What's new

What's your favourite Christmas song?

Santa Baby. Basically any version of this song. But the original is still the best.

last christmas I gave you my heart, the very next day you gave it away.

that's like the first one that comes to mind, don't remember the full lyrics nor the name :asif

but 'twas a catchy tune back in the day.

I like the one that goes like last christmas I gave you ma heart the very next day you took it away (stopped listening to it because it's so depressing LOL but such a good song) and all I want for christmas is you oooooh baybaaay by maria ALPHA carey. I also like Jingle Bombs by Akhmed :)))

Last christmas by George Michael

Do they know its christmas by Band Aid

Greg Lake's I Believe in Father Christmas. It's quite dark:

Hallelujah, Noel! Be it Heaven, or Hell
the Christmas we get, we deserve.

Last Christmas for me too, although Mariah Carey's All I want for Christmas earns my respect for crashing into the top 5 all time legendary yuletide songs, that too from a contemporary artist.

Here you go. The quality is poor but watch to the end - it is surprisingly appropriate to today's events.

Greg Lake wrote Christmas songs? :O I can only think of mad stuff like King Crimson and ELP when I hear that name :D

Feliz Navidad of course....no matter when, where or how many times I have heard this song, it puts an instant smile on my face and makes everything around me feel festive and happy.

Last Christmas I gave you my heart... for me too. I heard it for the first time few days ago playing in a Tesco and immediately fell in love with it.

Seems to be very popular in UK.

Jingle Bell Rocks
Dashing through the snows (I know its for kids. Still love it)

This one is obviously the king but can get annoying when it's played wherever you go:

Always loved Leona, this came out a while back:

Obv. Jingle Bells. White Christmas is fun to sing only if it is snowing.

I am now into my thirty fifth year of wishing that I was Andrew from Wham!

I never grow out of it. And the lucky guy is the partner of Keren from Bananarama, which makes a total mug out of anyone who thinks that George Michael was the lucky one.

But Fairytale of New York is what showcases why the British and Irish culture just rocks.

On a sad note, I saw David Bowie and Bing Crosby do "Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy" today, which made me terribly sad.

It has been a really horrible year losing David Bowie, Victoria Wood and Terry Wogan. Absolutely terrible.

And Brucie isn't much longer for this earth either.

That time of year again!

From Nov till the end of Dec or even star of Jan until it has fully snowed is the most depressing period of life in this neck of the woods.

And the thing is made worse by a lot of places playing last xmas song because forget the catchy tune, the lyrics are so depressing.

This has to be hands down the most stressful and difficult period to live.

I suppose Wham's Last Christmas is up there even though it's such an inane four chord repeated loop, that rips off Kool & The Gang's 'Joanna' and is only saved by George Michael's voice.

Also like Chris Rea's 'Driving Home for Christmas' & Mud's 'Lonely This Christmas'
