I find Korean and Japanese very fascinating and I want to learn them in future and as for the undesirable language, I must say all the South Indian languages are like that. They are not very pleasing to listen to.

languages which are sweet to hear:

Russian (females only)
Korean
Japanese
Ukrainian
French

languages which are not so sweet to hear:.

Indo
thai
tegalog
tamil, telegu.... South Indian languages.

The list is my opinion only.

generally I find it sweeter when the language has more soft notes.

The harder the notes, it strikes the ear more and while listening for the longer period of time, if you are not used to it, then you will start to feel a bit discomfort.

only exception is Japanese which does have lots of hard notes but they compensate it via putting more emotions. it's a very dramatic language and hence you could feel the emotions though words may filled up with hard notes.

Arabic is a language which really facinates me, for various reasons. And it’s very mathematical as well with all the patterns. And I love learning it.

Urdu is a very pleasing language for the ears.

Pahadi is a very sweet language and which I really enjoy speaking.

Punjabi ( which I usually speak) is a cool and tough language.

Norwegian is a very easy language to speak and write. I also understand swedish. But from the 3 scandinavian languages I think Danish sounds annoying. The written Danish is quite similar to Norwegian but when they speak it really sounds like a messed up versjon of Norwegian. But I guess the Danes wound say same about Norwegian:)

French is one which is most pleasing, while German is the harshest on the ears. I like how Urdu sounds as well.

The one language which troubles my ears the most though is Mandarin.

isn't mandarin a dialect?

Danish is a stupid language. I can imagine Norwegian being the better version of the two even tho I am Danish speaker. For me it's like basically the same language with different dialect. I have no problem reading norwegian or understanding it. Swedish is much more difficult to understand.

Maybe or not. Some people think Mandarin is a dialect of Standard Chinese, some (including Wiki) indicates its a language. In either case, its pretty harsh on the ears.

Lol. Interessant å se at du er enig med meg, selvom jeg ble litt overrasket.

I love Punjabi and dislike Haryanvi language a lot. We in Delhi call it 'lath maar boli' because it sounds rude even when they are speaking politely lol. :inti

Punjabi sounds very rough and aggressive and unpleasant in general. The whole language sounds like you are giving gaalis to someone even if you are not.

The Sylheti dialect of Bengali is one of the most disgusting sounds there is.

South Indian languages too are in general not nice to listen to.

On the other hand, Scandinavian languages are the most pleasant. From South Asia, Urdu and Shuddho (pure) Bengali are good too.

I like Persian most, it's sounds so similar to French that for Iranians French is the easiest language to learn. Plus as a Punjabi, I can understand most of their vocabulary.

Punjabi can be most politest and rudest depending on selection of your words. I think people forget Hindi and Urdu and resort to Punjabi when it comes to gaali-galoch

Always wanted to learn Spanish.

Wonderful language, spoken at quite a pace too :)

I have developed an annoyance for Australian off late.

Turkish language fascinates me.

Love the Arabic language. The current international language of communication, English, is the one I am most familiar with and proficient in.

Speaking of languages, interesting to note that David (pbuh) understood the language of birds and animals, whilst his son, Solomon (pbuh), reacted joyously to the exclamation of an Ant - as detailed in the Qur'an. So languages are universal forms of communication, and everyone/everything speaks a language all its own - from creatures, to trees, mountains, oceans, flowers and so on.

I like Arabic the most. Best language for me.

I don't find any language annoying but I find German and Cantonese kind of odd.

Arabic and Sanskrit are old and civilizational languages. Aramaic is another language though hardly spoken much these days other then small parts of the Middle East. It is the language spoken by Hazrat Isa(SAW) that makes it so fascinating.

Quite often you are.

Tamil, my native language is very pleasant to listen to if you understand it. I also like Telugu and Malayalam which I could understand a bit.
Hindi on the other hand is harsh and annoying to hear.

The Language I love to listen to and want to learn are the following, I did a top 5 for it haha

2) Japanese
3) Italian
4) Norwegian
5) Pashto

Top 5 Languages i find annoying ( not to be disrespected) or anything just how i feel haha

1) Tamil
2) German
3) Haitian Creole
4) Tagalog
5) Russian

I like every language but love my mother tongue Bangla the most.

Joy Bangla :shakib

I like British English very much (not the northern accent mind you:yk). I think British English is very pleasant on the years compared to American or Australian english. I also like French. A very sweet sounding language. Among the Indian languages, Bengali I suppose is sweet on the ears. Sometimes I google random melodious Bengali songs and have a listen on YouTube, there's almost a classical feel to some Bengali songs even if I don't understand the abc of it.

As for the annoying ones, German sounds pretty harsh to me. Maybe I'm subconsciously biased after hearing Hitler's speeches in documentaries. All south east asian languages sound pretty annoying on the years. Always feels like people are whining for some reason when they speak Korean. Among the Indic languages, Punjabi doesn't sound nice on the years due to its distinct nasal twang, and generally sounds loud. Arabic is nice when the ladies talk softly, but sounds very harsh when the gents do it. Have watched too many football highlights videos with loud arabic commentary and nearly all of them have such a deep throated pronunciation of words.

Urdu is very pleasing to ears , one of the best of all languages
German has lot of strong words
Shudh hindi the way modi speaks is not pleasant at all.
English specially from native speakers is also very pleasant.
Never particularly liked middle eastern languages.

A language that I enjoy listening to when folk are conversing is Kiswahili. The language of Kenya - very aggressive in its style, but nonetheless fascinating.

Many different dialects and some are extremely harsh

Persian for me is the most pleasant to hear. Everyone seems so passionate when they express themselves.

Scandinavian languages seem so bland on the other hand

I like the sound of Punjabi, Arabic, and Spanish. However my most favorite one would be Urdu, as in the formal Persiainized Urdu, not the colloquial every day language.

The language that i dislike the most is Sanskritised Hindi. To me it sounds very unpleasant.

Favorites
Arabic, Dardic/Northern Pakistani languages, Various Germanic languages, Greek, Russian, and Polynesian languages like Samoan.

Least appealing would be
Dravidian languages and East Asian languages.

Spanish ,Bengali and Hindi(pure esp of doordarshan and Amitabh) are sweet to hear.

French, Marathi and Portuguese are not pleasing to hear.

Tamil and Sanskrit fascinate me the most, so much history.

I think your native language affects how you hear other languages.

I generally found Hindi, Urdu, French, Punjabi and Gujarati along with the Australian accent super irritable.
