Which tour was worse - The 2016/17 tour to Australia or the 2019/20 one?

Judging by the reaction of my fellow PP posters, it seems like this tour is 1000x worse than than the 2016/17 tour. Back on that tour we came close to winning the D/N test match at The Gabba and then crumbled at the MCG to lose.

Whereas on this tour we have been demolished from start to finish.
All salute to the duo of Misbah and Waqar :salute:salute:ifti:yk2:starc

This is worse. I've seen 3 Aus tours , since 2009-10. I think the 09/10 tour was the best of the 3.

This is much worse. While on paper it will also be read as a whitewash like previous one but this one os far more toothless performance on display.

Its not over yet, but this would be worse. Innings defeat in both test matches is on the cards. And that is downright pathetic and something to be utterly embarrassed.

This has been surreal. Never ever in my lifetime, I have seen Pakistan struggling to take 20 wickets this much. They have transformed themselves to club level bowling.

This is far worse than any series in recent memory. The only way we look like taking wickets is through batsmen error.

At least in Brisbane in 2016/17 we were within a whisker of winning and at the MCG we controlled the first few days before a shambolic collapse.

Worst Pak bowling or rather any Asian team bowling on these flat pitches - i think even SL/Bangla might have fared better than us at this point. The contest has become non-existent at this point. So yeah, definitely the worst yet.

Thanks to misbah

He is the coach and the selector so he should definitely be accountable for this and I hope PCBs top management asks him the right questions. Some selections from bowling side have been pretty pathetic, whether it was Waqar or Misbah I am not sure but Misbah being the head coach should be held responsible for this.

Srl was much better than this in SA and won the series too.

As bad as any other. Have been following tours since 1995.

In 2010 we had Aus on the ropes but Akmal dropped crucial catches. We had a young Amir and Asif, I think we bowled them out for 130 odd at the MCG.

And at least in 2016-17 we nearly pulled of a miracle at the Gabba.

This series has been absolute torment, no game plan, no tactics and there seems to be a lack of direction from the dubious duo (Misbah and Waqar).

At least under Mickey we could challenge in overseas conditons, with Misbah and Waqar at the helm I truly believe the home series vs SL might be a losing one.

This is worse, much worse. We have so far looked like an U19 team taking on an international Men's team. Absolute horror show.

At least you're losing with young guys here.

May prove useful in future.

We almost fluked the first Test in 2016 when Australia slept, and could have drawn the Melbourne Test had Warner not smashed a century before lunch.

This tour has been the worst Australian tour I have seen since 2004, although that series had some memorable individual performances.

Hopefully are last tour to Australia in a long, long time. We should not step on those shores until 2030.

2016/17 was worse. We had hope back then.

People don't understand we have went in with a barely test-class bowling attack. Four out of the five bowlers we have tried have never toured Australia. Neither have they played even 50 cumulative test matches together, with the exception of Yasir Shah.

While I'm disappointed by how we don't look like picking even one wicket right now, I know these young players will get better and lead our bowling attack.

It is said that we are better in Australia and worse in England, while Pakistan are worse in Australia and better in England.

But we aren't this bad in England. We have won tests and even a series in living memory, and last summer's 4-1 scoreline wasn't an accurate reflection of what went on in that series. #SamCurran

Pakistan on the other hand get demolished in Australia through and through.

I believe the Ozzies are more clinical this time as it’s the test championship going on.

It's a combination of the concrete slabs (TM) and Pakistan's teletubby bowling.

A hack like Labunamechangeme shouldn't be on 126* against any attack worth its salt.

You lost 2 matches in 2014 by an innings. In one of those matches you lost by an innings and 100+ runs.
As you won one of the matches,I'll say you did alright.

But this:
https://www.espncricinfo.com/series...-vs-india-3rd-test-india-tour-of-england-2011

You lost by an innings and 200+ runs. Lol

You lost this series 4-0 and pretty convincingly too.

So I'd say that the saying of India being very bad in England is actually pretty accurate.
Not as bad as Pak in Aus but still VERY bad for a major cricket playing nation
At the end of the day you still lost 4-1 in england. You can't make excuses for that

No comparison between Pakistan in Australia and India in England.

No team is as bad in any country as Pakistan is in Australia.

Last tour Pak had a settled line-up with an ATG in the middle, Azhar in his absolute peak and Misbah himself. Bowling had Amir and Wahab. In this series Pak's best bat averages 36 in test cricket and their most impressive bowler is a teenager, I think it is time to cut Misbah some slacks, yes he made some wrong decisions but even if he made all the right calls the outcome would still be same. Pak simply doesn't have enough talent right now to make any difference, fans needs to understand and accept this and allow Misbah some time to rebuild.

On paper performance in this series is worse but that doesn't show the complete picture.

Well, Varun did say that India has been bad in England. Why are you getting triggered by every single post?
Seems like Abbas’ thunderbolts getting spanked have rattled you.

That hack played well in Ashes.

Why are you stalking me? Why're you tagging me for no reason?
And no I'm not triggered. If I was then I wouldn't have given evidence for my claims.

We've all seen your previous teams. 130kmph used to be your team's top speed a few years ago.
Just coz you've a few good bowlers doesn't mean you undermining other teams.
No one likes a show-off

Hmm.

Lets pick.

The 2016/17 tour was better than 2019 one (even though that side also had Misbah in it) so let's think why it is like this?

Oh I know.

It must be Misbah.

Lets punch him and believe that if he wasn't there Santa Claus was coming with gifts.

Masterstroke thread, though.

I think our best tour of Australia in recent times must be the 2009/10 tour, that Sydney defeat still stings. Legendary performance from :kakmal:kakmal:kakmal

This is turning out to be worst of all time. Can’t remember any team looking so clueless in my time of watching cricket. This is a thrashing for the ages.

Blame falls 100% on Misbah for playing 3 pacers and Yasir Shah again! Despite getting hammered by Warner in 4 consecutive tests, they have failed to come up with a plan against him. Pathetic!

Good that I’m on a vacation and did not watch a single ball in this entire series. Will even stop checking score.
