The way Bangladesh are playing, I would say Pakistan should be very very worried! But can Pakistan prevail over the confidence of Bangladesh?

Some time to go to this game but given that each game is a must-win for Pakistan, the Bangladesh game could well decide if we reach the semis or not!
 
Pak will lose at least 3 out of remaining 4 matches including one against BD
 
Our railukattas will come to the party and score some soft runs securing their place for the next 2 years.
 
All I can say is Bangladesh has more chance than Pak to reach semis... That's the evidence of who is playing better Cricket and better team always wins...
 
Pakistan had its chance and failed. I would want Bangladesh to win this one and qualify for the semis. They deserve it more than anyone.
 
to me Pak has edge simply due to BD's bowling suited to Pak Batsman..
 
By saying that would like to see BD in Semi (even in final if we're not facing them in semi)!!
 
I was giving Pakistan 70:30, but last two days results have compelled me to reverse the ratio in favor of BD. Don't know about the weather though. BD is playing as a team, of course Shakib's contribution outweighs the others.
 
This could be a virtual quarter final if NZ loses 2 or more matches...

As NZ would’ve played all its matches by then.

BD are firm favourites. Dont even know why have Pakistan bothered showing up for the WC lol
 
Why are we even talking about this game.
Who cares about a game which may be irrelevant for both teams.
One thing I can be sure of is, is that if pak are out of the tournament before this game, we will defo take bangladesh with us!
All Pakistan should be interested in now is SA
 
BD playing well, but Pakistan will in sha Allah win! Hasnain to get 4-for IA!
 
Way too early for this thread. More matches to be played and who knows what sort of momentim or form these two teams will gain (or lose) along the way.
 
The way I see it, the top 4 has pretty much solidified already.

So 90% chance the 4 semi finalists are going to be England, India, Australia and New Zealand.

The only other team I feel which has a realistic chance of breaking into the top 4 is Bangladesh.

Pakistan has a very marginal chance to reach the SF. It's possible but quite unlikely.
 
PAK bowling > BD bowling at the moment (Amir coming back to form is a bonus for you guys)
BD batting > PAK batting.

It all depends on how your bowlers contains them that day. If they get early break through, you guys win. IF not, they win. Their bowling unit is one of the worst in the tournament.
 
Come on guys have more faith. Hasan Ali will run havoc against bd. Sakibs stumps will break into 3 pieces by a 154 Hasan Ali thunderbolt
 
Don't think Pak has bowlers to contain BD players. they are pretty good players against good bowling. Dealt with Rabada, Morris, Gabriel, Cottrell, Oshane Thomas.
 
If Pakistan bat first and post 300 plus they have a chance.

If Bangladesh bat first and post 300, Pakistan will crumble and lose, no matter what.

Bangladesh are favorites 60 40 and that too only because it is in England. If it was played in an Asian country or UAE, Bangladesh would be 80 20 favorites.
 
Only way Pak can win is by outbatting them. Bowling wise not a whole lot of difference. If anything their spinners are more restrictive.

On present form, BD should win easily. However, Pakistan is a very unpredictable team and they can surprise everyone with a big win.
 
Pakistan's win against England, WI wins against England show one thing. They are not the benchmark. Beating England doesn't mean you automatically beat everyone else.
 
Both teams will have suitcases packed for homes in the dressing rooms. Aus ind eng nz would have qualified handsomely for the semis by then!!
 
BD ain't winning.

No matter how bad cricket we're playing, we'll always find a way to beat the BD Bros in a major tournament.

So, just chill. Let them have some fun for now.
 
We lack bowlers, we can't chase down 300+ every time. We have conceded 300 + twice and 350 + once. Lucky we batted first against kiwis :salute
 
After seeing them easily defeat the West Indies chasing over 300 Bangladesh start as favourites. It could very well be we have nothing to play for by the time the Bangladesh match comes around. If so we won't be at all motivated even by our standards.
 
This game will be on 🔥 if it becomes a quarter final with both teams needing the win for qualification for semis. Absolute cracker and dream scenario for organizers
 
I think if Pakistan is still in contention Pakistan will come all out , and I expect them to win.
 
My money is on BD, they are one good fast bowler away from becoming a top 5 team.

England beat BD by 106 rns

Pak beat England

Pak should beat BD

but : WI beat Pakistan, BD beat WI;

BD's batting is better, but Pak's bowling is far better.
 
My money is on Bangladesh.

Pakistan are just playing cricket
but Bangladesh are fighting for that place in the semis

BD will rightly be favourites, but I think after the let down against India, Pakistan will turn up, especially if some of the flops are ditched from the line up. So I will go for a Pakistan win.

Pakistan's batting is so poor that even their best batsman Babar is inferior to both Shakib and Mushfiq of Bangladesh.

The losing streak against Bangladesh will continue.

People here are talking about bd as a team who beat wi, the same team who beat pak but are not mentioning how bd got thrashed by eng, the team pak beat.

The wrist slitting is so much on this forum
 
Look at all the overconfident Pakistani dans in this thread. Pakistan haven’t beat Bangladesh in their last 4 Odis and actually have a 0-1 record against them in world cups.

Bangladesh is Pakistan’s new rival, not India and not just in cricket.

Better batting : BD
Better Keeper ; BD

Better bowling : Pakistan

will be a close game.
 
BD batsmen have vastly improved their technique against the short ball. In fact they are better batsmen than their Pak counterparts.

Their bowling strength still revolves around left arm spin though - and that may prove to be less effcetive against Pak.

Overall, if it comes down to a batting shootout I expect BD to outshine Pak. Right now its a 50-50

3 were in 2015. I don't see how it's relevant now.
 
lol @ people not giving Pak even a chance.. Pak's issues have been with batting and BD got a weak bowling lineup. I'm guessing 75:25 in Pak favor

How is it wrist slitting? I said I am going for a Pakistan win.

BD should be favourites in my opinion, they are higher ranked and have performed better in this tournament. I am only going for a Pakistan win because I think we have the edge in the pace department, assuming it clicks.
 
How Bangladesh play vs Australia will give a pretty good indication of what we should expect.

Pak easily.
If they bat first I expect them to put on 360+ if it's a dead pitch.

Don't see BD winning this with the minnow level bowling attack they have.
 
Bangladesh need Saifuddin back from injury. Their death bowling was poor without him. Sarkar bowled surprisingly well though. This should be a close game.

Exactly. Our line up is a dud. RSA and Afghanistan are the only 2 teams who are as weak as us.
 
Bangladesh is definitely a much better batting side. And surprisingly they seem to have become a very good chasing side!

If BD wins the toss and choses to chase then they will play into the hands of Pakistan because I feel Pakistan is a better side when they have 300 runs on the board - and Pakistan never makes 300 in the second innings.

So if Pakistan bats first and get 280-300, this may turn out to be a very interesting match!
 
Only way Pak can lose if they fail to score above par against this weak bowling line up.

Bangladesh are outscored easily but if they bat first the match will be 50/50.

BD need to bat first no matter what. The bowling will end up giving 300+ on these wickets and as seen today , you can't chase such high totals all the time.
 
Bangladesh Got a streak going on against Pakistan since 2015 WC. Long may it continue :D
 
Imam will bat with a strike rate of 120 so you get the picture, if you can't score 400 against our attack then something is wrong with your team
 
The more I watch of Bangladesh, the more worried I am about Pakistan's chances of victory.
