Ive supported England as a child, been to England matches etc but I agree with the OP's premise , the European nations who have spewed hate, politicised the beautiful game dont deserve to win the World Cup. A win for England(World Cup trophy) will sadly be a win for hatred. Senegal will sort them even though the odds are against them. England are taking the knee because of Floyds murder. They are actually protesting against the USA and its police treatment of black people. But this is never discussed but instead they have assumed the knee is against racism. Imo 90% of the England players, fans and coaches have never heard of Kaepernick . But you're right of course the knee started with him.

Brazil were 7/2 to win it , which arent very good odds considering Argentina look great. I assume the odds are similar to better now as Neymar is struggling with injury.

Anyone but England.

I got behind them for the first time in the Euros but the attitude of 3rd rate pundits like Jermaine Jenas and Alex Scott has really irritated me.

I have a soft spot for Muslim teams but my major soft spot is for Argentina and Brazil ( same as most Paks tbh).

This time I hope Messi and Argentina wins a world cup so he can go out on a high.

my point was more that when Kaepernick did it, it meant something because he was rolling the dice with his career, for england it carries no baggage, they wont lose sponsorship or wages over it. im not one of those people who says you should blanket not mix sports and politics, but i don't understand what the gesture is meant to achieve now.

if u really want to make a stand, do it during the national anthem, say that political cause to you is more important than your national team. anyhoo, it is what it is.

yeah, they are better after after neymars injury but I'm still in the money, but it was a fun bet, if i just happen to be watching any game if its brazil i have a dog in the fight. I've never been into football much so betting scraps was my way to make it interesting when mates wanted to watch games.

bookies are still assuming he is available for the knocks outs since they are going to make it through the groups anyway. i imagine the odds will worsen significantly if he is ruled out the tournament.

Indeed best reflection of their culture and faith alhamdulillah, they have bought the tournament to life. Have seen so many Moroccan shirts around lately here, ironically most chilling around / near iranian stores. Great show of unity between ME supporters

Brazil after Scotland and Italy are my team. For the sake of the tournament I am glad that Saudi, Iran and Qatar are all eliminated. Arab countries may have the money but they are no way near the level required to make it big in such tournaments.
