With all the talk of India being a all time great team and in the light of their recent loss in the NZ series how many SENA countries is this team capable of winning a series in?

Has the level of cricket stooped so low that the number 1 ranked team in the world is not able to win a series in half of the test playing countries?

Pakistan gets a lot of criticism for its #1 ranking in t20. Is it time that we look at the test rankings with the same lens?

They would beat all of them if they win the toss. Still undefeated when they win the toss away from.home. They would beat south africa easily now.

England also only beat s.africa cause they won 3 tosses.

get it through your thick skulls. Toss matters. period. This is the ultimate truth. To win away, you need to win tosses to balance out the home advantage factor.

I think India will win in South Africa. That's about it.

They should lose badly in England and NZ. They should be competitive in Australia but will probably lose 1-2.

why would they lose badly in England. It was a close series last time despite the result. England won all tosses. Had india won 5 tosses then they would have won 5 0 or 4 -1. Would that make them the GOAT then? obviously not.

What about teams touring India, dont they loose tosses? Its a pretty lame excuse to he honest as India is the number one team and supposedly the greatest ever with only one batsman averaging 50+ in tests. How is the flip of the coin can have such an impact that they cant win if they loose the toss?

ICC better decide the test championship results by flipping coins in their headquarters as supposedly the team which looses toss can never win.

For your information Pak lost the toss against Eng in last test match in 2016 and were able to beat them and same was the case in 2018 in the first test.

yes teams won plenty of tosses and still got brutally smashed in India. That's why they we number 1 unfortunately.

England won 4 tosses in India back in 2015-2016. They lost 4 0.

australia won 4 tosses and lost 2-1.

Well that's good on pakistan. They beat their opponents despite playing in unfavourable conditons. But they are inconsistent. Sometimes they turn up and sometimes they don't. That's why they are ranked lower.

You can't really control the toss. Besides, no good team should rely on toss.

In England, ball swings around a lot when it is overcast. It doesn't matter whether you win toss or not.

I think we can win in all , if we sack Virat from captaincy . India is a much better balances team than what we see under captain clueless . I say we can win , cos I dont see Aus , Nz , Eng and SA as very strong sides even at home .

literally all barring south africa are strong at home. But india are strong er at home.

They are strong , but beatable with a bit of luck(No injuries , both batting and bowling in good form) . Aus will be the toughest , as it wont be easy to pick wickets on those flat pitches , but SA , NZ and Eng we have the bowling to take 20 wickets . Then again , this is lot of ifs and buts , the current Indian team under Virat will get trashed even in SA .

India could beat SA because the Africans' batting is so weak.

India might have slightly more chance in Australia that England and NZ as there is no lateral movement to worry about.

It's true. The weather changes fast, often from session to session - though clouds are less important than temperature and rising moisture. I've seen Anderson bowl dead straight under total overcast because the air is cool. Thn on a bright but muggy day it goes like a banana for him.

In South Africa as SA are weak right now. With that win, we will have test series wins in every country, WT20 win, CT win and WC win.

That Australia series was a one off. Maybe they can beat south Africa now as their batting is attrocious. I don't see them winning anywhere else to be honest. I think this India team peaked for abit (away) now you will see similar results like 2011-2014.

It's South Africa due to their weak batting line up. But on a seam friendly pitch South Africa can match India without a doubt.

Don't see India winning in England and Australia.

SA definitely

Maybe even Aus,yes. We struggle v swing but on bouncy tracks we are okay.Even last time we amassed huge scores v full strength Aus attack.

Yes Smith Warner will be back, but if some luck goes our way we can fight

They’ll win in SAF comfortably.

But, other three are going to be tough. On papers, Poms are probably better squad now with supreme raise of Stokes, emergence of Jofra and Wood is a much better pacer now. Down side is declining (aging) Jimmy & Berbi - batting is probably at same level.

Aussies are brutally dominant at home now; will crash every team to pieces at home to be honest.

But, more than other teams, I am a bit surprised with Indian squad - may be too many players are heading to down slide at one time together and bowlers are ageing out. Also, their catching has gone to all time low - this is one factor that will hurt India in SENA countries, particularly with an ageing attack. This Pant guy alone is good enough to lose a Test in Australia!!!!

Add to that the insecurity shown by Kohli as Captain, don’t think India will enjoy a good trip in UK or Australia now.

It all depends upon how India top order bats , If India wants to win , it needs to get 300 consistently , Kohli , Pujara , Rahane must fire

come to india :virat:. we will show you:ishant:virat1

in all honesty, India missed bhuvi for n.z and England series. Pandya in n.z conditons to add balance would have been key. You need bit part players for places like England and n.z.

jaddu at 7
bhuvi at 8
ishant
bumrah
shami

I am yet to see this team play. This would be full strength. I am 100% sure results would have been different. bhuvi can bat pretty well. Far better than current ashwin.

1.Shaw
2.Agarwal/Rahul
3.Pujara
4.Kohli (c)
5.Gill
6.Saha (wk)
7.Pandya/Jaddu
8.Bhuvi
9.Ishant
10.Shami
11.Bumrah

This team would have a chance in SA and even in NZ but not sure about Eng and Aus..

Your batting is poor overseas barring Kohli you were lucky in Aus last time Pujara had his monster series its exception rather then norm givin his other overseas tours .
India overseas never make enough runs to compensate for improvement in fast bowling barring Virat none of your bats will make the top 6 of Indian side a decade earlier.

Also you dont have a better captain then Virat right now, Rohit yes but he will struggle to make it in to first xi on merit for sena tours

We'll beat SAF irrespective of the toss.
With Philander , our tormentor in chief retiring , it's not going to be hard to beat them.

We'll lose in ENA regardless of the toss.

Australia.

Indian batsmen are brilliant on Australian pitches and the Australian attack is not good enough to take them down.

Warner is a monster on home pitches but because he is technically rubbish, there is a possibility of keeping him quiet with smart bowling and captaincy.

If India can find a way to tame Smith, they will be favorites to win in Australia again.

South Africa shouldn’t count because they are a weak side at the moment, and England is a very resilient side that finds new ways of beating India at home.

we have not lost a single game when we won the toss away from home. Now we will lose to all 3 rofl? yea I highly doubt that.

Infact if we won the toss last time in England or he'll even n.z this time, India probably would have won the series.

We never won a toss in England last time we tour despite we won a match,so stop making excuses about the toss.
