1928-1948 = Don Bradman Era

1954-1974 = Garfield Sobers Era

1974-1994= Viv Richards Era

1994- 2012= Sachin Tendulkar Era

2013-2027(I'm assuming 2027 will be kohli's final WC)= Virat Kohli Era

Which batsmen will lead the next Era?

Shubman Gill for me, at only 24 he has already scored 9 international centuries, including an ODI double. He is class in the making

Jaiswal is going to join. So much hunger. All format player concepts will die down slowly. So many leagues. So players will have problems adapting to different formats. You will see different teams for different formats. Under-19 team gives you a preview on who is going to be future stars.

2016 - under-19

Rishab Pant
Finn Allen
Glen Philips
Hetmyer
Rachin Ravindra

2018 - under 19

Shubman Gill
Finn Allen
Prithvi Shaw
Athanaze
Harry Brook
Rachin Ravindra (2nd time)

2020 - under 19

Yashasvi jaiswal

2022 - under 19

Dewal Brevis
Tom Prest
Yash Dhull

In my opinion, it will be Shubman Gill and Jaiswal. These 2 players are in a league of their own, so well-groomed and pleasing to the eye when they bat.

Gotta choose one mate. Only one man may grab the crown 👑

All format died down even in the kohli era. Kohli isn't the best test batsmen.

Imo he's top 10 test batsmen, best odi bat and top 5 t20 bats.

He still leads the era though, when you think about the leader post Tendulkar era, Kohli comes to mind.

Their are some disagreements like some people think it's De Villiers or babar, But kohli is the most popular opinion.

Harry Brook
Ravindra
Abdullah Shafique

But if I have to pick one I'll say Brook.

I think Devon Conway will be in the conversation, very impressed by him. The other obvious one is Shubman Gill.

Impressed by Saud and Abdullah Shafique, particularly in Test matches, but we will see how consistent they remain in ODIs.

Viv Richards wasn’t the greatest batter of his era. That would be Sunny Gavaskar.

Yes, greatest white ball batter of his era.

Fair, I don't know much about that era bro. But yh you are right

If by lead you mean number of runs then I will go with Jaiswal. I think he will eclipse Gill once he becomes a permanent fixture in the Indian team.

Babar will continue making runs yet not be thought of as era defining because Pakistan doesn't play enough tests. Brook is prodigious but I don't think he will equal or surpass the success achieved by Root. Brevis is super talented but too early to say how he will go. For Pakistan my money is on Abdullah doing really well as an all format player and Saud in tests.

Brooks will lead this era. In tests atleast
It seems likely but we will need to see how he perform on non phatta wickets too.

Next Ashes will provide an insight into his progression.

He has pulled waaaaaaay ahead of the pack from the 3 players I named. ABD has went into his shell and Rachin has had some blips too.

Two names stand out - Jaiswal and Brook.

I think Brook is the leader of the pack because his batting style is era-defining. He bats the way you expect a modern batsman to play moving forward, which will help him stand out if he continues to put up monster numbers with his batting style. That's always a big IF with guys that bat this way though.

In the end, it all depends on development since both have a long way to go.

I agree with you, but smacking on phattas is an art.

Scoring on phattas is one thing but outright murdering oppositions on phattas and outbatting them is another.

Root couldn't even score 300 on a phatta nor could root decimate NZ like Brooks did.
