Which particular bowling performance made you fall in love with fast-bowling?

I didn't have that much of an understanding and interest in 90s when Wasim and Waqar were at their peaks.

For me, the performance that made me fall in love with pace bowling was Shoaib Akhtar's spells against England in 2005 at home. Pure express fast bowling, all hitting over 145kph, with frequent 150's that all on dead slow wickets of Pakistan. Shoaib kept running in and bowling those thunderous firebolts. In addition to that, England were on a high after their historic 2005 ashes victory. They were trounced 2-0 by Pakistan at home. A series and bowling performance I will never forget.

Donald's spell to Atherton in 1998 vs England at Trent Bridge. Was one of the most compelling passages of play I saw growing up.

Wasim and Shoaib in 1999 vs India too.

Shoaib was excellent in that 2005 series vs England but what impressed me more was his use of the slower ball. Everyone expects searing pace from him but he was intelligent enough to use variations and took the slow, dead pitches out of the equation.

Surprisingly enough when I try and recall it, it was Allan Donald's 9 wickets against India in Durban in 1996. That was the first time I felt both terror and awe at watching batsmen tremble in the face of an unimaginably fast spell of bowling. Of course, I might not be as impressed if I was watching that spell for the first time now, but to a young boy it was utterly breathtaking. I started appreciating our own pair of fast bowling geniuses afterwards. Truly lucky to have seen the likes of Ambrose, Walsh, Donald, Pollock, Wasim and Waqar play. It's sad that cricket will never have it so good.

I remember that series!

Akhtar’s Yorker to get rid of Vaughan in the 3rd Test was one for the ages.

Akhtar and Kaneria were unstoppable that series.

Asif in the 3rd inning of 2nd Sri Lanka Test right after that India series was even more fascinating.
SL had a lead of around 150 runs and Asif totally blew the batting lineup consisting of Sanga, Mahela, Jayasuria, Samaraweera away for 72 with a 6 for. That was another masterful peace of swing and seam bowling.

It was amazing watching cricket in the early 90's. Alan Donald steaming in against a defiant Atherton. Curtly Ambrose, Ian Bishop, Courtney Walsh bowling together. Did not see much of Waqar during his prime, just watched Wasim Akram in the 1991/92 WC, those two brilliant deliveries to Fairbrother and Lewis are still etched in my mind. Brett Lee steaming in and bowling 150+ against India in 1999/00. Shoaib Akthar bowling two yorkers in Calcutta to dismiss Dravid and Sachin. All these were memorable.

Akhtar vs NZ. We scored like 643 on a phatta and Akhtar just detonated the NZ batting order, they all knew he was going to bowl yorkers and still couldn't do a thing about it. 150-155 KPH bullets. Made international players look like Sunday league chumps.

I didnt see it live, Just saw the highlights, but the spell was fascinating. I think it's on youtube as well. Australia crashed from 85-2 to 119 all out.

Also his spell against SAF in Port Elizabeth 2007... What a treat to watch!

ABD still recalls that spell and mentioned how Asif was one of the most difficult bowlers he had ever faced.

Akhtar tbh outbowled both Asif and Sami even though bowled around 10-11 overs and didnt bowl in the second inning.
