With Indian batting starting to decline, which team is best suited to win a test match/series in India.
1. WI: Won last test match in 1994. Since then never came close.
2. Nz: Had an opportunity in 2010 test series but ruined it.
3. Sl: Have never won a single test in India.
4: Ban: Good in Asian conditions but never won in India
Discuss.

It's tough, india is a very good team at home. None of the teams mentioned above could win a series. NZ and SL would have the best chance of winning a test match or two though.

On a side note It would be tough for pakistan to win a single match as well.

If perhaps we had a prime babar, misbah, YK, Ajmal, and Yasir in the same team we could win in India.

I think England has a chance but not on upcoming tour maybe in 6-7 years after.

Pakistan with Misbah and YK as India would have prepared rank turners and both these were excellent agains spin.

Current Pakistan side could also beat them but they’re running scared.

Ys... We can see ireland winning upcomming t20 world cup

Atleast read the question before giving your golden views LoL

Do you really think the teams OP mentioned will able to beat India in India?
These teams will not able to beat Ranji and India A teams let alone India.

no they wouldn't. Misbah's team has no chance vs Virat's india in test or odi apart from a one off fluke like the champions league.

If it’s among the four listed, I don’t think any of them has a chance in near future.

NZ just don’t have the bowling to take 20 Indian wickets effectively, while WI has troubles in both ends with bat & ball.

SRL has never won a Test in India for 45 years I believe and their cricket is heading to a nose dive. In past, they had great batting line-up, which also has declined these days. I was watching BD-ZIM Test and to think that a bit of timely weather intervention (or opposite), SRL could have lost a Test series to this ZIM, albeit in ZIM.

BD is improving but still the gap is too, too wide. Moreover, our strengths are India’s strength as well and they are simply too ahead in those parameters. In future may be, but biggest challenge for us is that top players are not interested to become great Test cricketers and that’s even more applicable for younger bunch.

Still, if I am to put one name at gun point - I’ll pick WIN. They have (can have) the bowling to take 20 wickets, and couple of their top batsmen can blow any bowling attack within couple of sessions. On a rank turner, batting first, we might make it interesting, but my money is on WIN - at least till end of this decade.

Easy, it's Bangladesh. Liton Das will break Lara's record and make Ashwin / Bumrah retire in one session.

I'm surprised OP didn't include Afghanistan in that list. They too have not won a test (although they played only one) but , I reckon they are the most likely of the above lot to win in India , especially if they are defending in the last innings on a tired wicket.

Infact if we play a Test Asia cup with all games played on typical Asian turners, I'll be very surprised if the final's not between India and Afghanistan. That's how potent their spin attack can be.

trying to act clueless by calling the champions trophy the champions league?
looks like someone is still salty about it lol

I thot South Africa is one team that won/drew series against India in India more than once

These teams list can't even win match leave series imo. Best chance for any team would be aus. They will need warner and labu doing well and supporting smith. If smith has another bradman like series then aus can win series. Eng don't have bowlers to do well in india.

nah you guys deserved to win the final but it is still 1 - 1 hehe. You got a phainta before the final. We got a phainta in the final.

india dont rely on their batsmen to win in india, they rely on their bowlers, foreign teams have terrible batting stats in india.

india will continue to dominate home tests as the technical ability of batsmen to play spin has decreased over the last decade or two.

unless india end up relying on defensive spinners, which i dont think will happen given jadeja and ashwin still have a fair few years left.

If I had to pick out of these teams it would be Sri Lanka. They always produce spinners and have batters who can play spin well.

SL is yet to win even a Test in India despite having legends like Murali and Sanga

why exactly do you guys think india prepares turners ? india don't doctor pitches like your beloved SENA nations. India prepares low bouncy flat wickets. Usually a batting paradise. India probably prepares the fairest pitches in Asia. India doctored the pitch in 2015 to teach the saffers a lesson. That was the only time they prepared proper rank turners. Saffers always prepared green mamas when india travelled. It's only fair if india reciprocates once in a while. Boy did the saffers cry in that series lol. Some beautiful phaintas.

India are just too good in those conditons as they have the bowlers to win games. India's batting in sub continent will never be an issue.

I don’t see that happening. Pakistan has only one world class batsman- Babar.

In bowling, apart from Shaheen I don’t see anybody else posing a threat to Indian batsmen. Naseem, Rauf, Musa, Hasnain have barely played any games. From the older ones- Amir retired, Hassan already lost the grip, Wahab bowls too much trash. Traditionally Indian batsmen play leggies better than any team. Don’t see Yasir succeeding much. Its the offies or SLA bowlers who have been successful against India. And Pakistan have none.
