k mark (In Canada average distance driven in a year is 20k kilometers, last two years I have driven 30k each). As soon as you cross the 100k mark you are in dangerous territory when it comes to German cars, since their repairs are EXPENSIVE and you wouldn't want to dish out a 1000 pound for a broken ball joint or a faulty suspension.
If it comes with warranty or if BMW can offer you a warranty for it, then disregard whatever I just said.
Looking to the bears first vehicleI finally saved up to get one. You will find cars 7-8 years old with a fair amount of mileage so 70K (verified mileage as well for the blue car) was a middle ground for me and with that car in particular I like the colour and the fact that it is a diesel so in terms of price, colour and mileage it was the best I could find. And you're right, the parts are very expensive; however, would say German cars a lot more reliable compared to others and still go strong past 100K ? (although I won't be driving around a lot to cover 20K in a year would probably be 10-15K miles) the seller isn't BMW wouldn't buy from them directly as tend to be bit more expensive.
Here's a 2008 model (£300 greater in cost) although the colour is black, millage is also 54K but you know at times such numbers can be hard to believe because it is possible to clock back your millage (plus a car 8 years old you'd expect to have been driven around a lot although some folk don't drive around as much and take good care).

I guess black is not too bad either in terms of look, which one you think looks better the blue or the black? and which one would you go for out of the two? for the black model the trade seller also offers a warranty.
The black one is a much better deal but it also looks plain and boring. The blue one looks like fun.
Personally I'd go for the black since color of car isn't a huge deal for me.
Good luck and have fun. Beamers are a good time
I personally own a 2014 Toyota Corolla.
Although it is my first car - it is one of the best cars I have ever driven.
Corolla is good. Nice and small. Great handling. I like it better than Camry which is on the larger side.
My Dream Car : The Porsche 911 turbo ! (Make : the latest 911 is the greatest 911 !!)

It has been my favourite since 2001 when I first played Need for SPeed : Porsche Unleashed as a 8 year old. Very few marques have had such a long and continuous history as the 911 . That game pretty much made you fall in love with that car. (one of the most Underrated Racing Games ever) .
Porsche started off with a fundamentally flawed design, (engine at the rear), but over the course of time kept on improving the car, ironing out its flaws one by one, little by little.
It is almost a paralell to how human beings evolve. None of us are born perfect. Each and every one of us would have on or the other flaws, which we iron out with sheer determination and effort , over the course of time.
It has reached a point where each new 911 will better the previous model in every single metric (performance, efficiency, tech) , yet remaining as recognizable & competent as ever.
The 911 arguably has one of the most iconic and recognizable automotive shapes and the Turbo is its most potent road usable form !.. The 911 rarely has been the greatest sports car of any given year, but for the last 25 years at least it have never been out of the top 5 ..
PS: If I did have 1.5 Cr INR to blow up in a car and A CAR only , I'd pretty much buy myself a Range Rover or a Porsche Cayenne Turbo.. They are best suited for Kerala roads (cracked up surface , torrential rain and twisted hilly roads). But the 911 remains my favourite for ever.
I drive a Honda City (our family car) 2009 model.

Poor mans driver's car for Indians. Sharp handling , fantastic petrol engine and great performance too(surprisingly good FE as well !) . Only if my dad let me upgrade the skinny rubber on the wheels !

Mark X is pretty good but you can get an Audi A3 in the same price bracket - which is out of the world compared to Mark X.

Don't tell me you can afford it.![]()
Also as shaz619 mentioned- honorable mention to BMW M2- brilliant road car and engineered to perfection.
Awesome car mate, wish I could afford it now; I don't want to be a budda when I drive that![]()
Also shout out to this beast:

You guys wouldn't believe its limits if I told you Red Devil) In Pak me relative has driven it in every scenario and terrain imaginable, including one which was entirely covered in stones as me head kept bouncing off the roof top as he blasted some Qawali, I think he must have had at least 3 spare tyres lol and still there was enough space for passengers and airport like cargo lol

Yaar Honda City is LIT. Very fuel efficient and has a good drive. I'm not very satisfied with the breaks despite ABS because all four wheels do not have disc breaks but a very good car nonetheless.
Oh, they make it the same everywhere ? I used to think the front-only discs were the India-specific cheapening option. But overall the car is rock solid and reliable as well. Only problem is the short ground clearance ,which are a bane on broken desi roads. But they overcompensated for the GC in the newer City models in India. Now they is noticeable roll in the ride and the handling feels slightly compromised. But nowhere near as bad as the Hyundai sedans though.
Big of the classics!!

I saw that firebird for about £11K a year back in the UK, was a pretty good deal.
What is the name of the beamer ? which model is that, looks awesome
Haha, its the same everywhere loool. Is yours automatic or manual? I personally feel that Desi roads aren't suitable for automatic cars. Sure yeah, you get good roads in developed cities or developed areas but rest of the country is still pretty much not suited to auto cars.
This is fun to sit in:

Concept of favorite things makes life miserable. One should be at peace with what one has and make the most of it. You only love the Lamborghinis and Bentleys because you cannot have them, when you will have them you will love something else that you wouldn't have at that time. Frightening thought is we're mostly driving/using what we realistically looked for and still not enjoying them.

My favorite car, for deeply personal reasons, is the Honda Accord. My parents have always had an Accord, and ever since I've had cars, I've had an Accord.
Back in the Zia days, the military regime started doling out government jobs to Armed Forces personnel. The Civil Aviation Authority, where my father worked, saw an influx of Air Force officers in the top jobs. My father was assigned to a new training institute as an instructor, where there was a marked difference in the perks the bloody civvies received and what the faujis were getting, including Honda Accords for the senior ones.
The institute had a monthly magazine, and my mother wrote an article to it, mildly poking fun at the contrast in the benefits. The Commandant's wife was livid. She summoned my mother to the club, where all the Air Force wives were gathered, and gave her a good dressing down. My mother refused to back down, insisting the article be published as-is, or not at all. It did get published, but not before the Commandant's wife delivered the final riposte, "well, we can't give you a Honda Accord, now can we?" Soon, my father was transferred to a much less desirable position in a different city altogether.
Needless to say, that remark cut to the bone, and still does. So when my parents could finally afford a car, they had to get an Accord, and they, and I, have had one ever since. If and when I get really rich and can buy Ferraris, I'll still keep an Accord in the stable.
By the way, the Commandant and his wife got divorced, because he was having an affair with a younger woman, and later he was stripped of his rank and benefits for corruption. It was (and probably is) rare for them to haul a senior officer over the coals, but sometimes they feel the need to make an example out of somebody for appearances' sake. Also the less desirable position we were transferred to was a blessing in disguise, since it opened one door after the other, and we became far more successful than we would've been had this episode not played out.
Wow what a beautiful story.
I'm a firm believer that in the end the truthful and righteous always win and the noose tightens around the corrupts, liars and deceits. This is another example of it playing out that way. They have to repay one way or the other.
I also drive an Accord and it is a beaut of a car. Although mine is a 2008 and the old lass is getting on in the years now. May give me a couple more years before I have to put her to rest.
