As a departure from usual topics - wanted to bring this to discussion!

Unfortunately - I myself have never been to an international game. Almost went to the 5th ODI between Pakistan and India in Karachi in 2006 but plans fell through.

Which games have you all attended?

2004 - 1st ODI India vs Pakistan at Karachi... India scored 350 odd and Inzi played like a champion batsman only for Rana Naveed and Moin Khan to leave balls in the last two overs and not get us over the line. Was a brilliant game of cricket.

2006 - 3rd Test India vs Pakistan at Karachi... I think it was day 4 or 5 that I attended... India needed a mountain of runs to chase and win, and then Asif ripped through India showing them their place. Karachi was like a cauldron that day. Heck the Indians must have felt like walking into the lion's den.

Those are the only international matches I have attended along with a couple of local matches and Faisal Bank T20 matches as well.

Whenever I attend an international match involving India, India loses. So I have stopped visiting an international match involving India. The last international match involving India that I watched was the world cup match between South Africa and India at Nagpur 2011. It was the only match that India lost in that world cup.

No more International matches involving India for me. :srini

1. 1st Test: Australia v India at Melbourne - Dec 26-29, 2011 (MCG, Boxing Day Test)

2. 1st ODI Match: Australia v India at Melbourne - Feb 5, 2012 (MCG)

3. 2nd Test: India v South Africa at Bengaluru - Nov 14-18, 2015 (Chinnaswamy, AB's 100th Test, washed out due to rain)

2015 World Cup Semi Final- India vs Australia in Sydney. One of the best expereinces of my life. The team i was rooting for won in the end and the electrifying atmosphere is something that still gives my chills to this day. The sheer number of Indian fans was amazing. Looked like it was a match taking place in India. Australia had much less support compared to India and I must've been one of the only brown-skinned person who wasn't supporting India in the crowd. My seat was in the predominantly Indian stand, so it definitely lead to an awkward moment when I cheered for Johnson when he got Kohli's wicket. The top edge sent the ball sky high and the whole stadium just went radio-silent when Kohli got out. All the Indian fans knew it was gonna be hard to make a comeback from there onwards. Dhoni played well but not well enough. Wasn't able to hitout when required but still a decent knock.

2015 World Cup Final- Australia vs New Zealand. One of the bigget let-downs of my life. I went in supporting New Zealand as what Mccullum and company were doing in the tournament was the stuff of legends. The way Bmac acted as a pinch-hitter at the top of the order and decimated bowlers was something I was in awe of throughout the tournament. Grant "Superman"Elliot played one of the best innings I have ever seen in my life. The way that man stepped up in the semi-final against South Africa and booked a place for his country in the final was just mind-boggling. Williamson with the six that won his team the game against Australia in the group-stages was also highly impressive. His team was 9 wickets down and instead of taking singles and doubles at such a crucial stage of the game, he decided to knock the ball out of the park by coming down the ground. Keeping all these moments in mind when entering the MCG for the final, I was hoping New Zealand would top it all off with a tournament win. Boy was i wrong...

The game starts and Starc has bowled a beautiful over to the New Zealand openers. Last ball of the over and Starc bowls a beautiful inswinger that is just too damn good for Bmac. The wickets light up and the subsequent cheering and celebrations was almost deafening. 93,000 people all went up and knew how crucial this wicket was for their team. New Zealand never really recovered after that wicket. As far as i remember, they never got back in the game. I was really disheartened and in the second inings, when Australia was within 20 runs of chasing the total and lifting the trophy, my dad and I decided to leave as even though the occasion as huge and the atmosphere was highly enjoyable, we hadn't eaten in 7 hours and decided to head to a restaurant to beat the inevitable bus lines that would form after the match ended. To this day, I regret leaving the ground early and not being able to witness Australia lift the trophy, but 7 hours in the scorching heat meant that our brains were fried and couldn't make the best decisions :(

Luckily, the very next day, the Australian team showed up at the federation square in melbourne to celebrate their victory with the fand and general public. Thousands of people showed up there as well and I almost got to talk to Shane Watson as well, but he had to leave so couldn't really get any autographs. :/

That game was one of the best games I had ever seen :)

So glad you got to watch it live.

I watched 2 games.

India vs Pakistan and SL vs India at the NSK.Both games were part of the 2008 Asia Cup.

However I don't remember either of those games as I was very young and did not have any interest in cricket.

Pakistan vs South Africa - 2nd test at Lahore in 2007

England vs Pakistan - 1st test at Lord's in 2016

Needless to say, I don't remember much about the first one apart from it being a dead wicket on which the South Africans piled on the runs. It was Inzamam's farewell test, hence I went.

The test at Lord's was indelible and those memories will stay with me for a lifetime.

I wish I could go watch more test matches, but it's hard living and working in the Middle East at the moment and I don't really want to go watch a match in the UAE as that is depressing.

2013:
England vs New Zealand 1st ODI at Lords (NZ beat England by 5 wickets with Martin Guptill scoring a century) - this was a school trip, pretty good atmosphere

Pakistan vs West Indies Champions Trophy - went with some family, we lost but it was a great game and the atmosphere was good

Pakistan vs India Champions Trophy - got tickets for free courtesy of knowing a guy who knew a guy, we got good seats but what a bad match it was. Was a dead rubber and lots of rain delays, left early. Worst match I have ever attended

2016:

England vs Pakistan 1st Test Lords day 4 - where we won the match and done the push ups. It was a last minute decision, when England lost the first 2 wickets in the chase me and my dad quickly decided to go, drove to kingsbury, got on the tube from there and the third wicket also fell while we were on the way. But we saw the remaining wickets - great atmosphere, lots of Pakistan fans. Stuck around for a bit after, we were very close to some of the players after the game leaving the stadium but security guys were being tight. Great experience.

Will add some more matches I've been too later.

The infamous Sydney Test of 2010  what a game to be at for your first stadium experience :kami

The ODI at Sydney in the subsequent ODI series that we lost 5-0

A T20 between Australia and England following the 2013/4 Ashes series at ANZ stadium

The warmup game between Pakistan and England before then 2015 WC at the SCG.

The ODI at Sydney, 22/1/17. Hassan took a 5fer, and Sharjeel got us off to a flyer, but we fielded terribly and the rest of the batsmen did jack all.

Day 4 of the recent Ashes test at the SCG. Both Marsh brothers got their centuries

Just been to the one off T20 vs England at Old Trafford in 2016. Amazing day.

Will definitely go to Pakistan vs India in 2019 World Cup wherever it may be.

Been to one in mohali. 2016 pak vs nz WT20.Really loved the atmosphere. One of the best experience of my life or the best. Really loved it. Though came back disappointed.

2010:

Pakistan vs Australia - 1st T20 at Edgbaston - was a great atmosphere, Umar Akmal played some amazing shots - what a day that was

India Australia in Bangalore last year, I left at tea and my friend took over, cue Pujara and Rahane partnership and my friend the only glum faced guy in the stadium we saw on the TV :)))

Pakistan vs Australia in January 2017 at the SCG:-

It was the 3rd and final test match and we had already lost the series. Nevertheless, we got the tickets for the first 2 days of the match. Our bowlers got an epic phainty but experience was still good. It was my first international match where I got to see Pakistan play. Got to see all the players up close and personal as our seats were at the boundary. Saw Misbah chase the ball with breathtaking agility at the boundary which was all the more impressive for his age. Had tickets for the second day as well but the scorching hot weather and the way our boys were playing stopped me from attending :(

The 2nd ODI against England in 2010 in Leeds. Great day out even though we lost.

Day 1 of the 2nd Test in Manchester in 2016. Terrible day to attend as a Pak fan, but I still had a great time. Met a lot of the players and commentators. Got selfies and autographs. One of my most prized possessions is a cricket ball which has been signed by both Yasir and Warne. Would have attended the remaining days but I was going to Pakistan the next day. Was a surreal few days as I also met Imran Khan at the airport that week.

Pakistan vs India ODI in Lahore, 2006. Shoaib Malik scored a century. Lots of Indians in the crowd, too bad we lost as it was a great atmosphere and amazing to see players up close. You can see how fast these guys are bowling as sometimes the ball is just a blur as it’s hurled down the pitch.

The first game watched an international game in stadium was between India and SA in the scorching summer of Jaipur. I’m a die had Sachin fan. And he was out for just 4 runs in that game.

Next match was in Gwalior i think and he scored 200 runs. I was watching it on tv and rather that celebrating i was cursing him to the core- Couldn’t he have done in the last match.

I make it a point to watch atleast a day of test match in all the series Pakistan plays in the UAE. So have watched all series past few years. If I ever buy the more expensive tickets, I am usually the only one in that stand, twiddling my thumbs.

There have been very very few highlights (Misbah's Abu Dhabi fastest hundred for example) but really, test cricket in UAE is excruciating to watch. In my opinion, it is killing the sport. There is nothing in it, on TV or in the ground. I'd rather dig my own grave during that time.

Have also watched matches in Lahore (ODI) and Karachi (ODI's, Test.) Absolutely beautiful. I remember watching Mark and Steve Waugh (I think) bat all day in Karachi and left 30 minutes before time. Reached home and Wasim had taken 4 or 5 wickets in that half hour. Also remember Shoaib's run up in that game. Breathtaking.

Speaking of Shoaib, saw the Karachi game where he took 6 for next to nothing against NZ. It was pure steroid stuff. I think that tour was abandoned halfway due to hotel bomb.

Once ventured into a county game at Lord's. Spent an entire day. Total 4.5 overs possible due to rain, where Graeme Hicks scored a few boundaries. Decent crowd, mostly old aged, who spent their time reading, talking etc. A very English day. Still beats 90 full overs in Dubai.
