Seems that UAE is the current favourite but heat is an issues so possibly another country (if not Pakistan) can be considered.

And on top of that, shouldn't health/safety concerns take precedence? Why expose players to any risk at all?

Discuss.

Pakistan.
Which players were at risk the last time?

Just look at football in europe. The whole circus goes on as well. In Asia people have made themself crazy.

I think it might be Sri Lanka. The weather there could be better. Then again PSL matches can be played at late night also in UAE. We got 20 games to play. Should be wrapped up in Max 12 playing days. If need be play 2 league matches at same time in different venues.

Also what about The windies - use Sammy links and play on at lucia. Safest bubble available to all.

No chance in srilanka as India team touring there in june - July for 5 T20 & 3 ODI .westindies time zone is different for India - Pakistan fans so no chance there also .

2 safest options at the moment:

Either don't play it at all
Play it in UAE

Latest news - UAE bans entry of travelers from Pakistan and India. Ban is also applicable for transit passengers.

Is that the end of the PSL in UAE proposal?

Entry for Indians also ban in UK still Indian team traveling there so this not a big issue as players can get permit easily

If they don't feel it can be safely done in Pakistan and UAE is off the table, making the season null and void seems the best option. Can't risk having the competition start up and then be stopped due to covid issues.

The PCB will need to aim for another window later in the year. Unlikely many players will come to Pakistan, UAE is out of the equation for now.

The heat in UAE in June will be unbearably hot. I don't know what the PCB is thinking but the players are going to struggle a lot even at night.

The chances of PSL’s sixth edition resuming in the United Arab Emirates in June diminished after the UAE government announced a ban on travellers from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The travel ban will come into effect from Wednesday.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was in talks with the Emirates Cricket Board to seek permission from the UAE government to hold the remaining 20 matches of the PSL in Dubai and Abu Dhabi from June 1.

“The PCB was expecting things to be finalised in next 24 hours due to the Eid holidays in both countries but now with this ban imposed by the UAE government till May 12, the only option available to the PCB is to hold the matches in Karachi,” a source said on Monday.

He said the PCB was reluctant to have the matches in Karachi or anywhere in Pakistan given the experience of last March when the league had to be postponed due to a sudden surge in COVID cases among players and officials.

A board official has also said that the National Command and Operations Authority, which oversees COVID-19 situation in Pakistan, had also advised the PCB against holding the matches in Karachi.

“Their is one more suggestion to have it in Sri Lanka if not in UAE, but that will require a lot of logistical and other issues and will also be dependent on clearance from the government,” another source said.

Pakistan’s former captain and batting great, Javed Miandad, has advised the PCB against holding the PSL’s remaining matches.

“I think this is not the right time to be playing cricket when all the focus is on saving lives from this dreaded virus,” Miandad told a cricket website.

He criticised the PCB for thinking about even shifting the PSL matches to UAE.

“This is not the time to play cricket, it is the time to save lives. In these times of crisis, we should be more focused on saving lives rather than playing cricket.

“The whole world has been affected by the coronavirus. India, where the world cup was supposed to take place, is also severely affected by the epidemic,” he noted.

It's easy for people outside the PCB to tell them to avoid completing the PSL but they are not aware of the losses the PCB will face. The PCB is not bcci where it can afford the losses. Even the BCCI itself cannot afford to not complete the IPL

Complete it in Pakistan itself with mostly domestic players and an odd foreigner who would be willing to participate. Conduct it with strict protocol's and no room for any error. PCB will suffer heavy losses if the PSL doesn't get completed, even BCCI is desperate to conduct the remainder of the IPL as it can't suffer loss either.

I don't see why it isn't possible to conduct the remaining matches in just one venue that is Karachi.

Chances look dim of resumption - UAE to make an exception for Pakistan cricketers? not sure if we have enough clout.

Only choice is to play at Karachi and use all the resources to make it a success, there is not reason it cannot be done . For how long you will keep cancelling events, learn to live with reality and learn to manage it.

June is way too hot for playing cricket in UAE.
Proper protocols can be followed adequately in UAE only for cricket tournaments at the moment.

Even Pakistan is not a suitable place host cricket in June specifically for weather unless the matches are held strictly after 7pm or even during the night. Or somehow in venues like Abbottabad or some other cold region. It's just as ridiculous as it sounds. The pandemic hasn't made things better either.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – It was reported Saturday that after all matters were settled, it was decided that the remaining matches of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6 will be held in UAE’s Abu Dhabi.

According to sources, the remaining matches will be played in Abu Dhabi. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) delegation has settled all matters with the Emirates Cricket Board. PCB will reschedule the matches to be completed by June 20.

Sources said that the PCB officials are waiting for the Emirates Cricket Board to get the green signal from their government tomorrow. Permission from UAE government is still required due to Eid holidays. A 7-member PCB delegation was present in the UAE on Eid and both boards are hopeful that they will be granted the permission.

To recall, only 14 matches of the tournament had been played when it was halted. Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi led the points table with six points each while Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars also had six points each but had played only four matches.

Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6 matches were postponed after the third wave of coronavirus hit Pakistan, after which the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced that the remaining matches would take place later on.
