South Africa have recently demonstrated their prowess whilst overpowering England in the 1st Test

Can other Test playing nations match the South African?

This bowling line up including Keshav Maharaj is good enough to last 5 years in test cricket at least. Too bad they are not going to play too many test matches in the next cycle. :inti

What are people's thought on the following quartet IF ever Pakistan has the guts to play them together:

Shaheen shah
Naseem Shah
Haris Rauf
Mohd. Hasnain

Four 145kph bowlers

Back up:
Dahani
Hassan Ali

South Africa currently.

Nortje, Jansen, Rabada, and Ngidi. That's a lethal attack.

In Test Cricket, it has to be South Africa.

Australia have Starc, Cummins, Hazelwood and Cameron Green. Green is more of equivalent with bat and bowl both.

India has Bumrah, Shami, Siraj and Shardul.

I would say South Africa because they have a left arm pacer and a 150 kph pace bowler in Nortje and ofcourse the leader of the pack with 250 wickets already to his name, Kagiso Rabada.

Maharaj is a very underrated spinner. I think he is the best SA spinner since the readmission in 1992. He is also a good lower order batsman. :inti

All the team with top quartlets play at home in pacer friendly conditions and some have a more supportive balls like Dukes (Eng, WI). Aus and SA offer much more pace and bounce but, Aussie wickets generally are flatter then the rest but, their pacy nature and bounce can’t be denied.

So to form a quartet exactly you obviously need 4 good pacers but, also need to have conditions for that. No team would play 4 seamers on a spinning wicket. Thats why with Pak you will see 2 and at max 3 pacers playing more often than not. Yes in SENA they can try a quartlet.

Coming to your lineup Wasim Jr or Dahani over Hasnain currently as Hasnain has to play more and perform in red ball cricket.

Apart from Shaheen none of them is a proven test bowler. Haris and Hasnain have played less than 10 FC matches. Test cricket is difficult especially when you have no experience. Naseem is not really at a stage to be considered a top test bowler right now. Actually he needs to improve a lot to become a test bowler.

Haris doesn't have much time on his side considering he is already 29. Dhani has better prospects to become a test bowler than Haris.

Naseem has alot of work to do espically regarding fitness and staying injury free.Dahani i think will be suited to tests he can bowl long spells and has decent accuracy.Rauf and Hussain have less potential pluss ages isn't on Rauf side.

India, because they also perform in Asia.

SA attack, including Rabada and Maharaj was pedestrian in their last India tour

Given the finalists for the WTC23 , would it be fair to say that Australia and India are the top 2 pace Test attacks in the world?

These two are able to adapt to the conditions. They are able to change attacks from 4 fast bowlers to 2 fast, 2 spin, 3-2, 2-3, 3-1 whatever combination of fast-spin bowlers are required.

That is what makes Aus. and Ind. the best.

Tough to say.

India at full strength is right up there with the best. Bumrah, Siraj, Shami and Umesh is a top class attack with a lot of variety.

And all the SENA countries have world class attacks right now which are not too apart from each other with the Aussie one leading the pack.

Top 5 for me --

Australia (Cummins, Starc, Hazlewood, Boland)
India (Bumrah, Siraj, Shami, Umesh)
South Africa (Rabada, Nortje, Jansen, Ngidi)
New Zealand (Boult, Southee, Henry, Jamieson)
England (Anderson, Broad, Wood, Robinson)

Aussies because they have almost like for like replacement available for main four unlike India.

Uhmmm no they don't... Jhye Richardson is the only guy that is somewhat good and is of Cummins' mould but that's about it. Neser is nowhere near the quality of their first choicers.

Purely in terms of depth, I'd say England has the biggest pool of quality seamers as of now. Yes it is mainly due to the insane amount of test matches they play due to which they need to have a bigger squad depth but I don't think any other country has as many test quality fast bowlers as them.

Anderson
Broad
Wood
Archer
Robinson
Woakes
Potts
Stone
Saqib
Fisher

Nah. Only top two arguably three are proven test pacers.

Anderson and Broad are veterans and still going strong. Wood , Robinson and Woakes have already proven their Test credentials. Archer, Stone, Potts have all had multiple breakthrough performances against top sides.

I'm curious to know who your two or three bowlers are.

Anderson and Broad. Wood is good in his role.

All other have has a one or atmost two good series.

Aussies are ahead by a country mile. Indian attack have regressed.

No other pace attack are anywhere close to Aussie attack.
